Here it's chapter thirteen, it's a little smaller like before but some of you wanted shorter chapter so I can update more regularly.
Next week I could not update because I'm in holiday and there isn't Internet where I go so I'm sorry for that. Hope you like this chapter.
Chapter thirteen.
Damon's POV.
I sleep peacefully with Bonnie in my arms when I hear my phone ringing. I open my eyes slowly and reach my phone to tell this fucker that he wakes me up. I see that it's only 6AM in New-York and Klaus calls me.
"You know that it's only six in the morning, here." I mumble and get out of bed without waking up Bonnie.
"And it's only, three in Los Angeles, asshole." he responds harshly.
"What do you want Nik ?" I ask rubbing my eyes.
"Something happened to-" he begins but I cut him off.
"It's Stefan ?" I ask worried.
"Not directly. Elena is in hospital with Ella." he replies.
"What happened ? I arrive with Bonnie as soon as possible."
"Elena had to go see John to protect Ella from him and Katherine."
"Why ?" I ask screaming,
"Because he took Ella from her nanny and ask Elena to come. Of course, she did and he kicked her so bad, when I arrive she was already unconscious and Ella as well. Stefan beats him nearly to death." he explains and I choke out.
I hear Bonnie footsteps behind me and she wraps her arms around my waist. "What's going on ?"
"Something happened to Elena, we have to go to LA, now." I whisper and Nik tell me that he sends the jet for me when he returns home yesterday.
"Thank you for calling me, Nik." I say truthfully.
"Damon, Elijah will come with you. Stefan needs him and you know that he is the only one who can defends him."
"He doesn't want him, Klaus and you know it. He betrays him and he hates him." I say and sigh.
"I know that but I come and it's not debatable." he says and hangs up.
"Babe, we have to leave now. I know that you have some thing going on with your company."
"I want to come. I will not let you go alone." she says and kisses me on the cheek before begin to pack clothes for us.
We arrive in LA hours later with Elijah and go directly at the hospital. I knock at Elena's room and Stefan small voice says to come in.
"What are you doing here ?" he asks and I take him in my arms.
"Nik called us and leave as soon as possible." I respond and turn to Bon who cry silently.
"Elijah is waiting for you outside." he turns towards me with clenched fists.
"I don't want to see him." he replies harshly.
"You have to. Talk to him about what happened yesterday and how you beat John to death shall we ?"
"Okay but I don't him near Elena and Ella. Bon may be you can go see Ella in her room ? She will be happy to see you." Stefan says and kisses her on the cheek before we all leave Elena's room.
Stefan's POV.
I see him waiting in a chair. He walks towards me and tend me his hand. I take it even if I don't want to but he is here to help me, so I can play fair and don't push him in the face.
"Stefan, it's good to see again." he says and nod at him.
"It's not pleasure for me but we need to put aside our hate to one and the other to move forward." I tell him because we have to do this, for us because despite all is was my best friend with Nik for years.
"I know but talk about our business, what happened ? Nik told me things but you have to explain to me what exactly happened ?"
Before I can respond Detective James walks towards us. "Mr. Salvatore. We would like to talk to you about today's events."
"Detective James, my client is waiting out if his wife will wake up and as you know not only his wife but his daughter as well. This needs to wait." Elijah says to him.
"I understand Mr... ?"
"Mr. Mikaelson." he responds coldly.
"Mr. Mikaelson but I have a man who he is severely beaten and he has scissor in his calf, I am going to need some answer soon. I will need to question Mr. Salvatore and your brother within the next hour." he says and Elijah thanks him, nods and turns his back on the detective.
"Tell me now what happened." Elijah says and I tell him everything about how Elena was there and Ella too. I beat him to death but Taylor said to me, they all said that they beat him at least one time because he wanted to escape.
In the two hours detectives ask us question about want happened, how I arrives here fast although I should have been in NY. I explain them everything except that I beat him.
"Now look, I know why you did what you did. I would have done the same thing, your wife and daughter." Elijah told me when I return in Ella's room to check on her before she leaves with Nik and Care.
"Thank you, Elijah, for what you did today." I say and shake his hands.
"You're welcome. I will wait for Care and Nik after Ella says goodbye to you. But you have to go home too, Stefan. You look like hell."
"Alright. Thank you, El it's mean a lot." I say and disappear in Ella's room. Damon and Bonnie is here with her playing.
"Dada !" she says and runs in my arms.
"Hey baby girl !" I say and kiss her hair. I inhale her baby scent and wrap my arms tightly around her small body.
"I am going home ?" she asks hopefully.
"Yes, with Auntie Care and Uncle Nik." I reply smiling.
"You don't come with me ?" she asks tearfully.
"No, not tonight baby girl. I stay here with your Mama."
"I can stay too ? I want to see Mama." she says with tears in her eyes because she can't see her mother.
"Listen to me, we talked about this yesterday, you remember ?" she nods and wait for me to continue. "You will see her tomorrow or Monday, okay ? She needs to rest and needs you to be good with Auntie Care."
"Okay Dada, tell her that I love her." she says and rubs her nose on my neck.
I hold her on me and kiss her cheek several times before giving her to Kate the nurse so she can check on her. "Thank you for taking care of her, Kate." I say and she squeezes my hands softly.
"Damon, take this is the key of Elena's home. I know that she would like you to sleep there, instead of going to the hotel."
"You're sure ?" he asks.
"Of course and you can bring some clothes to Elena, tomorrow." I say and hugs him.
"I will take her some dress and bring you clothes too, Stefan." Bonnie says and takes me in her arms.
I sit on the chair and staring at Elena, the baby will be. I want to put my hand on her stomach and I think of our baby growing inside her. I hear a soft knock and Caroline is here. She is paralyzed at the door and I can tell that she is scared to see Elena like that. I stand up and walks over to her. I pull her in my arms and she cries so hard.
"Why she did this ? Why ?" I rub her back and I wrap my arms around her shaking body. I look up and see Klaus standing there and he looks tired. I felt like I own him something for what he did yesterday for me. There is the connection between us even more presents, he saves me because I would have killed John if he wasn't stop me.
Finally, she pulls away and walks over Ana and bends down to kiss her. She gently pushes her hair back off her face and leans in to talk to her. "Elena, sweetie what have you done ? I love you so much please, you have to wake up." she says and tears coming down her face. "You have to wake up, please. We need you and more importantly Ella needs you, this baby inside you needs you too. Please, wake up." Nik decides it's time to step in because she is crying really hard.
"Come on love, let's go take Ella from Damon and Bonnie. Do you need coffee or anything ?"
"No, thank you Nik. Take care of my daughter and I will call you when she wakes up, I promise."
I keep asking myself why she did this without help. I take her hand in mine and kiss her knuckles several times and let my tears falling down my cheek because I'm exhausted, I'm scared about what could have happened to her. I think I fall asleep because when I wake up it's dark outside and Kate is here to check on Elena.
"She is alright ?" I ask and rub my face.
"Yes, everything is fine." she responds and smiles at me.
"Why doesn't wake up then ? It's been almost two days."
"Because she has a lot of injuries and her body needs rest. She will wake up when she is ready."
"Thank you, Kate." I say and she leaves the room.
I look at Elena and start to talk to her about how Nik saves me from killing John, how Ella is doing and she loves her. I also tell her that Damon and Bonnie are here with me to look after Ella like Nik and Care.
"Elijah is here too, you know more than anyone that I hate him but he is the best lawyer and I .. I will need his help because I defend you, I beat him so bad. He attacked you and my baby girl but my guys said that they beat him once. Elijah told me that John didn't pressure charge against me. When I heard that you were with him, I wanted so much that rip his head off because I dared to touch you again. He touched you and I wasn't here to protect you, I'm so angry at myself because I want you with me always, every day and every night. So, when you will wake up I want you to move back to LA or I come here, whatever you want but I can't let be here by yourself caring our child.
"I also think that maybe I can call my Mom, I know that I didn't talk to her since.. she didn't want me to marry you. You don't know that because I didn't tell you when I wanted to ask the night you left. So, she said to me that it was a mistake to marry you because you were a whore and I explode. I scream at her that she let my Dad treat me like shit during my childhood and never defend me when I needed it. But she is my Mom and I still love her, do you think that she will our children ? Do you think that I have to talk to my Dad even if I hate him after what he did. After all, I only need you in my life, baby but you have to wake up so we can start our life together. I miss you so much, please, please wake up.
"I know, I'm selfish about you but you are my life and I can't live without you. You're mine like I'm yours since you bump into each other in Paris you remember, don't you ? This electricity between us which pull us towards each other and it's still here, more present like before. Do you feel that too ? You whispered to me when we were in the elevator and was blocked between two floors.." I say and smile at the memory.
"And before I can think clearly, I feel my back hit the elevator wall and yours lips on mine.." I hear Elena whispering and look at her with new tears in my eyes. I get up and kiss her on the lips.

I loved writing what happened between Stefan and his mother. In future chapter I will deepen their relationship with Damon as well.
