Chapter fifteen.

Stefan's POV.

Elena is pregnant with twins. I can't stop rubbing her still flat belly, smiling. "Humm, Stefan you are waking me up.." she whispers and pulls herself closer to me.

"Sorry, baby." I chuckle. " I just want to feel them."

"You can't, it's too soon." she mumbles and tries to turn around but winces.

"Don't move, I will get out of bed." I say and begin to move.

"No, please I sleep better when you are next to me." she says and I kiss her temple.

I listen to her breath slow down and I know that she is asleep. I look at my Rolex and see that it's only four thirty. I will call Care soon, to tell her that Elena is fine and that she can come with Ella. I wrap my arms around her carefully try not to put pressure on her ribs, I inhale her scent and drift into sleep.

I wake up when I hear a noise next to me. I reach for Elena but she is not in the bed. "Hey, sleepyhead." Bonnie says when I open my eyes.

"What time is it ?" I ask and pass my hand over my face.

"It's just nine. Where is Elena ?" I ask when I scan the room and see her nowhere.

"She is in the bathroom with Kate." she says smiling.

"She should not move." I say and get out of bed.

"She is with Kate, Stefan don't worry." she says and I kiss her cheek.

"Where is my daughter ?" I ask and wait for Elena to leave the bathroom.

"At the cafeteria with Damon, Nik, Care and Emily. She is dying to see her Mama, she misses her."

"I know thank you for coming." I say and hear Elena cry.

I run towards the bathroom and open the door. I see her on the toilet, crying and Kate rubbing her back. "What's going on, baby ?"

"I can not get to get up that's all." she says angrily because she is so independent that I'm sure it's killing her to need help. Kate looks at me and I nod at her, she leaves and closes the door behind her.

"Baby, I can help you. You can't walk with your ribs and you have to be careful." I say and she shakes her head.

"Do you trust me ?" I ask changing tactics.

"Of course, I do, I trust you with my life." she responds making my heart melt.

I walk towards her and take her in my arms, slowly. She lets her tears escape and wraps her arms around my neck.

"It will be okay, you will be okay baby." I whisper in her ear and rub her back trying to slow down her tears.

"It hurts so much.." she whispers and when I open the door I see that we are alone. Bonnie and all our family are in the corridor waiting for Elena.

"I'll put you in bed." I say in her ear and kiss her ear.

"Thank you." she says and I kiss her lips. "Stop with that. I love taking care of you." I smile and she smiles back at me.

"Everyone is waiting for you, baby. They can come in ?" I ask and nods. I wipe her tears away and kiss her lips. They are so soft when she cried and she kisses me back with equal force.

"Go, open the door babe." she says and I kiss her forehead before opening the door.

"Mama ! Dada !" Ella screams and jumps in my arms.

"Hi baby girl !" I say and kiss her forehead.

"Mama ! Mama !" she says and tries to get out of my arms.

"Ella stop one second !" I say and she looks at me. "Mama is hurt, so I will put you next to her but be careful, okay ?"

She nods and wraps her arms around Elena the second I put her on the bed. "Mama ! I missed you so much.." she whispers and puts her head in the crook of Elena's neck.

"Me too, baby girl." she says and closes her eyes savouring this moment.

"Hi Lena." Damon says and kisses Elena's hair.

"Hey, you should have not come here, Damon." she says playfully.

"Of course, my best friend almost killed herself trying to saving her daughter and she did something incredible stupid !" he responds playfully and she squeezes his arms.

"I know, please let me takes Bonnie in my arms to thanks her because she can support you." she giggles and winces immediately.

"Stop making me laugh, Damon." she says and hugs Bon. "Auntie Lena !" Emily yells when she opens the door with Care and Nik behind her.

"Hey baby girl !" she smiles and tries to pick her up.

"Don't baby, I got her." I say and take her in my arms before posing her next to Ella who is a minute to pass out, she rubs her eyes.

"How are you Auntie Lena ?" Em asks with worried eyes and touches her ribs carefully.

"I'm fine sweetie, just a little tired." she responds and kisses her hair.

"Welcome back, Lena. I thought that I will be going to kick your a** but I think that Stefan has already done that." Nik says.

"Hello to you too Nik, I'm fine thank you." she says and winks at him.

"Don't do that ever again to me Elena Gilbert !" Caroline shouts at Elena.

"I'm happy to see you, Care and thank you for taking care of Ella for us." she responds with tears in her eyes.

Caroline hugs her and whispers something in her ear. Everybody stays with us during the day before leaving around 7PM because Elena got tired and thanks them. It's already 9PM when I walk in her room after calling Oliver my business partner, who is also a good friend. He said that he will go to Taiwan this week and I will have to go to New York next week because they want to sign with me.

"You okay, baby ?" I ask when she lies in her bed avoiding Ella who is sleeping.

"Yeah, but tired." she responds and closes her eyes, rubbing Ella's hair.

"I can take Ella home, if you want to sleep, you must be tired." I propose and kiss her lips softly.

"No, stay a little longer please. I missed her so much." she says and I kiss her knuckles.

"Okay, baby." I say and watch her fall asleep with our baby girl in her arms within minutes.

I have to see Taylor who is outside the door. I kiss Elena's and Ella's hair before quietly shutting the door.

"Sir." Taylor says and we shake hands . "How is Miss Gilbert ?"

"She is good, thank you." I say smiling.

"Press is outside, Sir. They know that you're here with Miss Gilbert and they also saw your brother and his fiancé. There are several articles about you and Miss Gilbert, I think they know that Miss Salvatore is your daughter, Sir."

"Stay, I will in a few minutes because Ella is sleeping and Elena needs rest. Get Christian and Lucas here to keep an eye on Elena's door. I don't want them near my daughter or Elena and I want everything on John and Katherine tonight." I say and he nods.

"Of course, Sir. I will call Bailey right away." Bailey is my IT manager, he can get you anything you want.

"Yes thank you, Taylor." I say and he nods.

I hear a cry and recognize Elena's scream. "Taylor come and get Ella, I will take care of Elena."

"No, no please.." Elena says and has tears rolling down her cheeks. Ella is still sleeping beside her and stirs a little. I don't want her to see her mother having a nightmare.

"Taylor take her, now and try not to wake her." Taylor takes her in his arms and leave us.

No, please you can't take her away from me, it's my daughter please.." she mumbles and I sit on her bed. I shake her a little trying to wake her up.

Her breathing slows down and I pull her against my chest, rubbing her back slowly. She doesn't wake up and pulls herself as close to me as possible. I wipe her tears away with my thumbs and I rock her from side to side. I wait until her breathing returns to normal and kiss her forehead. I take my phone and text Taylor that he can come back with Ella.

He enters and puts her next to Elena. I nod at Taylor and we leave the room. "I want a bed for Ella in Elena's room as soon as possible. I can't leave Elena alone here."

He nods "Anything else, Sir ?"

"Yes, go to Miss Gilbert's house and take clothes for her and Ella and also the letters in Elena's room on her dressing table. Oh and Ella's bag for school tomorrow. Tomorrow morning I want croissant and pain au chocolat before Ella has to go to school."

"On it, Sir." I nod and he leaves us.

I watch outside the window waiting for Taylor to return from the house. I think of my life, of how she changed completely in seven weeks since I find my family. Yes, my family I can't think of live without them in my life. I don't want to have to spend one day without them, I have to think of what can I do with my company. For now, I concentrate on Elena who is still at the hospital and pregnant with our children. Maybe she can leave the hospital tomorrow, I hope anyway.

Taylor enters in the room and put our stuff on the little table. He has a rollaway in his arms and open it. I take Ella slowly and put her in the bed, Taylor put a blanket over her little body. I kiss Ella's hair and secure her so she doesn't fall. He nods at me "Good night, Taylor."

I take the second letter Elena written for me and sit in the chair, caressing Elena's hand softly. I take deep breath and begin to read.

Friday, April 13 2012.

Dear Stefan,

It's been four day and I miss you so much my heart is constantly aching. I think of you every minute of everyday and I still want to go back to you. I'm in the house Caroline has in LA and she is with Nik in his. I try to go to the beach because my house is right next to the beach but when I arrived I saw a couple with their daughter playing in the sand. I wanted so much to be with you in this moment because I was so lonely, so broken and so sad. I wanted to be strong for me, for you and for our baby and stay enjoying the sun but I left because the pain was pure agony, watching some people happy and that I couldn't have that.

I listened to my voice mail and he heard that you are broken just like me. It's break my heart to hear you crying because of me. I did this to you and I'm sorry. I will never tell you how sorry I'm for did this to us.

I have an appointment with an obstetrician because I spotted a little yesterday. Don't worry, it can be normal, I know it can be I read it. I try to tell me that it's nothing but I'm scared because I can lose our baby but Caroline told that it could happen. Each time, I look at me in the mirror and imagine our baby.

I miss you Stefan. I hope that maybe one day I will come back to you sooner rather than later.

I love you Mon Amour more than anything in my life.

She almost lost Ella, how could she endure this on her own ? I know that Caroline was here with her but I want so much to live just one minute of her pregnancy with her. I miss this magic moment when our child grow inside her and she begin to show. She would be my wife by now if she didn't run away. I shake my head and clear my thoughts because I will focus on this pregnancy with two babies. I stare at Elena, looking at her face, these bruises begin to fade. I want to kill this fucker for what he did to her, he beat her whereas she was undefended.

I touch her cheek softly trying not to wake her but she stirs and blinks. "Hi baby." I say and kiss her forehead.

"What are you doing ?" she asks sleepy.

"Nothing, reading your letters and watching you sleep." I say and I caress her cheek, she leans into my touch.

"You don't sleep ?" she asks and moves towards me.

"I love watching you sleep, you know that." I say and rub my nose against hers.

"Where is Ella ?" she asks panicked.

"Look at the end of the bed." I say and help her to sit.

"Why you didn't come home with her ?"

"Because you had an nightmare and I couldn't let you alone. Plus, she is sleeping like a baby and she has her teddy bear."

"It's almost 2AM baby, you need to sleep."

"Come with me." she says push herself to let me climb in her bed.

"You are sure ?"

"Yes, please I sleep better when you are with me." she says and I let myself climb in bed and wraps my arms around her small body. I place my hands on her belly, and her on top of mine. I nip and kiss her neck before drifting to sleep.

A/N : So what do you think ?

In the next chapter, there will have a four months time jump ant it will be Ella's birthday. I will add more flashbacks in futures chapters and one of Ella's first birthday I think.
