Hey everyone.

Surprise!

It's not a new chapter!

Sigh, it's way too late for April Fools.

Let me get to the point. I know I haven't updated in months. It's bothering me just as much as it's bothering you. My inability to think of creative plot lines along with the hassles of my day to day life have kept me from writing any more than two thousand words for a new chapter.

As a result, I've been going over my work in hopes that I would get some sort of spark to jump-start my writing.

As you can obviously tell, it hasn't. In fact, it's made me realize something else about this story.

I hate it.

I honestly hate it.

The writing is sloppy and I tend to rip most of the dialogue straight from the source material. My jokes are corny and my pacing is terrible. I dropped into massive info dumps and Sieg's character is wishy washy. In addition, the idea of Imagine Shadow on a Prototype character sounded incredibly cool in my head... but is downright gamebreaking in hindsight. Heck, even Sieg's name doesn't fit within the context of the universe very well at all.

Granted it is my first story, but as I looked over it I kept telling myself, "Man, what was I thinking when I wrote this!"

As a result, I'm thinking of planning a rewrite of this story in the coming months. However, before I do anything hasty, I'd like to ask for your opinion on the matter.

So, I'm going to try and write an experimental first chapter for this rewrite as the next chapter of this story.

It's probably going to end up being a good deal darker, with more emphasis on the Prototype side of things. The moral fiber of the new main character is unlikely to be as strong as Sieg's either. I plan on having him sticking to Blacklight abilities only this time around, but he'll probably get some new adaptations to compensate. He'll also look older, closer to high school age than anything, but not quite old enough to utterly resemble Alex Mercer.

I want you guys to critique, and I mean seriously critique it or at least tell me what you liked about it. I really want to write a good story as in my opinion, the only fun stories to write are compelling stories (debatable, but I can't bring myself to intentionally write crack or a God-Mode Sue story).

Whether or not this ends up replacing my current story will be up to the responses you guys give me. If you guys don't like it, then I'll try my best to continue what I have already. If that's the case, I'm going to need reviews from all of you to keep my writing fresh and interesting.

That's all for now. I have SAT classes tomorrow morning and I need to catch some sleep.

Good night, and thanks for bothering to read the musings of this crappy writer.

P.S. On a more positive note, thank you all for getting me to ten thousand views! I had no idea people would actually be interested in the things a high schooler writes in his free time, and given the relative unpopularity of the topics I write about I wouldn't have been able to write over a hundred thousand words on a single story.

So... thank you. Really, I mean it.

I know, I say it far too often, but to know that people actually enjoy the works of a talentless guy like me, it means the world to me.

So once again, thank you all for reading, and I'll try my best not to disappoint you with announcements like this in the coming future.
