Greece – March 2015:
"So you do not forget…but you are still paying tonight."
Sax looks at me with a you-cannot-be-serious face. I smirk, but unfortunately our peaceful walk is brutally disturbed by Daen, one off our maybe-coworkers. It all depends on what Boss has to say – him and everyone else on the team. Daen has a mouth which often gets him in trouble with everyone on the team. So his chances are close to zero. No one really likes him. Daen always wants – needs to be right.
"Have you heard?" He yells. That man has like no manners at all, and he has like no sense of style, because those jeans please make them go away – Not because Daen is hot – he is not, but because they are…hideous, if that even can describe them.
"Daen, has Boss not told you to work on your manners?" Sax says. Seems like he thought the same thing as me. I know I befriended him for a reason. I smirk again.
"Look what you did; now Angel is smirking. Do you know, what that means?" Daen shakes his head as a no.
"That means someone, possibly you, will wake up without eyebrows. Do you want to lose your eyebrows?" Daen shakes his head again.
"Stop it, Sax. It only happened once and that thing had deserved it. Please I am only a bitch 99.99% of the time, and when there is a reason for it. What do you want to tell us, Daen?"
"We… are… going… home." He says really really slow like we are stupid or something. This just makes me want to hit even more. What? I know I am not a good person and that I will end up in Hel…
"Are you sure?"
"Yes… Boss told me… himself."
"Thank you. You may go." I cut him off. Daen is still so new and he does not know his place, which is pretty most a pain in the ass, because he needs to show everyone that he deserves to be on the team. Lately I have started to think that he is more trouble than he is worth. I think Boss thinks the same. I see Daen run back to camp. When he is out of hearing distance I say: "Daen will properly not make to the team."
"I think you are right. Boss should just cut him off. You know make it a clean back up."
"I like when you talk dirty to me." I say and blink to Sax.
"You know I am gay, right?"
"Of course, how could I forget?"
"You just… Never mind. So are you looking from to going home?"
"How can you ask such a question? What about you, my handsome gay boyfriend?" I know that I am a very bad person. But what can I say? I just cannot… let a chance like that slip away from me… Hey, you only live once.
"Sometimes I get a feeling that you do not listen to a word off what I say. Of course, when I am home I just want to hold Mikael in my arms."
"Just hold him? Wow, he has really gotten to you, your pussy." Zero, our Japanese coworker, says. I like him maybe because off his dirty, dirty mouth… Zero is our geek – he is a miracle worker, when it comes to technology. I do not know what any of us would do without him… We would properly die! Zero is like married to his computer. No one is allowed to even look at it. It is called 'Becca', and they have a very simple intimate relationship – Zero is the wife and Becca the man. (Becca so much has the pants on it that relationship.)
"Be nice to the pussy. Who knows you may be next?" It comes from Boss, whose real name is Bobby, so it is understandable, why he wants us to call him Boss. (He coerces us to call him Boss.) Boss is… well he is Boss.
"Come on Boss. Zero is already is a very intimate relationship with Becca." I say and laugh. Zero blushes.
"Angel is right." Boss says and the others are like "Oh. You did not just say that." Sax groans: "Please, you just made her ego bigger. No one wants that."
"Please and that comes from the man, who happens to be happily married." Zachary or Zaccy says. Zaccy is the team's badass. He is always in trouble and has always a crowd of girls on his back, because off his looks. Maybe he looks like an angel – one of the very too hot kind, but he is more like a lonely prince who is always admired for his good looks, but is too clever for his own good.
"What do you mean with that? Not all marriages are happily, just ask Angel. She off all should know." Boss says.
"Ooh, that would hurt… What do you say, Angel?" Daen says. I want to hit him. I look at Boss. He seems to understand, because he nodded once. I take that as I am allowed to teach him something he will not forget anytime soon.
"Well, in least I know love; can you say the same, Daen?"
"Of course I know love, we all do."
"No, 'we' do not. The love I am talking about is more than a mother's love for her children. No, the love I am talking about is all absorbing. You want to do anything, and I mean anything to be near the person, because if you are near him or her, you are happy – No matter anything else. All you can think about is the person. You will do anything to make the person happy – You will kill for the person, if they ask you to. Some people are lucky like Boss to meet this love once in their life. I, unlike many others, have met this kind off love twice in my life – I have married both of them. The first one burned to death while I watched, and the second one I divorced after I learned that he was unfaithful with a drug addicted and has a child with her. But in least I know love, you do not." I say and look at Daen.
"Daen, you have not made to the team. Please leave." Boss says and goes towards me. He thinks that I am sad. I am for Daen. Boss gives me a hug and looks wicked at Daen like it is his fault.
"Why did I not make to the team?" Daen ask, but his voice breaks over.
"You want to know? You do not know where there line goes between fun and dead serious. Tell me, who on this team do you actual like?"
"I cannot see what that has to do with anything." He just does not want to understand.
"You did not make the team, because you hurt Angel." Robin says. Rob, as he is called, is sort of the strong and silent type, who rarely speaks. But when he does, everyone listen. He is very protecting for the one's he loves – His family is his work family. He does not have a girlfriend or wife, because he thinks it would be rude for her giving he is at home so little.
"Maybe it was a stroke of bad luck, but you do not hurt family. Ever. And this is more than work. This is a family. Maybe it is a dysfunctional one, but it is a family. Boss is the father, who everyone loves to hate, but in secret loves and listens to. Plus he calls his wife like 5 times a day. Angel and Sax are the shady twins, who always are up to something bad that will eventually led them in to trouble. Without Sax to sort of control Angel, Angel would be an even bigger bitch and more broken then she already is. Sax would with lost without Angel, who always accepts him for who he is. Zero is the little brother too big of a geek and lives in his own little world with Becca, but in secret he just wants to be like everyone else. Zaccy is a lonely prince, who people admire for his looks, but all he really wants is to be accepted as a human being, not a lovely charm who can be shown to the world, when needed. He does not enjoy the admiration, he hates it. Rob barely speaks, but when he does everyone listens, because they want him to feel that he can speak whenever he feels like it. And that leaves me, and all knows that I am a man of action. There is no place for you on this team, so go home." Alec, our last member, says. Alec is the least damaged person on this team, and that says a lot giving that Alec is from a family where assault and battery were normal. He grew up with violence and that has left him scarred for life. I am glad that he, today, has us, and he has Rob. They have been best friends, since middle school.

"Everyone on this team is beyond repair. Broken in so many ways that I sometimes do not think that any of us can be put back together, but every time I am wrong. I am glad I am wrong. But my question to you: Are you spoiled, ruined, broken, destroyed, devastated, worn out, wrecked, shattered, undermined, damaged, extensively damaged, irreparably damaged, damaged beyond repair, simply beyond repair, battered or torn?"
