Got bored at work and was reading this fanfic, figured I had some time, so I wrote this up on my iPad. Sorry if it sucks. I'll probably start writing more, it was fun.
Hermione laid in bed trying to decide if she was going to get out of it today. She had been sick for almost three full days now and though she was feeling better she hadn't quite made her mind up if she was ready to face everyone yet.
"Granger! Get up." Draco said breaking her thoughts.
"No, I'm sick." Hermione replied covering her face with her pillow.
"No your not, come on get up." Hermione let out an exasperated whine as she got into the sitting position.
"But I'm excused from classes for another two days."
"I know, get up. I have plans for us. I already spoke with Dumbledore and he agreed to let me take you away from Hogwarts for a day." Draco zippered up his green hoodie and slid his feet into a pair of black boots. Hermione watched him as he ran his fingers through his platinum blonde hair causing it to spike in the front instead of laying flat like normal. She felt herself blush as she stood up to get dressed and softly told Draco she liked his hair. He turned in the opposite direction to avoid her seeing his smile.
"What type of clothing should I wear?"
"Something comfortable but warm. And we are going to be doing some walking on trails. So maybe boots." Hermione nodded in understanding as she grabbed clothes from her wardrobe and stepped into the bathroom to change. She had no idea where her and Draco where going, or even if she should go with him. Apart of her wondered if there were any dangers she was overlooking. What if he was taking her to a forest full of death eaters where they would torture her for information about Harry or the Ministry.
She realized she had never actually feared for her safety when she was with Draco. Though she knew what side of the war he was on he for some reason didn't feel like a threat to her. As she stepped out of the bathroom, Draco was seated at the edge of his bed waiting for her.
"Where are we going Malfoy."
"You'll see when we get there."
"And you said Headmaster Dumbledore knows we are leaving?"
"Yes." Draco nodded. "What? You don't trust me." Hermione let out a laugh, shook her head and mouth 'Ya think?'
"Well I want to tell Harry I'm leaving."
"Look, I know you're going to miss your little boyfriend, but we aren't going to be gone that long. And I told Sarah last night that me and you were leaving to take care of some head student business. I told her to let Potter know so he wouldn't worry. She agreed to pass the message along. Her and your boyfriend seem to be close friends."
"Are you trying to imply something?" Hermione asked suspiciously. Draco smirked and shook his head no.
"Look, we need to be heading out. No time for arguing." Draco said grabbing Hermione's hand and leading her out of their bedroom.
Meanwhile Harry and Ginny sat alone in the Gryffindor common room both wanting to say something to each other but not quite sure what to say.
"So..." Harry said finally breaking the silence.
"So you and Hermione, huh?" Ginny rushed the words out as if she had been bottling them up for so long.
"Yeah, you know I wanted to talk to you about that. I know what happened between us was intense and real, and you have to know that I care so much about you. But me and Hermione just makes sense to me. We've been friends forever, she's always been there for me. And you, well you have this Josh kid."
"Yeah, I do have Josh. And honestly I wouldn't have ever turned to him, or even left the Burrow for the summer like I did, if you hadn't treated me like you did. I never thought of you as that kind of guy but Harry, you told me you loved me. You told me you'd always be there and I believed you." Ginny said beginning to tear up. "I believed you, so I gave myself to you, I let you be my first and when it was all done you barely spoke with me for two weeks after, so I left. You told me that you'd always be there and you weren't, you lied."
Harry's heart sank to the very pit of his stomach. He knew Ginny was right. He did take her virginity and he panicked after. He froze up, and didn't know how to act around her anymore. He shut her out, and now he could clearly see the damage he had done. He needed to be honest with her.
"Gin, I'm so sorry." He said as he gently wiped a tear from her check. "I know that I can never make up for what I did, and how I acted, but you have to know that when I told you I loved you, that was real, that wasn't a lie. You know everyone always says that when you lose your virginity to someone you're always going to be attach to them, but no one ever tells you the other side. No one tells you them impact it takes on you to be the person that takes that virginity. It's as if you now have been in trusted with that persons innocence. And yeah I freaked out. I broke under the pressure of realizing that I could never be worthy of you. So I shut you out and I am so, beyond measure, sorry!" He pulled her into a tight hugged and whispered sorry over and over again in her ear.
Ginny finally pulled away after a few minutes and looked Harry directly into his eyes. She could see the pain and regret in his eyes. It made her hurt for him but she knew how things had to be.
"Harry, you have no idea how much I've wanted to hear you says those words. More than anything in the world, but you're with Hermione now. And she's my best friend. You treat her right. Treat her like she should be treated." And with that she stood and walked away to her room.
Harry knew that Ginny was right, he knew that he should have treated her better, and he knew that he needed to treat Hermione better.
Not too much happened this chapter, but it's leading to a pretty eventful next chapter. What do you guys think?
