Again bored at work, and quickly wrote this up on my iPad. I saw this story got a good amount of new people following it, so I hope you guys enjoy!
Hermione and Draco walked along a trail in the forest, not exchanging too many words. Hermione still felt a little sick and the walking and climbing wasn't making her feel any better. She tried to tough it out for a while but finally she needed a break.
"Malfoy, I need to stop." Hermione said faintly. Draco turned around to see her hunched over with sweat dripping down her forehead. He quickly knelt beside her and brushed her hair out of her face.
"Granger, are you alright?" Draco asked worriedly.
"I'm okay, I just feel light head. I need to rest my legs."
"I'm sorry I brought you out here. I didn't realize you were still so sick."
"I felt pretty good this morning but I think the extra activity wore my body back down."
"Well, we are very close to our destination. If you're comfortable with it, I can carry you the rest of the way. You'll be a lot more comfortable resting your body there than here." Hermione nodded in understanding and mouthed 'okay' in response.
Draco swooped her up in his arms, and began to carry her through the forest. Hermione couldn't help but bury her head into his shoulder to hide her burning red cheeks. The feeling of being to close to Draco made her blush like a little school girl. It made her insides feel like they were engulfed in a painless flame. She thought back to the times when they had been intimate before, like the first kiss in the berth on the train, the first night they spent together in their room, even their first lesson when Draco was teaching her how to kiss, none of them made her feel like she did now. She gently pressed her lips against Draco's neck, not kissing him, just letting them rest there. Draco smiled as she did this.
"We're here." Draco said breaking the silence that they had been in for the past 10 minutes. Hermione lifted her head to see where they were. She gasped as she took the sight in. Her eyes first spotted a beautiful lake with sparkling water that radiated in the sunlight. Behind the lake was a gorgeous wooden cabin, surrounded by lilac flowers. Draco continued to walk, bringing her inside. The entire cabin smiled of the flowers that surrounded it. The interior reminded her of their room back at Hogwarts. It was fancy but not over the top, cozy and quaint. Hermione instantly felt at ease when Draco laid her down in a bed with an abundance of white pillows and a giant white down comforter.
"This place is heavenly. Where are we?" Hermione asked.
"This is my mothers cabin. She use to come her during the summer as a child, and she use to bring me here sometimes as well, when my father would allow it." Draco responded sitting on the edge of the bed.
"Don't get me wrong, I love it here, but can I ask why we came?"
"Well, you had been sick, and hadn't left our room. I just figured maybe you could use some time away. Plus I figured you weren't ready to face a bunch of people after you'd been out for three days."
"You're sweet." Hermione responded with a smile.
"Sweet?" Draco laughed. "I've never been called sweet before. But are you feeling better? I felt awful when I saw that you were still sick and I brought you all the way out here."
"I still feel weak but honestly I wouldn't want to be anywhere else right now. Please don't feel bad."
"Not to worry you but do you think that there is something seriously wrong? I mean you've been really sick for a while now, and you'll get better for a little while but then your sick again. I'm worried about you."
"See, there you go being sweet again," Hermione smiled. "But I'm not too worried. I went to Madame Pomfrey the second day I was sick and she said everything seemed to be fine so it must just be a stomach virus or something similar. But I sure do wish it would go away."
"Well how about I make you some soup? Maybe that will help a little." Hermione nodded her head yes. "Do you want chicken noodle, like I made the other day for you?" Again she nodded yes. So Draco stood and walked over to the small kitchen area that was still visible from the bed and began to cook.
"You know, you've been really good to me. Anything you can do to help you do it. Even without being asked. I'm not sure what changed from last year to now, but I'm glad it did."
"I am too, Granger." Draco said as he walked back over to the bed with a bowl of soup and handed it to her. "I think that we make a good team."
"I think we do too." Hermione said with a smile. "So... What's going on with you and Sarah? You guys have been spending a decent amount of time together lately."
Draco let out a laugh and smirked. "Well we are friends. She's a cool girl. We, how should I word this, uh we have similar interest."
"That's good. I'm not particularly fond of her but, I guess it's good that you like her."
"Why don't you like her?" Draco asked with a laugh.
"Well you see, I don't like that way she clings to Harry. Like she doesn't know he has a girlfriend. And I don't like how..." Hermione quickly stopped talking once she realized what she was about to say.
"What? What else don't you like?"
"Nothing."
"Come on, tell me." Draco said gently placing his hand on Hermione's leg.
"Well, do you remember the first night we met her?" Draco nodded acknowledging that he did. "On the way to the Gryffindor common room you held my hand. And after when we left on the way back to our room, you didn't hold my hand. I kind of feel like it was because of her."
"Granger, do you like me?" Draco asked slightly surprised by her answer. Hermione's cheeks turned bright red but she bravely responded.
"Yeah, do you have a problem with that?"
"No. Not at all." Draco said just before embracing her in a passionate kiss.
Originally this chapter was a lot longer but I split it into two. I will post the second part soon! Review and tell me what you guys think! Xoxo
