Short finish up from last chapter.
As Draco parted his lips from Hermione's he looked into her eyes. He could tell that she was happy but he also saw something else.
"What's wrong?" He questioned.
"I like you, and I think it's kind of obvious now that you like me as well but I have a boyfriend who just so happens to be my best friend, who just so happens to be your enemy. I can't do this to Harry."
"Harry Potter. I swear I feel like I can't get away from him." Draco said frustratedly. He had still been having various zone outs which all ended with the echoing words 'long live Harry Potter'. Not only did he know he would eventually compete with Harry in battle, he also had to compete with him for space in his own thoughts, and on top of that he was competing with him for the same girl.
"Listen to me." Hermione said placing her hands on either inside of his face. "I want you. But even if we were to find away to actually date it could only be a fling. With the events that are going to transpire it could only be that. We are on opposite sides of an inevitable war." Draco refused to accept that. He knew that it would be hard, but he wanted Hermione more than anything, and he wasn't going to let Harry or Voldemort stand in the way of that.
"Okay, well let's make an agreement then. Let's get to know each other. Let's be friends, let's be a little more than friends. But let's not be enemies. Yes we are on opposing sides but this isn't our war. Let's be whatever this is that we are for as long as we can be."
"I like the sound of that." She responded with a smile. "And I do really want to get to know you better but let's not forget that I am in a relationship."
"Trust me, I cant forget even if I tried." Draco said with a half hearted smile. "Can I come lay next to you?" Hermione nodded yes and scooted over so Draco could lay by her side. It wasn't long before they both fell asleep.
