Disclaimer: It's obvious I don't have Tales of Xillia, because it is properties of Bandai Namco.

Everyone… I have a confession to make. After keeping my eyes purity from the danger of boys love for almost 19 years, I fall for the temptation… I'm still not capable of writing them so don't expect my fingers to fall for it, my fingers are still straight! (Is that a good thing?) I'm quite picky on these things so except I fell for it or anyone made me fall for it, what I read in that area is limited (And I really hope you don't recommend any to me). Anyway, enough of my sinful confession we should get on the story since we have a date to crash! *cough* So, I hereby present you the next chapter of Memories From Back Then, Chapter 15 "Spying is a universal hobby".

Milla POV

"Trigleph Amusement Park?"

I was doing the report for my father when Leia called me about that. Of course, I had come to this so-called Trigleph Amusement Park that Leia told me because… well, practically, it is mine, it isn't actually mine but it is one of my family businesses so it is still mine. Maxwell Corporation ranged from everyday things to some recreational place and so it isn't weird to own a theme park or two.

But that wasn't the point of the conversation since it sounded like Leia had more to say. I wondered why Leia asked me about that place at the first place. Albeit she looked like that, she wasn't one who threw around invitation for outing except she knew that either I or Mai was tired of our responsibility and needed some rest. Sometimes I wondered whether Leia is considerate for us or simply bored.

"Yeah! Mai told me that that foolish Jun finally asked her for a date! THAT kind of romantic DATE! Let me spell that for you again, D-A-T-E!" Leia elaborated with a shout that forced me to give some distance between my poor ears and the phone. She sounded terribly suspicious when she mentioned the reason especially on how she said the word 'date'. It only took me split second to understand what she wanted to say.

'Here we go again…' I thought as I placed a hand over my forehead as I reached to that answer since by now I knew Leia's train of thought in this area. At least Leia didn't blatantly tell me what she planned to do and let me guess it by myself.

I tried to resist the urge to sigh as I said, "So, you asked me to come with you to spy them?"

I could sense that Leia was laughing at the end of the line. I took that as a 'yes' to what I believed since that course of action was so like Leia. I didn't need her to confirm it but she said it anyway, saying, "You really know your stuff Milla. Come on let's go! I'm sure we could see something fu-… I mean help them move things forward!"

'You certainly didn't sound like you are going to help them though…' I mentally responded as I knew that she simply wanted to spy on them for fun, nothing more. It even took me a great effort from me to not sarcastically say 'Sure, you want to help' while rolling my eyes or something like that.

Back to business, I tapped my index finger as I measured the advantage and disadvantage of tagging along. I would get an entertaining show of those two foolish couple first date if I tagged along, that's for sure. In the fact of an actual benefit, it could be a fieldwork for me as it had been awhile since the last time I took a look of the park. Of course, they had send annual report of the park condition but none of the main officer bothered to check it out in reality since it is one of the smaller business we had. It won't hurt though to take a quick check over the report and made few inputs here and there. I'm not particularly busy either.

I couldn't really think of any disadvantage and even if I were to get caught in act then Leia would gets most of the beating. If things looked dire, I could just sneak away and left her to her fate since Mai is very scary when you made her mad. Leia seemed like she turned impatient as she waited for my answer and I smirked at what decision I had arrived after measuring the advantage and disadvantage of coming.

"Count me in."

(The Next Day…)

I stepped out from my house as I informed the maid in the house that I was leaving to Trigleph Amusement Park and told them to create a random reason for random stranger who asked about my whereabouts. It was just a precaution in case some bullet decided to chase after me. It went without saying that if it was any of my siblings, although it was unlikely for any of them to visit, they may tell them where I actually was.

I tried my best to look normal to avoid suspicion. I wore white sleeveless turtleneck with blue half-transparent cardigan over it and peach-colored mini-skirt. I also wore low-heel brown boots that reached a little bit below my knees. Under it I wore white sock that reached my thigh. To complement it I brought small bag that I used to store my phone and wallet and also to hide my camera, you know for blackmailing stuff in case things go south. I also brought some stuff that Muzét made for me in case of emergency.

I walked to the bus stop where I promised to meet up with Leia. As expected of Leia, she was late for over 20 minutes of the promised time like usual. She told me that she woke up late since she is too busy choosing what to wear for our… spying today.

To be honest I don't think that Leia would actually looked normal for our plan today. She did look like she is the kind of person who will wear all black, like those spies in the movies, and brought black sunglasses. But in reality, her clothing is pretty normal with light brown T-shirt with yellow jacket and brown shorts. She wore a brown cap and wore simple sneakers with white socks.

"So normal… this is surprising," I unconsciously muttered what I think about her choice of clothing when I saw her attire.

"What's with that Milla? Do you take me for a fool?!" Leia protested as she lightly punched my shoulders. I couldn't help but giggled at her reaction.

"Sorry, I didn't mean that. You look cute in fact," I responded trying to apologize for my poor choice of words. Well, Leia isn't exactly bright but she is bright enough to not act suspicious.

"Sometimes I think you are too easy to flatter someone Milla…" Leia sighed hearing my reply while massaging her temple lightly.

I tilted my head to the side since I don't understand why she would say it like that. I'm being honest here so I simply asked, "Is it bad for me to tell you what I think? I thought you prefer honesty over anything…"

"Okay, let's stop really Milla. I understand that is simply how you are born so let's stop this…" Leia said as she held out her right palm to my direction. I simply nodded at that since there is no reason for me to continue if Leia wanted to stop.

After that, Leia elaborated me of her self-claimed perfect plan until the bus we boarded come. When we boarded the bus, Leia changed the subject immediately and albeit I should have expected it, it was about me. And if it is about me then it must be about Jude.

"Say Milla. Lately you and Jude are close, right?" she asked practically out of nowhere. Not exactly out of nowhere but aren't we talking about Mai and Jun here?

I turned slightly red at the mention of our closeness. Indeed compared to how we were at spring, we were indeed much closer right now. But I quickly denied anything that Leia hinted as I said, "We are close Leia, but not in how you pictured it. We were close as friend, no more and no less."

"You are closer to him than any other girl ever though, if you cross my name from the list since I am his childhood friend. Don't you think that give you more chance on confession if you ever planned one?" Leia added as she innocently (or maybe she simply didn't care) made a remark on our closeness.

I lost my words after that one remark. Jude was renowned as someone who never let any girl entered his life, except for few. By how Leia told me and how I experienced it before that event, I knew that Jude completely neglected those around him. I would always find him in the middle of studying or reading a medical book.

Of course, I already learned that he isn't someone who would do that on purpose, because he is very gentle and caring. It was simply because he studied a lot that he rarely goes around with his classmate or someone remotely his friends, for all I knew Jude's close friend is only Jun. As Leia said, I was indeed much closer than any other girl in her life. But at the same time, our closeness isn't a romantic one but more of a friendly one. We enjoy spending time with each other especially when Leia had this half-crazy idea to help Mai and Jun progress their relationship. It tends to go awry so Jude and I often avoid to be caught in the middle of it.

"But, we are friend…" I murmured as I tried to stop the topic right here. I didn't want to place too much hope this early. Jude and I had much in common, but it would only bring us to friendship and not anything else beyond that. Not to mention we knew each other less than half a year.

Honestly, I don't even know whether I actually wanted to have a romantic relationship with Jude in the first place…

"I guess staying as friend for now is fine, but don't take it too long or you will be friend-zoned for eternity," Leia told me with a hidden seriousness though she had a mischievous tone.

I pouted since I knew what she implied with being 'friend-zoned'. I let out a deep breath as simply replied with, "I know, but…"

"But?" Leia asked since she apparently heard what I said.

Being friend with Jude already made me happy enough so I don't know if I want more than that. I knew what would happen if I 'confess' and by chance Jude accepted it. I had watched how Muzét and Gaius-oniisama acted around each other and I don't think I want to be like that with Jude. Sure, my feeling for him is more than a friend but I don't think I could measure it with them. Maybe that's why I think it is better to remain like this for now…

"No, nothing," I replied to Leia as I looked outside of the bus from the window. I could feel Leia wanted to interrogate me further but I gave her the silent treatment.

'I wonder what Jude will think if he know this… would he hate me for not being clear? Or would he be glad because he felt the same way that it is better to maintain our status quo? Do I want him to stay with me? I don't know… I don't even know if I want to know…' I thought as I watched the passing scenery outside.

At this kind of time, I envy Mai for knowing what she wanted to be with that Jun. I guess I need to learn one thing or two from her.

The trip to the amusement park was uneventful after that talk. We had known when Mai and Jun would meet up and even with Leia lateness we were still fairly earlier compared to them. We looked around for Mai who would appear earlier than the time promised and finally found her sitting in front of the amusement park mascot just as we expected.

After sighting her, we both hid behind another statue that wasn't in her field of vision. When we were sure that Mai didn't notice our presence, we decided to watch over her from both side of the statue because fitting two people in one side is slightly too much (and too suspicious). I took the liberation to analyze her choice of clothes since this is date after all.

Mai looked like she spent a lot of time choosing her dress. She wore pink V-neck one piece with maple leave printed on the lower part of it and over it she wore puffy jacket that only reached her chest. I never knew that Mai do high-heels but right now she wore strapped high-heels with frilly sock that reached her ankle. She put on white ribbon on the small part of her hair that she braided. I didn't think Jun, or any other guy in that matter would notice it, but Mai put up make-up.

She also brought a basket along with her. I bet in it was homemade lunch for the two of them. It looked like she knew that Jun loves glasses in one way or another since she wore her glasses, but just different kind. When I knew how Jun actually loves them, I felt slightly insulted but at least his eyes are good enough to spot a fine girl like Mai. She used to wear oval glasses with hanged black frame, but now she wore frameless rectangular glasses with brown handle.

"Mai sure looks cute…" I commented after I judged her appearance right now. And I'm positive that Jun would have another serious monologue that last for the whole day if only Mai wasn't around. Jun never actually did that in front of me but there is this one time where I accidentally stumbled upon him with Jude in the middle of his monologue about Mai. Seriously, I feel bad to Jude who was with him and applauded him for bearing through it all.

"Now, we needed to see ourselves how Jun fares right?" Leia said with weirdly malicious tone. Somehow I had the feeling that I need to step back from whatever Leia had in mind.

"What if he didn't match our judgment?" I asked as I looked at Leia who were cracking her fist. Just what she planned to him?

"We kill him."

"And then?"

"Sent him to hospital?"

I sweatdropped at the last answer that sounded more like a question rather than statement. Who in the right mind would kill a person and then sent its remains to hospital? Maybe Leia did but really, was she even serious? There is no way that she would send Jun, as much as he deserves it, to hospital… right?

"Whatever you say then… ah, here comes the devil," I replied as I looked at the person that was running frantically to Mai's direction. If it wasn't obvious enough, it was Jun. When he was close enough for me to observe him clearly, I took some appearance check on him.

He actually tried to escape his signature red jacket but to fail partly, though I gave him an A for effort. He wore red T-shirt with brown-red jacket over it. He wore black trousers as well, classic. It seemed like he couldn't escape the clutch of sport shoes as he wore red sneakers that I recognized to be from some famous brand. Well at least he tried to change his attire and he looked very serious at it.

"So what do you think of him? I gave him a passing grade for his effort," I said to Leia who settled from the left side of the statue while I took the right.

"He looked slightly too casual for a date but Jun is that kind of person so I don't think he would wear suit or something like that. That kind of thing is more to Jude so I'm sure he will fulfill your expectation when the two of you have your date," Leia commented lightly before she gave me this disturbing expression when she mentioned the last part of it.

"Geez, Leia. It isn't like Jude and I will go to a date anytime soon…" I responded while trying to block my mind from imagining how Jude would look like in our date… if there would be any. Crap, Leia is clearly rubbing off on me.

"Don't be shy Milla. I'm sure you two will work something out! I bet you guys will go on a date at New Year…" Leia said with a teasing tone as she threw around her usual random bet.

"Leia, you are really… Aren't we supposed to spy on Mai and Jun? We should focus on them instead…" I responded while trying to hide the rising heat off my face. I turned my eyes to Mai and Jun and I swore Leia giggled at my reaction. I mentally frowned since she looked like she enjoyed this a little bit too much.

Anyway, I see that Mai and Jun talked to each other and Mai laughed politely at something Jun had said. But from the distances Leia and I were in, we couldn't hear anything at all. I deduced that it was along the line of Jun's lateness, though in fact he was quite early. Leia recognized that we couldn't hear whatever they talked about and said, "Should we close our distance?"

I took some liberty of thinking about the way out. It would be dangerous for us to close in our distance since they might found out about us and we couldn't afford to be found out, Mai is that scary when she is angry she isn't famous for being the scariest disciplinary committee for nothing. But we had a trouble since we couldn't hear anything that they were talking about. It wouldn't be much of a spying if we couldn't understand what they were talking about.

It was then my gaze landed on the entrance and reminded about one of my sister tools for spying in actual meaning. I felt bad for Mai and to abuse my position as a rightful owner of this place, but whatever, an emergency situation needed an emergency handle. I gently tapped Leia's shoulders and said, "Wait for a minute, okay?"

Leia looked at me with surprised expression as I departed to the entrance of the amusement park, carefully avoiding Mai and Jun's line of vision. Since the park was still not too crowded, I managed to talk with one of the ticket wearer since the ticket was in form of a waterproof bracelet. Trigleph Amusement Park ticket worked like an accessory (Muzét's idea) so the visitor brought a bracelet from the counter and brought it to the ticket wearer as they placed it on their wrist.

Technical stuff aside, when the ticket wearer asked for my ticket I calmly said, "Did you already forget the face of the heiress of Maxwell Corp.?"

The ticket wearer quickly looked up and so he was face to face with me. He looked surprised, startled, shocked, you name it when he realized who I am. He quickly stood straightly and asked, "What could we be of service, Lady Maxwell?"

I tried to hold my laughter since his reaction is quite a thing. I held up my palm in order to reassure him as I said, "Calm down or you will blow my cover. I'm not coming in for inspection, I was just doing my job as a friend… and my friend today had a date with her crush and I wanted to make sure I knew who the lucky person is."

He looked baffled at my reasoning since it was obvious that I'm abusing my power. But before he could ask anything, I said, "Well, could you slip this device into her ticket then? My friend is the one over there… after that, you could work as usual. If I found our conversation and my presence here was all over the park, I'm going to have a good long talk with your manager."

He was frantic on my threat. He quickly nodded his head as he took the device I mentioned. Then I walked back to Leia's place as I reported, "When they entered the park, we would hear what they are talking about clearly."

"Just what you had done, Milla?" Leia asked in disbelief. Maybe she saw what I had done to the ticket wearer. After all, his face had changed into all short of colors, from indifference until pure terror.

I chuckled lightly as I pulled out a pair of portable earphone that Muzét gave me when I was still young. This was one of my tools to escape those stupid persistent kidnappers and that included the device that I gave to the ticket wearer just now. I gave one of the pair to Leia as I said, "Just coaxing him to cooperate with few empty threats. Here Leia, put it on and make it fast since it looked they had moved on. We should move on as well."

Leia looked at me questioningly as she took the earphone that I gave her. She decided to not questioning me again, however as I dragged her to enter the amusement park. I laughed at her ridiculous expression when we started hearing Mai and Jun's conversation. I knew this would be fun. Spying is a universal hobby after all.

All hail to the birth of our spies! I actually wanted to make a story about Sport Festival but I guess I could hold it off for the next cycle. I don't know how Amusement Park worked in other country but at least in mine, most of them used bracelet made from waterproof paper or something since they have pool and amusement park mixed into one. Oh and all Milla's interesting gadget is courtesy of Muzét. More of Muzét's gadget for later XD
