Wasn't doing anything at work so I figured it upload this. So here's chapter fifteen. I hope you guys enjoy.
So, what about your family? Is it weird for them having a daughter that's a witch?" Draco asked Hermione as they sat in wooden chairs by the lake. They had been talking for over a hour, just trying to get to know each other's personal lives.
"My parents had a lot of questions, they still have a lot of questions, but they are supportive. I love them for that."
"Well how could they not be supportive with a daughter like you. You're amazing." Draco responded. Hermione blushed brightly.
"Okay. Okay. I've been rambling on for over an hour about my life. Tell me something about yours?"
"My life isn't very interesting, nor very fun to talk about."
"Come on Draco! Tell me something."
"You just called me Draco."
"Wow, I didn't even realize I did." Hermione smiled. "I guess it rolls off the tongue well. It's kind of sexy." She continued in almost a whisper. Draco reached over and grabbed her hand to hold and smiled brightly at her.
"So are you going to tell me something about your life now? We are supposed to be getting to know each other. At least give me one story."
"Okay, let me think. Well there was the first time I went on vacation with my father, just my father. We went to New York."
"Really? Like New York, New York? Muggle New York?"
"Yeah, my father had business to attend to and my mother was away taking care of my grandfather, so he had to take me. So when we arrived he left almost immediately to go on some meetings. I sat in the hotel by myself for hours, and I was a ten year old boy, so of course I was curious. So I left. And I began to wander around. I don't know if you've ever been to New York but it's a huge place." Hermione shook her head no acknowledging that she'd never been.
"Well, it's massive. Probably because I was so little at the time. But anyways I wandered around, taking subways and ferry rides, and eventually I ended up in Coney Island. Coney Island is the most amazing place. It's like every fun thing you could ever imagine in one place. Then I saw it. The cyclone." Draco made silly spinning motion with his hand that wasn't holding Hermione's.
"I had never been on a roller coaster before, and just as I was about to get in line someone grabbed my arm and pulled me back. It was my father. And he began yelling at me about how he'd been looking for me for hours and that I shouldn't go off like that. Then he told me it was time to go. And even though I wanted to go on that roller coaster more than anything I knew better than to argue with my father. So I began to walk behind him. I guess my father turned around and saw how crushed I was and he stopped. And I'll never forget what he said after that.
'We shouldn't be mingling with these filthy people. But for you, Draco, just this once we will.'
I had never been so happy in my life. I think that was one of the very few times I've ever hugged my father. And you probably can't even imagine this but my father got on the roller coaster with me, and we laughed and smiled like we were a normal father and son. That's my favorite memory of him." As Draco finished his story he stared off in the distance with a blank look on his face. A few moments passed before Hermione realized that Draco was troubled. She leaned over and kissed him lightly on the cheek. This broke his concentration as he turned and looked at her.
"You know I can't actually imagine it." Hermione said with a laugh.
"Imagine what?" Draco asked puzzled.
"Your father on a roller coaster. I mean was his hair down? Was it like blowing all in his face?" This made Draco laugh too.
"No, it was pulled back." Draco smiled. "You know my father has a lot of faults and I don't tell a lot of people this, but he hasn't been the best father, but he is my family. I have his loyalty and he has mine."
"I understand that. Harry's my family. That's why even though you say this isn't our war, it is. I'd protect Harry at any cost. And you'd protect your father at any cost. I guess that's just the roles we fall in."
"Let's stop talking about how different we are. Let's live in this moment. Let's be on whatever side we want to until it really matters."
"I like that idea." Hermione said as she stood up and pulled out her wand, pointing it at Draco. "I am a death eater today."
"I am a loyal follower of the Boy Who Lived." Draco responded also pulling his wand out, pointing it at Hermione.
"You'll never win this fight. All hail lord Voldemort." Hermione said then mutter a spell that caused hundreds of bubbles in the shape of hearts to come flying from her wand right at Draco. He quickly jumped out of the way and grabbed Hermione by the waist and jumped into the lake. They were both laughing hysterically as they came up from under the water. Draco brushed Hermione's wet curly hair out of her face and looked deep into her eyes.
"You are the most extraordinary person I've ever met." He said just before pulling her into a kiss.
-Later that night-
"Drake, we need to talk." Sarah said as she walked into the small library off the side of Draco and Hermione's common area. "Now that you are finally back!"
"Now?" Draco questioned. Sarah nodded her head and waved her head ushering him towards her. Draco realized it was probably something important and turned towards Hermione.
"I'll be right back Granger." Hermione mouthed okay and glared over at Sarah. Sarah smirked back at her.
"She doesn't like me very much, does she?" Sarah asked Draco once they were out of hearing distance from Hermione.
"No, no she doesn't." Draco responded. "So what's going on?"
"I wanted to give you a heads up that Harry knows what's going on with you two."
"What do you mean?"
"Well I used you two being gone to my advantage, like you said I should. I implied some things about you and her, and Harry of course caught on."
"So does he think we are fucking, or secretly dating or what?"
"Well we didn't go into too much detail about the circumstances surrounding you guys but, I'm pretty sure he thinks it's everything. Like you guys are together."
"Oh." Draco said running his fingers through his hair. "And he didn't freak out?"'
"Well he did a little but then I convinced him that if she had something going on on the side, that he should too."
"And?"
"And then I gave him a blowjob." Sarah responded shrugging her shoulders. Draco coughed lightly.
"Wow okay, well good for you I guess."
"Thanks. So what's going on with you and Girl wonder?"
"We're friends. We have feelings for each other but we are not giving each other head." Draco said with a slight smile. Sarah laughed.
"Too bad. I thought a man with your known skills would have gotten a lot further than that."
"Friends is a really big step considering we've been enemies for the past seven years. I'll say that's progress."
"Well make some more progress Drake. I've got Harry in my grasp and I'm not letting him go now. Use the info I gave you however you wish. You can tell her, you can hint it, whatever you like, just seal the deal bro."
Let me know what you guys think! Xoxo.
