Disclaimer: It's obvious I don't have Tales of Xillia, because it is the properties of Bandai Namco.
Ah... er... hello... I guess? Well, okay, it has been like forever since I appeared or anything and I admit the amount for this one isn't amazing or anything. I have no excuse except for the usual college stuff but there is actually another major reason for my disappearance.
To make it short, I'm making a game, a Visual Novel to be precise.
What? I have been writing on all sort of original story that never made it to light just because I am plain lazy on putting up something in blog, wordpress, tumblr, well, you name it. Anyway, while I just do it in my cramped free time, I'm still working on that. The title is 'Sacred - The Price of Desire' and the title is still prone to change. I am working on it with my friend in college and it is still in a plain text so it will take like forever to actually finish it what's with GUI, Art, Music, and the stuff.
So, my point is I will take even longer to update things. Bless this story because I already have the draft up to 30 or something I forgot so I will update when I must update. I promise I will at least try to finish this so rest assured, it won't end up in Dropped list just yet.
That's all from me I guess I hope you enjoy this chapter and oh, if I actually finished the game I will put up an announcement here and... (maybe) future development blog so I hope you will find some time to play them in the far future. Enough with my rambling. Now, I present you all with the next chapter of Memories From Back Then 'Siblings Outing' I hope you will leave some review down there~
Jude POV
I was eating my breakfast with Elize just the two of us since our parents have job and they left early in the morning. We had told them that I planned to bring Elize to Amusement Park and they easily let me do that. It looked like my mother knew that Elize lacked family outing ever since she came to this house especially since I wasn't back yet until this year and because Father and Mother were too busy on hospital to take her into one. But because Elize is a very good and kind girl, never once I heard her complain about being lonely.
Today Elize wore a Victorian-style turtleneck shirt with frills on the neck part. She also wore pink colored jacket with dark blue line that reached her chest over it. She wore darker pink skirt with frills underneath that was worn over her shirt as it was decorated with pink ribbon around the area of the stomach. She also wore tied boots that reached a little bit over her ankle with brown-colored socks underneath it.
Elize's hair, which used to be left alone by the owner, right now, was tied into twin tail using dark green colored ribbon. She also brought a bag that had the shape of Teepo's face. When I first saw the bag at our first meeting, I wondered how come Elize got her hand on it alongside the question of why she got attached to Teepo related goods after that. Some silly thought of mine almost believed that the mascot is cursed but I know it is silly. Of course, that was a talk from the past since I am already used to her bringing along that bag.
I smiled seeing how she looked forward on the trip with me. When I was finished with the dishes and made sure that everything was turned off, I said, "How about we leave now Elize?"
Elize who were tying her boots looked up to me who had finished with my own job. She smiled brightly as she said, "Yes!"
After I locked the house, we walked together to the bus stop hand by hand. Seeing how Elize was cheerful infected me a little bit as I smiled when I watched her humming. From the bits and pieces I managed to catch, she was humming 'A Mountain Village in the Dawn'. (Hamil theme)
I realized that Elize had talent in music though she insisted she wanted to be a nurse like mother. Our parents realized that Elize might still change her mind so they brought her piano, though not a grand one as it was too expensive, and put it inside her room. She was still a little bit shy about it, but sometimes I would coax her into playing a piece for me.
"Say Elize, how long it had been since the last time we get out together like this?" I asked when we reached the bus stop. Elize was sitting right next to me as she fiddled with her newly bought phone, a present for being the best in the class apparently.
"Mmm… mmmm… one year and… half, maybe? Jude-niisan is always busy playing with friends or studying to take me out… last summer to grandma was with family," Elize replied as she placed her index finger below her lips remembering about when she last went out with me.
"It wasn't my intention…" I softly murmured. I just reminded about Elize when she knocked on my door to be honest. My newly forged friendship with Milla was occupying most of the space in my head. It wasn't that I dislike being friends with Milla, she was the best friend anyone could ask, but something told me that there was something wrong with it.
Elize giggled as she then lightly replied, "It is fine! Jude-niisan shouldn't worry about me… Dad wanted you to do fun with friends, so I'm fine! I love Jude-niisan after all so I don't want you to be alone. Lonely is bad."
"You really are a good girl Elize. I wonder how I should face your future boyfriend… I'm rather reluctant to hand you to anyone," I replied with laughter that was more like a chuckle. When I finished my sentence Elize pouted cutely.
"I don't need boyfriend as long as I have Jude-niisan!" Elize complained with a pout on her face making me laugh at her reaction. She really is cute.
We talked a little bit more until the bus arrived. I took Elize's hands as I helped her enter the bus. Elize looked pouty when I treated her like a little child, but she would smile afterwards. Along the way, Elize asked me to point out every big building that passed us and I gladly do just that. It's really been awhile since the last time I went out without my rowdy friends.
'Friends, huh…' I thought as I looked at the passing scenery. The embarrassing memory of small adventure that I had with Milla was passing my mind.
Did I think of Milla as a friend? She thought of me as a friend but… I wasn't sure that I agreed with it. It felt like the word 'friend' didn't fit our situation.
'Rivalry? No, that's not it. Equal, maybe? Well, Milla IS my equal in that term but it still didn't click…' I asked myself in the depth of my mind.
Before I arrived into any short of answer, the bus had arrived to the bus stop near the Amusement Park. I watched Elize walking few feet ahead of me before turning around and wave her hand to me, signaling that I should hurry up, I shrugged the weird discussion that my mind had for awhile as I looked at my sister.
I'm here to play with my cute lovable little sister and not about girl… But only later I realized that I should have checked my luck for today…
Elize dragged me to play with her in a lot of girly attraction, not that I actually minded. After all, I doubt that Elize had the stomach to handle jet coaster or any extreme game that the park provided. But, I know that following her into all sort of the girly attraction she adores is good for my heart so I was more into watching her playing from the sideline rather than doing it myself. I'm already satisfied by watching her laughing happily, as she waved to my direction when she was on her ride with a big smile on her face.
"Why Jude-niisan not ride?" Elize asked one time after she went down from a Merry-go-round.
I smiled gently as I patted her head, ruffling her hair slightly as I said, "Seeing your smile was enough fun for me, Elize. If you want me to be happy, just have a blast today."
"A blast? Was it cannon?" Elize innocently asked as she tilted her head innocently.
I chuckled as I leveled my eyes with her. She looked flustered when I did that but I knew that she was simply shy about it. It is half of my fault as well by using the words that Jun often use and it is bound to be outside Elize's slightly limited dictionary. I put on my best smile as I said, "It's not cannon Elize… what I meant to say, just have a lot of fun for me as well. My happiness is to see you happy."
Elize face brightened as she put both of her clenched fists in front of her chest, looking determined, as she seriously said, "Okay! Then for Jude-niisan sake as well, I will have a lot of happiness! Then, let's go to… to, err… dizzy tea!"
I sweatdropped at her obvious false words but didn't say it. I knew that she was talking about Spinning Cup so I said, "Okay, then let's ride it together, right Elize?"
Elize looked to me with sparkling eyes as she nodded vigorously. We then walked through the crowd of the Amusement Park visitors as I looked at the map that we got. As long as I knew, Trigleph Park was a very big park with a complete attraction so it would give anyone direction troubles no matter what and I was no exception from it. Not to mention I haven't been around this area for... what? 3 years?
After I found the route, I led Elize to the attraction as we got distracted by the view around the amusement park. The staff around was unnecessarily anxious. But it looked like it wasn't a problem like there was something wrong in the park itself. In my view, it looked like as if something unexpected arrived, someone important, maybe. It wasn't my problem though as I led Elize along the crowd.
But, suddenly Elize tugged my hand as she called, "Err… Jude-niisan…"
I looked to my side and saw Elize looked nervous as she clutched my hands tightly. Her already pale face looked even paler and her expression looked like she was about to burst out crying. Searching my mind, we hadn't pass by anything that will make her look like this nor she did something she thought to be a bad thing. Out of curiosity and concern for my little sister, I asked, "What is it, Elize?"
Elize still looked nervous as she looked at one direction and with her index finger she pointed on whatever it is that changed her expression from cheerful to pure nervousness. As she did that she softly said, "What is that… scary gate…?"
I looked to the direction Elize was pointing at and saw a scary looking building with people lining to the entrance. I let out a voice of recognition when I saw it. Elize was pointing on a Haunted House… or Mansion, in this case. The first thing that attract my eyes are the crazy amount of people lining there since, from what I hear from Jun, the Haunted Mansion of Trigleph Amusement Park is exceptionally famous on being very scary.
Wait. From what I know Jun isn't that fond of places like Amusement Park but why he knew about it? He isn't the type to read something having more than a paragraph in it so it is amazing that he remembered about one of main attraction here. Did he has a plan to go here?
I pushed the question to the far end of my mind the instant I thought that. After all, I am with Elize so I can think of Jun's antic another time.
But, now I knew the reason why Elize was shivering beside me. Since the first time I met her, she was always bad with anything revolving with ghost or anything from its kind. Whenever she saw anything related to it, she would hide behind me looking like she was about to burst out crying until we were in safe distance away from it. I was reluctant to explain it to Elize, but since she asked I replied, "It's a Haunted Mansion. Don't worry, we won't go there."
Elize looked even more terrified after I replied it with the thing she doesn't like the most. She clutched my clothes tightly that I think it will stretch when she said, "I-I know… b-b-but… why people go in…? W-why go to scary place with ghost?" while she hid behind my back, unable to see the scary attraction anymore than necessary.
I gently patted her head with a smile on my face since she was being so cute. I nudged her to walk along and as we walked away from the place, I explained, "To cut it short, the Haunted Mansion isn't actually haunted. All of the ghost inside are fake, or in other word, man-made. People who want to just scream their heart out or just wanting to enjoy the vibe of a haunted place like to go in there. Some were scared, but I knew some who would laugh their stomach out inside."
Elize nodded slightly upon my explanation as she then asked, "And who is that?"
I sighed as the annoying monologue appeared inside my head. Instead of dwelling upon the stupidity I replied, "Jun."
"Achoo!" Jun sneezed as he walked along the amusement park with Mai following beside him. After he was unconscious for some time, he managed to regain his consciousness. What happened after that is something that only Jun and Mai knew.
"Did you catch cold, Jun?" Mai asked with concerned tone. She was feeling bad that Jun caught an illness when he was out with her. After all, he had suddenly fallen unconscious before.
Jun rubbed his nose as he narrowed his eyes. He then simply replied, "Someone was talking bad behind my back…"
Mai tilted her head in questioning manner. Jun looked at nowhere in particular as he continued rubbing his nose. He then said, "It's nothing! Anyway, what is next?"
Elize let out a voice of recognition. Jun indeed had come to our residence for a few times so Elize and Jun had known each other (well, at least Elize know about his face). Actually, my friends that Elize recognized were only Jun and Leia, with the latter being some kind of slightly annoying sisterly figure to her. Of course I tell her about everyone else like Mai-san, Milla, and some of my classmate but Elize never met any of them yet.
"Talking about him give bitter taste into my mouth. Let's just get going Elize," I concluded the discussion about haunted house with that. I smiled to Elize asking her to just forget about it as I prompted her to follow me to our destination.
Elize simply nodded and she obediently followed me from behind, still clutching my shirt until we are in fair distance from the Haunted Mansion. As we walked, we talked about nothing in particular but I often asked about her school life and her friends. Elize would brighten up when she talked about her homeroom teacher, mrs. Driselle who, according to her words, is a very kind teacher. I laughed at Elize who had a big wide smile on her face when she then tried to talk about her friend at school and some fun things in school that happened to her.
"Ah... and then... and then... " Elize would say when she tried to tell what she feels properly to me.
I couldn't help but chuckled at her cuteness and patted her head asking her to take a deep breath. Since Elize is such a good girl, she did as she told to while I laughed slightly at her slightly exaggerated movement, Leia's influence I guess.
Elize pouted when I laughed at her and while pouting she asked, "It is unfair that I'm the only one talking. Jude-niisan speak as well! What is like in Jude-niisan school? Jude-niisan made a lot friends right? Not lonely right?"
I can't help but smile at that since in a way Elize is worried about me. I guess I should admit that I am not the most social person living in the world and Elize knew it as well. I looked at distance when I remembered about Milla and before I know it, I already said to Elize, "Yes, I find someone very great in school. It isn't a stretch to say that she is perfect."
"Perfect? So Jude-niisan's friend is smart? More smart than Jude-niisan?" Elize inquired with her eyes looking at me in wonder.
I smiled fondly at the question, ignoring the obvious fault there. In paper test Milla and I didn't have that much difference. In last Summer, she surprised me for being able to fight with me in shooting booth. She is diligent, hard-working, maybe slightly clueless at times but she is a good person. Not to mention she is also beautiful, the type that any man would kill to be with.
When I am with Milla, I never felt bored even with a boring topic like political book that we accidentally had borrowed. It made me happy as well to see her going out of her way to tell me that she can't attend our library duty together for something else. And she didn't use too much emoticon in her mail like Leia who send a mail with too much emoticon it is like breaking a code.
"Jude-niisan is smilling! That friend is so good right? Jude-niisan has very good friend right?" Elize said with sparkling eyes as if she was the one who get the happiness.
'Friend...' the word somehow got replayed in my mind even without my consent.
'I guess we are friend huh...' I thought since there isn't something that indicated we are anything beyond that.
"Jude-niisan?" Elize asked in worry when the thought 'friend with Milla' passed my head.
I shook my head at Elize's tone and when I turned to her direction, her face looked sad. I quickly calmed down as I said, "Yeah, a very good friend..."
Normal POV
When the siblings disappeared from the crowd, another part of a pair appeared in the place that they had left. She looked around in confusion as she realized that she was separated from her friend. She simply sighed as she mumbled, "I wonder where is Leia… she didn't contact me at all."
It was practically obvious that the girl was Milla. She had been separated from Leia after they wandered to the ice cream stand for some snack. After that, they were shocked that Jun and Mai had left while they eat. What bring her to this condition is because Leia who lost her prey quickly dash away leaving her behind.
As she walked, she finally noticed how the crowd had been thickening maybe due to the fact it was holiday. But she realized that the worker around having an anxious expression, maybe some worker that she didn't bothered to talk with recognized her face. She didn't really care about the anxious worker as long as they didn't directly bother her but it pick up her interest. She isn't unreasonable enough to close a whole theme park on her whim so there is no need for them to be anxious just because she came here.
'But I wonder where Leia is… She really had a pair of good feet that I lost her…' Milla mentally sighed as she opened her phone and opened the application to look for people.
Milla knew that Leia hadn't noticed it yet (and it isn't meant to be noticed), but the voice amplifier had a sensor of its own so she could track her easily if she wanted to. She purposefully didn't tell Leia since she didn't want to creep few of her trusted friends with the weird stuff she had in her arsenal. Not to mention that it is quite convenience for finding Leia in case they got separated like now.
When she opened the application, she saw that Leia was still faithfully stalking the couple and was in quite a distance from her. She flipped her phone once more, placed both her hands over her hips, and thought out loudly, "I'm bored of stalking people and Leia is far as well… I guess I better look around to see how this place is going. It's lame though."
Milla let out a deep breath at her own thinking before looking at her position. She closed her eyes for a while and thought, 'So the closest are Haunted Mansion, Tornado, or Spinning Cups huh… Entering thrilling and scary attraction tire me out, so I guess it left the Spinning Cups…'
She looked at the direction of the attraction when she had a change of mind when she realized something that she voiced as well.
"It's weird for me to play alone using the Cup… it's rather tiring however, but I guess I need to go for Tornado… I could take on the Jet Coaster after that… I would finish on time for lunch then… I guess a trip to cafeteria would be inevitable… I should have asked for packed lunch…" Milla thought as she sighed. She then turned on her heels and changed her walking direction, the opposite direction of the Spinning Cups with her course of action planned out.
Leia who was loyally stalking the couple eventually noticed that Milla had been separated from her. She frowned when she knew this but she decided to let it be as she claimed to be, "Well, with me alone, it was harder for them to notice that they are being watched. Knowing Milla, she might be watching from another place."
