I know it's been awhile. Sorry. I hope y'all enjoy this chapter.
As Sarah and Draco pulled away from each other they both began to laugh. Draco ran his fingers threw his hair and smiled widely.
"Nah?" He said with a laugh. Sarah lightheartedly slapped him on the shoulder, and then responded, still laughing.
"Yeah, no."
"It was worth a try." Draco responded. Sarah nodded in agreement. "But I have to go anyways. My dad's probably going to kill me."
"Why do you say that?" Sarah questioned with a concerned look.
"He owled me telling me to come home tonight. I think he knows what we did."
"Do you want me to come? Maybe I can help defuse the situation."
"I don't think that's going to work." He said with a nervous laugh. "Plus I don't want to get you killed with me." Draco turned to walk back to his room as he finished his sentence.
"Drake, wait." Sarah called out. "You don't really think he'd kill you, do you?" Draco shrugged his shoulders in response and walked off.

"Ah, Draco, glad you are here." Lucius greeted his son as he walked in. Draco nervously shook his father's hand. "Sit, sit. There are some things we need to talk about."
Draco's mind began racing. He was sure that his father knew. He tried thinking of excuses for what he did. Anything but the truth, anything but that he did it because he loved Hermione.
"We are going to be moving forward with a new plan, a better plan." Lucius corrected himself in aggravated tone. "Since our last one failed so miserably. I have to sever ties with the company that created that poison for me. They couldn't keep up with their part and then want to blame me when one of their workers takes off and doesn't come back."
"What do you mean?" Draco questioned.
"The chemist that made the poison we attempted to kill the Mudblood with was supposed to return to New York yesterday, and didn't. Last I saw him he was in the lab preparing to head out. Now that he isn't back they are accusing me of some sort of foul play.
"Oh." Draco breathed out. He was so relieved that his father hadn't put together what he had done.
"But never mind any of that Draco. I'd kill them all if need be." Lucius responded with a laugh. "Ah, new plan, new plan. My confidant in the castle advised me that Potter has these Gryffindor gatherings. I haven't yet been able to get someone inside to monitor and bring back information."
Draco knew that he should tell his father that he had been, that he had inside access, but he also knew that he shouldn't. Deep down something about that gathering resonated as intimate, like a gathering of family. It wasn't right to betray that trust.
"Well despite not having an inside ear I have received information that Potter and a friend will be leaving the castle on Tuesday night to retrieve refreshments for another gathering. Lord Voldemort wants to strike then. We want to get this over with. I, of course, want you to be there for the battle. And after celebrate in our victory. You won't be returning to Hogwarts after that. There will be no need."
"Oh wow." Draco responded.
"I know this is going to change everything in your life but it's going to be for the better Draco. You should be excited." Lucius said standing up and patting Draco on his shoulder. He felt no reassuring feeling as his father did this but he responded anyways.
"I am father, I am." Draco said in a daze.

Draco sat on the couch with only one thing on his mind. Making sure that Hermione didn't join Harry on his trip to Hogesmade. He wasn't sure how events would take place after Harry's death. What if no one knew he was connected to it? Could he and Hermione end up together? He smiled at the idea. He let his mind wander as far as to imagine what their children would look like, imagining them with sandy blonde hair and Hermione's chocolate brown eyes.
He imagined two kids, a boy and a girl, playing with toy trucks in a brightly painted room. But he frowned as he looked at his sons face. He had an all too familiar lightning bolt scar on his forehead. His visionary son began to open his mouth to speak but instead of a child's voice coming out, it was Riley Revels voice shouting 'long live Harry Potter'.
Draco jumped off the couch as the voice rang out in his head. He instantly knew he couldn't let Harry get killed. Not like this at least. It would haunt him for the rest of his life. He decided to go to the only person with enough authority to get something done, Dumbledore.

"Headmaster." Draco said as he entered Dumbledore's office. "Can I talk to you about something?"
"Yes, of course Mr. Malfoy." Dumbledore responded as he sat behind his desk and ushered for Draco to sit as well. Draco did. "What can I do for you today?"
"Well Headmaster, I would like to give you some information in confidence." Dumbledore nodded, so Draco continued. "It has come to my knowledge that Harry Potter has been holding these common room parties and has been providing students with alcohol."
"Hmm. Is that all you had to say Mr. Malfoy?"
"No, there is more. Potter is planning a trip to Hogesmade to acquire more alcohol on Tuesday night."
"Oh. Mr. Malfoy, do you mind if I inquire how you gathered this information?"
"I was at his last gathering. I overheard him telling the Weasley kid about his next trip out." Draco didn't know how else to explain him knowing when Harry was going to Hogesmade again without having been there to hear it.
"Who invited you to this gathering? I would imagine you wouldn't have been at the top of the list to attend."
"Uh, Granger invited me."
"It seems you two have taken quite a liking to each other." Dumbledore responded trying to hide a smile.
"Yes. I guess so. But that doesn't have anything to do with this. Are you going to stop Potter from going out Tuesday night, or no?"
"No, I am not."
"What? You are just going to condone a student sneaking out of the castle and bringing back alcohol so he and his friends can engage in underage drinking?"
"Mr. Malfoy, to be quite honest with you, I think there is more to the story than you are letting on. But if you insist there isn't, than no I am not going to stop Mr. Potter from going out. These are rough times; maybe this is what some of the students need."
Draco stood up furious. "We all knew that Potter received special treatment but this is outrageous! You are allowing him to completely defy school rules because he is the Wonder kid. That's bullshit!" Draco spat with his voice and body slightly shaking. Dumbledore didn't seem to be phased by his outburst. Instead he also stood and placed his hand on Draco's shoulder in an effort to comfort him. As he did Draco instantly collapsed back into his chair and covered his face with his hands. It was as if every fiber of him that was fighting to be strong broke as Dumbledore's hand touched him. He could feel Dumbledore's concern and how much he actually cared all from that touch. It was like getting a piece of approval he always wanted but could never admit he desired.
"I don't want to do it. I don't want to be a part of it." Draco finally said as he lifted his head from his hands.
"Don't want to do what?"
"My father." Draco paused, trying to figure out how to compose his words. "My father told me that Voldemort is planning to attack Potter on his trip out to Hogesmade. I'm supposed to be there. I'm supposed to help. I can't do it and I can't let Potter just get ambushed like that. I can't explain it but I don't want him to die."
"Mr. Malfoy this is serious. Are you sure this is their plan?" Dumbledore questioned, instantly sheading his light heartedness, and becoming very serious.
"Yes. You have to stop him from going Headmaster." Draco said with pleading eyes.
"Alright. I will take care of this. Harry Potter will not be leaving this castle. Why don't you go get some rest and calm your mind?"
"That's it? You don't want to question me? I'm not in trouble?"
"No. You're not in trouble. You should be proud of yourself. Harry is strong but he is not ready for this battle. You just saved his life. And I'm not going to question you about where your allegiance lies because I don't think even you have figured that one out."
Draco let out a dry laugh. "My allegiance lies with one person. Where she goes I will follow."
Review and let me know that y'all think.
