Big thanks to CrackersKay for the movie. Because of that, I changed the theater to a place that plays movies that are our on DVD, as well as new releases.
To answer your question, about Freddie not responding to Cat calling Freddie her boyfriend and if I said they were officially dating yet or not, I don't think I have, which is what the first date is for, and Freddie didn't react to it because he liked it. I hope I explained it well enough for you.
This chapter takes place shortly before they arrive at the movie theater. I made up the movie theater, or at least I think I did.
Random thing about someone not in this fic at all, at least not yet, maybe. Jennette McCurdy, before joining 'iCarly', was in the season two episode of 'C.S.I.'. The episode name is 'Cat's In The Cradle...', and it's from 2002 or 2003. I barely recognized her, but she looks like she did early on in 'iCarly', which is why I didn't recognize her. (Not really an 'iCarly' fan. Only saw two episodes, 'iFight Shelby Marx' and 'iParty With VicTORious'.)
Discaimer: Don't own anything in here, other than the restaurant, movie theater, and plot. The characters are courtesy of Nickelodeon, and the idea is from Challenge King. The movie they see is not mine either. I've never seen it, so I have no idea what happens in it. I didn't really explain any of the scenes, for the reason mentioned, so I kept the focus on what Freddie and Cat are doing during the movie.
No POV
Shortly after leaving Illustrious, Freddie drives towards a movie theater that plays older movies. He chose this theater because of how popular it became over the last few months after it first opened.
The drive, though shorter than the drive to Illustrious, is filled with a comfortable silence, Cat occasionally glancing at Freddie with a smile on her face. Pulling into 'Hollywood Projections', the movie theater, Freddie parks his car in an available parking space, unbuckling his seatbelt and getting out to open Cat's door, closing it behind her.
Locking the doors, Freddie guides Cat to the double doors, his right arm holding Cat's left, his left holding the door open.
"Welcome to Hollywood Projections." A male teen, maybe around they're age, asks, giving Cat a quick glance. "How may I help you?" He asks, his glance aimed at the red-head's chest.
"You can stop staring at her chest, for one." Freddie says, glaring at the teen. "I'm pretty sure if your boss found out that you're leering at a customer might get you fired." He points out, stepping in front of Cat to block the teen's view of her.
"And you are?" The teen, Shawn, asks, scoffing at Freddie.
"Her boyfriend." Freddie responds, not noticing the blush on Cat's cheeks.
"Shawn, you're supposed to be cleaning the bathrooms, not working register." A girl, a little taller than Cat, says, walking up to the register.
"That's not my job anymore." Shawn scowls, turning to face the new girl. "Thought you quit?" He asks, his back to Freddie and Cat.
"You thought wrong." The new girl says, Katherine by her name tag. "Now go." She says, her voice authoritative.
"Whatever." Shawn says, walking away.
"Sorry about him." Katherine says, walking in front of them to the register. "Welcome to Hollywood Projections." She says with a smile. "Which movie?" She asks, handing Freddie a list of the movies playing.
"I thought you only played new releases?" Freddie asks, handing the list to Cat, letting her pick.
"We now play any movie. New releases are on the left, pre-released on the right." Katherine says, indicating the two sides with a look. "Anything in particular?" She asks Cat.
"Can we see 'The Notebook'?" Cat asks Freddie, a slight pout on her face.
"Sure. I guess." Freddie responds, not seeing the small smile on Katherine's face. "Two for 'The Notebook'." He tells Katherine.
"Any snacks or drinks?" Katherine asks, typing something on the computer and printing out the tickets.
"Soda and popcorn?" Freddie asks Cat, looking to face her.
"Sure. Medium?" Cat asks in response, looking at Freddie.
"Sure. Two medium sodas and a medium popcorn." Freddie tells Katherine.
"Butter and a bit of salt." Cat tells Katherine when she starts to type the orders.
"Got it." Katherine says when she sees Freddie nod in agreement. "That'll be 20 dollars even. Drink machines are over there." She says, pointing to the side wall where the popcorn machine is, handing them two medium cups. "Hand the cashier this ticket to get your popcorn." She says, handing Freddie a small ticket.
"Thank you." Freddie says, handing Cat one of the cups and hooks his free hand in hers as they walk towards the snack desk, Freddie handing the cashier, a college aged man, the popcorn ticket.
"Medium, butter and extra salt?" Jon, the cashier, asks as he reads over the ticket, making sure it's right.
"Yep." Cat answers with a smile, a small bounce in her step.
"Got it. Any extra snacks?" Jon asks as he fills the bucket with popcorn, adding the butter when it's almost full.
"No thank you. Just some napkins." Freddie says after seeing Cat shake her head 'no'.
"You got it." Jon says, handing Freddie the popcorn and napkins.
"Thank you." Freddie says as he and Cat head over to the soda machine to get their drinks.
"Can you get me a little ice? I need to use the ladies room." Cat asks, handing Freddie her cup.
"What soda?" Freddie asks simply, not minding doing that for Cat.
"Uh, Sprite?" Cat asks, her bouncing slightly more noticable, especially with her reason for why known.
"Yep. I'll wait for you by the water fountain." Freddie says, pointing to the water fountains by the restrooms.
"Kay kay." Cat says before heading for the restrooms, slightly hurried.
"Nice choice, picking the water fountains by the bathrooms to wait." A female voice says from behind Freddie.
"Whoa!" Freddie almost yells, turning to face the voice, surprised to see Jade and Tori behind him. "What are you two doing here? How did you know we were coming here?" Freddie asks, turning to fill the cups with the ice and soda, hiding his blush as he tries to calm his breath and heartbeat.
"Jade wanted to watch the first 'Paranormal Activity'. They're playing it in a few minutes and no one we know has the DVD and she didn't feel like looking it up online." Tori says, sounding a little embarrassed.
"And you told Beck and André you were bringing her here, and they told us, so I made up an excuse to spy on you." Jade says, not embarrassed in the slightest.
"I knew that was a reason to get out of the house. Dad has the movies on his external hard drive in his room because mom hates horror movies." Tori says with a sigh.
"You actually think I wanted to leave your house, with your parents on a date night of their own and Trina stalking some new guy, to watch a movie? You actually think I'd be okay leaving your extremely comfy bed for more than coffee, food, bathroom, or a shower, to see a movie?" Jade asks, her tone suggestive.
"Can you two continue this elsewhere? I need to wait for Cat." Freddie says, blushing at what Jade is implying.
"Sure. Don't worry. We'll be in a different theater." Jade says with a laugh, dragging Tori away.
A moment later, with both cups filled with soda and the tops covered, two straws in hand, Freddie heads over to the water fountains to wait for Cat, slightly surprised that she hasn't finished yet.
Thank you for reading. I decided to make this a two part. I had to add the Jori moment, thought it'd be interesting to see them, and Jade admitting she was there to spy on Freddie, and Tori was only there because of Jade.
Next chapter will take place where this left off.
Blessed Be.
