Joey and friends were relaxing in the Trainer's Lounge at the Pokemon Center. While they waited for their Pokemon to be healed they watched the recent Indigo League finals match.

The match had just reached to the final sub-battle. One of the trainer's Gyrados had just fainted to the other's Electabuzz. Now Gyrados' trainer had returned the Atrocious Pokemon and sent out his final Pokemon, a giant orange dragon with a flame at the end of its tail, Charizard.

Charizard's trainer stood a confident 11 year old boy. He wore a kutte with Rock and Metal bands patches sewn into it and blue jeans with a biker's chain attached. He had long blonde hair and blue eyes. The boy's name was Ziggy.

Ziggy was on his final Pokemon, the screen showed that his Nidorino, Pidgeot, Growlithe, Dragonite, and Gyrados had been knocked unconscious. His opponent, Slate (the champion of Ash Gray), has only one Pokemon left as well, Electabuzz. His team indicated that Slowking, Crobat, Arcanine, Scizor, and Raichu had all been knocked out. (Yeah I dropped his Blissey for Electabuzz)

"This battle is tough, I can't decide who'll win." Joey said, not taking his eyes away from the TV screen.

"Ziggy's Charizard vs. Slate's Electabuzz. Begin!" The referee ordered.

"Charizard quick use Slash!" Ziggy ordered.

"Electabuzz counter with Thunderpunch." Slate said calmly.

The two Pokemon collided with each, but Electabuzz's Thunderpunch won the battle. Charizard took the super-effective hit and was sent flying backward. "Charizard counter with Dragon Claw!" Ziggy said, thinking on his feet. Charizard regained its balance before it could crash into the ground. Then dashed right back to Electabuzz with its claw glowing blue. Electabuzz skidded backwards after taking the Dragon Claw.

"Electabuzz, Thunder!"

"Dodge it, Charizard!"

Charizard easily dodged the bolt of lightning coming from Electabuzz as it flew around.

"Now Flamethrower!" Ziggy ordered. Charizard was now above Electabuzz spewing a stream of flames from its mouth, engulfing its opponent.

"Electabuzz, Psychic! And bring Charizard down then send it flying with Iron Tail!" Electabuzz followed Slate's orders as it kinetically forced Charizard to come towards it. As Charizard was in breathing distance, Electabuzz sent Charizard to the wall of the stands with its tail.

"Charizard! Are you okay?" Ziggy asked his Starter Pokemon. Charizard had gotten off the wall and gave his trainer a nod. Charizard's many injurys were visible as it prepared for orders. Electabuzz was not as bad as Charizard was but it had burns and scratches all over its body. "Great, it looks like we'll have to end this here. Charizard, Steel Wing."

"Electabuzz, be ready with Thunderpunch!" Slate's Pokemon took stance with a sparking fist, waiting for Charizard's impact. Charizard's wings glowed metallicaly as it flew towards Electabuzz. As the Flame Pokemon and the Electric Pokemon collided it caused an explosion.

"Charizard!" Ziggy cried.

"Electabuzz!" Slate screamed.

As the smoke from the explosion cleared the first combatant that could be seen was Electabuzz, who was struggling to stand up. "Stand strong, Electabuzz." Slate encouraged his Pokemon.

When the smoke completely cleared Ziggy's face could tell the seen. Charizard was lying on its belly, unconscious. "Return," was all Ziggy said as he held his Pokeball and the red beam engulfed Charizard.

"And your new Indigo League champion is... Slate! He came through in an intense battle against Ziggy. Please stay tuned for the awards ceremony and Slate's challenging of the Elite Four."

"Wow that was an intense battle. I was sure Ziggy was gonna win with that last attack." Joey said.

"But Slate had a type-advantage and Ziggy's Charizard had also already been in a battle so it had to be worn out." June added.

"I wouldn't mind seeing the battles between Slate and the Elite Four." Eddie said.

"Yeah, I bet he dominated the Elite Four." Joey added.

"He did." Someone from behind them said.

When the group turned around to see who it was they were surprised to see the same figure they saw on TV. "You're Ziggy?" Joey asked.

"That's me." He flashed a smile.

"Wow, do you think we could see your Pokemon?"

"Um, sure I don't see why not."

The group walked out of the Pokemon Center into a a clearing. Ziggy then let out his team consisting of 4 Pokemon: Charizard, Eevee, Squirtle, and Nidorino.

"Hey guys, come on out. I want you to meet some strong Pokemon." Joey released Cyndaquil and Hoothoot. They stared in awe at the finalist's team. Eddie and June followed suit and released Marill, Aipom, and Bulbasaur.

"Um Ziggy?" Eddie asked.

"Yes?"

"Why don't you have the team you used in the Indigo League Finals with you? I mean I see Charizard and Nidorino but what happened to Gyrados, Dragonite, Pidgeot, and Growlithe? And why do you have a Squirtle and Eevee in your party?"

"Well you see, I came to Johto to take on the Silver Conference and I wanted to train more of my Pokemon so they'd all be ready for the tournament. Right now I'm training Squirtle and Eevee. I also left to open spots in my party in case I wanted to catch some new Pokemon." Ziggy replied.

"Ziggy, do you think you could help me, Cyndaquil, and Hoothoot train for our battle against Falkner?" Joey asked.

"Sure, I won't tell you what Pokemon he uses but I will have you prepared for your Gym Battle," Ziggy said. "I just beat him before he went out of town. Just let me get a Pokemon from Professor Oak."

Joey and Ziggy were standing on both sides of the battlefields behind the Pokemon Center ready to train. Eddie and June watched from the sidelines.

"Are you ready Joey?" Ziggy asked.

"Yep," Joey looked to Cyndaquil. "I'm going to start out with you Cyndaquil."

Cyndaquil ran to his respective side of the battlefield and cried erupted the flames on its back. "Quil!"

"Alright. Pidgeot, let's get them ready for their Gym Battle." Ziggy tossed up a Pokeball and a huge bird Pokemon appeared.

"Pidgeot!" Pidgeot flew to its side of the battlefield gracefully and stood on its talons.

Joey gulped and pulled out his Pokedex. "Pidgeot, the Bird Pokemon. Part Normal and Flying type. Its well-developed chest muscles make it strong enough to whip up a gusty windstorm with just a few flaps."

"This isn't what i expected to be facing." he said. Cyndaquil shivered in agreement.

"What's wrong with Joey?" Eddie asked. "He seems a lot more tense than he usually is."

"He's never faced off against a Pokemon this strong. The strongest he's faced off against was a well trained Totodile." June answered.

Joey tried to hide his fear. "Cyndaquil, are you ready?"

"Cynda.." His cry wasn't as loud as it was before.

Here goes nothing, Joey thought. "Cyndaquil, Headbutt!" He put as much confidence in his voice as he could, hoping Cyndaquil wouldn't falter. Thankfully he didn't. He rushed towards Pidgeot headfirst.

"Pidgeot, Double Team." Pidgeot had created multiple copies of itself. Cyndaquil continued headfirst into one of Pidgeot's copies. "Now Pidgeot, Sand Attack." Pidgeot and its copies picked up dirt and threw it in Cyndaquil's eyes.

"Quil!" Cyndaquil squealed.

"Cyndaquil! Hey, that was dirty trick." Joey yelled.

"It was a status move. Sand Attack lowers your Pokemon's accuracy. Falkner likes to lower his opponents stats," Ziggy stated. "Now show me what you're gonna do about it."

"Ugh, Cyndaquil use Swift on all the copies." Cyndaquil followed orders and sent multiple stars at the copies. Although the Swift attack took out most of the copies it missed three copies.

"Wing Attack!" The three Pidgeot flew for Cyndaquil with their wings extended.

As the attack came in Joey saw the left an the middle copy flicker. "I've got it! Cyndaquil use Ember on the right." Cyndaquil quickly sent flames towards the incoming Pokemon, but instead of sending the attack to the right copy the flames went through the middle one.

"There's the Sand Attack coming into play." Eddie stated.

"Now, finish it Pidgeot!" Ziggy ordered. The left copy disappeared and Pidgeot swept Cyndaquil into the air. When Cyndaquil landed it had swirls in its eyes indicating it was knocked out.

"Good job Cyndaquil. Now rest up a bit." Joey sighed returning his partner. "Now," Joey looked over to Hoothoot. "Your turn, Hoothoot." Hoothoot shook his head. "Come on," Joey tried to pick him up. Hoothoot hopped away and after a struggle Joey ended up throwing Hoothoot onto the battlefield.

Hoothoot took a look at Pidgeot and shivered.

"Alright Hoothoot use Peck." Joey said.

"Pidgeot, Sand Attack now." Before Hoothoot could even move Pidgeot threw sand in its eyes.

"Great, what can I do now?" Joey said.

"Think," Ziggy replied. "Use your head and figure it out."

Joey thought for a moment. There was no possible way to wash the sand out unless it just randomly started raining out of nowhere. There was no way Ziggy was going to fall for some kind of trick and use the wind to blow the sand out of Hoothoot's eyes.

"You gotta think faster, Pidgeot finish it with Wing Attack." Ziggy ordered.

Think, think, think Joey told himself. Alright, Hoothoot's moves are Peck, Extrasensory, Hypnosis, and Foresight. That's it! Foresight makes sure a move can't miss!

"Alright Hoothoot use Foresight!"

"Would you look at that, you figured something out."

Hoothoot focused on Pidgeot. Making sure it wouldn't miss its mark. Pidgeot came in closer and closer.

When Pidgeot was about ten feet away, Joey took action. "Now Hoothoot use Extrasensory!"

"Hoot!" A purple beam came out of Hoothoot's eyes engulfing Pidgeot.

"Now slam Pidgeot into the ground." Pidgeot was forced onto the ground.

"That was pretty smart but remember, my Pidgeot is stronger than Falkner's Pokemon. Now Pidgeot use gust." Pidgeot got up from the ground and flapped its wings causing a gust of wind that sent Hoothoot flying. "Now Wing Attack."

"Pidgeot" Pidgeot flew straight at hoothoot and before he landed Pidgeot connected its attack, knocking out Hoothoot.

"Great job, Hoothoot. Now take a nice long rest." Joey returned Hoothoot and walked up to Ziggy. "Thank you, Ziggy. For everything." Joey extended his hand and Ziggy shook it.

"No problem. I want to see you in the Silver Conference. I want to see how strong you've become the next time we meet." He replied.

"When I see you at the Silver Conference I'll definitely show you how strong I've become." Joey agreed.

"Well I need to get going now. I've got to go beat Bugsy in Azalea Town," he climbed onto Pidgeot. "See you at the Silver Conference." Then he flew off into the sky.

"Be prepared for next time cause there's no way I'm gonna lose to you again!" Joey yelled back at him.

"Um, Joey?"

Joey turned around to June questioning him. "What June?

"Can we get some food now? We haven't eaten since breakfast."

Joey's stomach grumbled at the mentioning of food. It was now almost nighttime. Joey had decided to skip out at lunch and for whatever reason June and Eddie decided to skip with him. "Why didn't you eat lunch without me?"

"Because Eddie wanted to see your training and I didn't want to eat alone?"

"Mew girls are wierd," he stated. "Yeah let's go."

The group was in line when Joey was shuffling through his pockets and bag.

"What are you doing Joey?" Eddie asked.

"I lost my Trainer ID." Joey said with a frown.

"Well can't you get a new one?" June asked.

"Yeah, but Nurse Joy said it would take a while and the cafeteria is almost closed. And i can't even challenge Falkner without it."

"Relax, I'll get you some food." June offered.

"But we don't like the same food."

"Fine, then starve." June walked further into the line to get her food.

Joey turned to Eddie. "You know how to cook right?"

"Yeah, but I don't have the right stuff with me."

Joey stared at him blankly. "So you can't cook."

"At the moment, no."

"No!" Joey groaned. "I'm gonna have to resort to Pokemon food."

"I have some in my bag if you want?"

"It was a figure of speech."

Finally. Sorry for the long wait everyone. This one took a while to write. Thanks to LordRavenStark for Ziggy, the first OC that I used that wasn't mine.

So in the next chapter Joey will finally challenge Falkner, after he gets his new Trainer ID of course. And thanks to Ziggy, Joey should be prepared for this battle.

See you guys whenever I finish chapter 7, as for now, FlameAura98 has left the building.
