Hello, my fellow fanfiction writers/readers. I come here to you with a new chapter in Pokemon Chronicles: Johto Journey or PC:JJ for short. Sorry if the last chapter felt rushed. I read it after I posted it and it felt really rushed to me.
So Joey just won his Hive Badge from Bugsy, Hoothoot evolved into Noctowl and June received Spinarak from Bugsy. In this chapter Joey, June, and Eddie plan on going around Azalea Town.
Joey's day was supposed to be a simple, nice, relaxing day with a picnic with his friends, maybe go a little sight seeing. Wrong. As soon as he walked out of the Pokemon Center with June and Eddie, there were roadblocks all around the town. Having no clue what was going on, Joey decided to ask Officer Jenny.
"Someone invaded Slowpoke Well?" Joey asked for confirmation.
"Yes. Now I have to get back to work now," she replied.
"Don't worry we'll help out Officer Jenny," he said.
"I would love the help but I can't have minors getting hurt on my watch."
"Don't worry about that, I promise we will be careful."
"Fine," she then looked at June and Eddie. "Are you two coming too?" they nodded their heads. "Do you promise to be careful?"
"We promise," they said in unison.
"Okay let's go quickly."
"Did you really just let one out!?" a teenage girl shouted at a boy her age.
"There's a lot of them to keep track of!" the teen boy shouted back.
"Well you can take the blame and tell Cassidy and Botch that we lost some of the product!"
While the two teens were bickering a young boy with red hair was sitting on a rock rubbing his head trying to get rid of the headache the bickering teens were giving him. Why his father had chosen those two to take Butch and Cassidy's position for watching over him to make sure nothing goes wrong with the plan, he could not figure it out.
"Roy! Jackie! Why are you letting the product escape?" Cassidy demanded as she walked into the cave filled with Slowpoke.
"Sorry ma'am," the blonde haired girl named Jackie saluted.
"It won't happen again," the brown haired boy named Roy replied.
"You'd better be right because if it happens again I'll have Houndour burn you to a crisp," she threatened. Cassidy then turned her attention to the boy with red hair sitting on the rock. "Shane," the boy turned his head to give her his attention. "Catch," she tossed a pokeball at the boy. He caught it in his hand and stared at it. "Your father wanted you to use that Pokemon on your team."
"What is it?"
"It was originally supposed to be a gift from your father to me and Butch for our recent success, but then that went down the drain," Cassidy sighed, "do not open that pokeball inside here."
All of a sudden there was an explosion heard in the distance.
"What was that?" Cassidy demanded.
"Great job using Solarbeam, Bulbasaur," Eddie complemented as he returned his starter Pokemon.
"Be ready for a lot of thugs. They definitely heard that," Officer Jenny said.
As if on cue an entire horde of Team Rocket grunts came running through the kids and Officer Jenny's makeshift entrance.
Joey stepped up. "I've got this," he said. "Noctowl use Hypnosis," he called as he tossed out the pokeball that contained the Owl Pokemon. Noctowl then sent a brainwave with a gigantic radius at the horde. Every single one of the grunts instantly fell asleep.
"That was quick," June commented.
"Let's go," Joey said as he started to run in the cave.
"Stop!" one last grunt came out of the opening with a Beedrill flying by his side.
Joey, June and Eddie all readied their pokeballs preparing for battle. A Growlithe suddenly appeared in front of them. "You three go ahead, you're all obviously stronger trainers than I am so it makes sense for you to go further in," Officer Jenny stated.
The three friends nodded and ran into the opening. As they went further inside they found a cave with five people waiting inside. All familiar faces. Cassidy and Butch were there as well as the other three people who escaped with them in Violet City. A tall teenage girl with long black hair and a tall teenage boy with brown hair with a buzz cut were standing on both sides of a boy with red hair. The boy who stole Professor Elm's Totodile, the Pokemon that attacked Joey when he started his journey.
Although Joey recognized him he had never gotten a good look at him. His long red hair covered his right eye. His eyes were silver. He wore a tight black button up shirt. Dark purple pants on his legs and black steel-toed boots.
"You again? What did you find another new friend to follow you around. You may have caught us by surprise last time but there's no way you're stopping the five of us this time," Cassidy shouted. "Houndor let's go, use Flamethrower!"
"Marill quick, stop it with Water Gun!" June commanded as the Water type appeared from its pokeball.
As Marril's stream of water put out the flames, Joey turned to his friends. "Guys can you take care of Biff and Cassidy, I need to stop that kid."
June and Eddie nodded as Eddie threw his only pokeball and Bulbasaur appeared. Bulbasaur ran up and took a battle stance along with Marril.
As Joey ran he heard Butch call out his Hitmontop. He was standing face to face with the criminal that attacked him the last time they met.
"Listen Shane, I don't want any trouble. I'll I want is the Pokemon you stole from Professor Elm. He wanted me to turn you in but I'll let you go if you just return Totodile," Joey attempted to persuade the redhead.
"How do you know my name?" the boy ignored the rest of Joey's statement.
"Your friends' here said it to you when you escaped from Violet City."
"If you think I'm giving back Totodile you're wrong. You're going to have to take it from me. Totodile go."
"Wooper come on out."
"Totodile Scratch," Shane commanded.
"Wooper counter with Slam."
Both of the Pokemon collided but Wooper was the one who was sent backwards.
"Quick Wooper use Mud Shot," Joey commanded again.
Wooper shot a ball of mud at her opponent and it landed in Totodile's eyes. Totodile then became so furious about not being able to see that it started scratching through the air.
"We'll help you out Shane! Phanphy go," Roy shouted. The blue small elephant Pokemon appeared and Joey pulled out his Pokedex and scanned the creature.
"Phanphy the Long Nose Pokemon. Ground type. It swings its long snout around playfully, but because it is so strong, that can be dangerous."
"Tangela, you too," Jackie shouted.
"Tangela the Vine Pokemon. Grass type. The vines that cloak its entire body are always jiggling. They effectively unnerve its foes." Dexter said in an electronic voice before he put the Pokedex away.
"Hey 3 on 1 isn't fair!" Joey screamed in anger.
"We're Team Rocket, we don't play fair," Roy and Jackie said in unison.
"Then we'll just have to even it out!" Joey heard a feminine voice behind him. "Aipom use Swift!"
"Bulbasaur, Razor Leaf!"
Joey turned around to see his friends come help him. June was now using Aipom instead of Marril. He looked past his friends and saw Officer Jenny handcuffing Bob and Cassidy. He then turned around and gave Wooper another command. "Wooper, use Water Gun."
Wooper's Water Gun was aimed for Phanphy, while Bulbasaur's Razor Leaf was headed towards Totodile, and Aipom's Swift was aimed at Tangela. All the attacks hit dead on and knocked the enemy Pokemon back into their trainers.
"Jackie, Roy!" Cassidy yelled. "Get Shane out of here!"
"Shane use the pokeball!" Jackie yelled.
Shane tossed the pokeball and a Steelix appeared, which caused Joey to immediately freeze in fear. It was the same Steelix that almost killed him before June and her Pokemon came to his rescue. The Steel type gave Joey a menacing glare before Shane got it's attention. "Steelix use Dig to get us out of here," he commanded. "Roy and Jackie jump on quick!" the two teenage criminals picked up there Pokemon and made a running jump onto the Iron Snake Pokemon. When they landed Steelix straightened up and started spinning. With in seconds they disappeared leaving a huge hole in the cave.
Joey finally shook his head and got out of his current state of mind. "Looks like I'm not gonna get Totodile back to Professor Elm anytime soon," he sighed.
"Don't worry Joey, we'll stop them eventually," June said.
Officer Jenny walked up to the trio. "Well it looks like we got everyone except for those three, including the leaders of this operation. Thank you for your help."
"Your welcome," the three friends said in unison.
"Since you helped me out is there anything I can help you with?"
"What's the quickest way to Goldenrod City? I need to get there to get my third gym badge," Joey asked almost immediately.
Officer Jenny thought for a moment then said, "The closest way would have to be through Ilex Forest then through Route 34."
Joey then turned to his friends, "First thing in the morning tomorrow we're heading that way."
His friends nodded.
"Now can we go back to the Pokemon Center and relax, I need to get Marril to Nurse Joy," June said.
"Yeah, let's go."
With that the trio left Officer Jenny to finish her work. They walked through the opening in the cave and towards the Pokemon Center.
Cut. Wrap. Print. Whatever else you're supposed to say in this situation.
So the confrontation at the Slowpoke Well happened and now there are two new enemies: Roy and Jackie.
The next chapter will take place in the Ilex Forest. No Celebi will not be in the next chapter.
Who likes the new story cover. I used the Pokemon Trainer Creator game and took a screenshot of it. I could only get half of the trainer though. That's the closest representation I could come up with of Joey using the game.
Anyway I'll see you in another possible 3 months.
