I forgot that I don't own the Teen Titans.
Garfield sighed wearily before slipping back into his room. Victor was sound asleep and snoring loudly in his bed, causing the blonde to let out a relieved breath. He knew his friend wasn't trying to make things between him and Raven awkward, but the prying and knowing looks were not sitting well with him. And the fact that there was now a possibility of something actually happening between them, Victor's teasing was really not warranted. Or helping.
Slumping into his own bed, Garfield pulled out his cellphone and gave it an indecisive look. He had literally just parted with Raven in the hall, but their quick "goodnight" wasn't very satisfying. Sure, he knew not to expect a goodnight kiss or anything, but...
Okay, maybe a goodnight kiss was exactly what he wanted. But he knew not to expect one.
But what he didn't know was whether or not to text the pale girl right now.
Raven, on the other hand, was too physically and emotionally exhausted to even think about her blonde teammate. All she was wanting to do was flop onto her bed and drift into unconsciousness.
So she did just that.
Garfield woke up to the sound of his roommate grumbling as he got ready for the day. The blonde let out a groan and reached for his phone, noting that his last-minute text to Raven hadn't been replied to. He tried not to let it get him down, but it still put a bit of a damper on his morning. Well, at least until he figured out that he hadn't even sent the message. Once he realized his tired mind had forgotten to press the send button, he no longer felt disappointed. Just stupid.
Shaking his head, he went to delete the message, only his finger hit the wrong button.
Now he sent the message.
He stared wide-eyed at his phone for a minute, before flopping back onto his bed and wishing he wasn't such an idiot.
Meanwhile, Raven had just gotten out of the shower and was coming out of the bathroom when she noticed her pink-haired roommate was sitting on her bed holding what looked suspiciously like her cellphone.
"Wow, Rae-Rae, Gar must really like you, huh?" Jinx teased, peeking over the pale girl's phone and giving her a wicked grin.
Raven felt like her body went on autopilot as she leaped over Kori's bed and tackled her roommate. Jinx obviously wasn't expecting it, and Raven felt satisfied with having the upper hand as she attempted to pry the phone from the other girl's hands.
But Jinx's shock must have subsided, and Raven suddenly found the pink-haired girl fighting back. She pulled her hands away from Raven and reached her arms above her head, causing Raven to crawl over her and make it so she was no longer pinning her roommate down. Jinx then used the opportunity knock the dark-haired girl off-balance by rolling into her, sending them both toppling over the edge of the bed and onto the floor in a heap of tangled limbs.
Kori watched silently from the door beside Richard, who had come down early this morning to spend some time with the redhead.
"Is this the usual routine every morning?" he asked flatly, his brow arching in slight amusement.
Hearing his voice, Raven pulled herself off of the pink-haired girl and stared at the open door in horror.
"No, this is new," Kori replied in confusion.
Jinx merely laughed at the awkwardness, before politely handing the phone back to Raven.
The pale girl quickly snatched it from her hands, and stared at the lock-screen.
Lock-screen. Jinx didn't know Raven's password. Jinx hadn't read any of her messages. Jinx was just messing with her.
She slowly turned her head to glare at the girl. Jinx smiled back sweetly.
Kori and Richard continued to watch silently as the two girls resumed their cat-fight on the floor.
Raven finally got the bathroom all to herself as she attempted to cover up the newly acquired bruise forming on her cheekbone, which Jinx had gracefully given to her with her elbow. It was a bit unsettling how the pink-haired girl had been cracking up during her own murder.
Sadly, Kori had decided to finally intervene by pulling Raven off of their crazy roommate, who continued cackling on the floor. Surprisingly, Kori was a very strong girl, and had no problem lifting the petite teen off of her pink-haired friend.
Raven felt herself growl in the back of her throat as she relived those humiliating moments. Here she was, claiming to be a pacifist, and yet her obnoxious roommate was able to bring out her violent side.
Pushing the tussle from her mind, Raven continued to make herself look presentable. Just because she knew Garfield liked her didn't mean she was going to stop trying to look nice.
Thinking of the blonde teen reminded Raven of her phone. Not only had she noticed that it was safely password protected- she had seen that she had a new message. Swiping her phone off of the counter, she quickly unlocked it and clicked her message icon.
There was one new message from Garfield, sent about half an hour ago.
Goodnight! :)
She couldn't stop the giggle from escaping her lips as she re-checked the time. 7:17. Am.
Feeling her lips curl into a small smile, she quickly replied.
Goodnight, Garfield.
Raven pretended not to notice how close Garfield was sitting as her team settled onto the floor of the lobby. Ms. Mae was explaining something about the competition to her students, but Raven wasn't paying attention- which was weird on its own.
But it was even weirder that she was instead focusing on how her and Garfield's knees would brush as he shuffled impatiently on the floor. She also found herself noting the way his large, thin hands would lightly pat his knee as his glimmering emerald eyes darted around the room.
Apparently the boy couldn't sit still for long.
"When do you think she'll release us?"
Nor keep quiet.
Raven tried not to smirk at his impatience as she gave him a bored look.
"When she'd done talking, Garfield."
The blonde merely groaned in annoyance as he directed his sights back onto their colorful teacher.
Raven did the same, and finally found herself able to pay attention. After all, she was here to win, and being distracted by-
"Hey, Rae?"
She suppressed another smirk as she gave the blonde a sideways glance.
He no longer looked impatient as he focused on the floor in front of him.
"Uhm," he continued quietly, avoiding her gaze. "Do you... uh..."
Spit it out! he thought bitterly, casting the pale girl a quick glance. She was looking at him expectantly, which only seemed to make his loss for words worse.
"Never mind," he mumbled, looking away from her again. He watched from the corner of his eye as she returned her sights back to the front of the room. Smacking himself internally, he did the same. Though instead of paying attention to his teacher, he found his mind wandering back to the kiss he had shared with Raven in the elevator.
His first kiss.
That was with her.
He was surprised that it had even happened, but beyond excited. It meant that she did like him, and he had an actual, honest-to-god chance with her- one of the most beautiful girls he had ever seen.
He felt himself smile what he knew to be a classic, love-sick puppy smile, but he didn't feel a need to stop. Nobody was paying him any attention, and it felt nice to smile like that.
It also felt nice to brush his knee against hers whenever he moved. Yes, it was on purpose, and no, he didn't think it was creepy. They were "dating" anyway, and the fact that they liked each other made him feel even more justified.
Plus, the material of her leggings felt really cool against his bare knees, since he had opted to wear shorts today.
Okay, he'd admit that that was a little creepy. But seriously, leggings were God's gift to mankind.
He spared another glance at her, and felt his heart skip a beat as she did the same to him.
Immediately, she turned away, a faint blush staining her cheeks. He smiled to himself, before noticing that there was also a slight purple-ish color accompanying that adorable blush.
He reached towards her face, brushing a wayward strand of hair behind her ear and prodding the discoloration gently.
She winced in pain, and he gave her a look that clearly said what-the-hell-happened.
"It's a, uhm... long story," she whispered sheepishly.
Hey guys! Sorry for the super-late update! I totally hadn't noticed how much time had passed since I last updated this one, and when I was trying to decide which story to update first, I saw I hadn't updated this one in like two weeks! So again, I am so sorry!
So obviously, Garfield and Raven are enjoying each others company, despite their nosy roommates. But that doesn't mean they're not getting annoyed by Jinx and Vic!
And Jinx and Victor really aren't trying to be the bad guys- they just think it's fun to tease our lovebirds, and though they suspect that the two like each other, they honestly don't know how much. So their teasing definitely seems a bit excessive, but that's only because they don't realize how right they actually are.
Anywhoo, again, sorry! I love you guys and I only forgot about this for two weeks! Haha
