I don't own the Teen Titans because I suck.

Garfield wouldn't stop pestering Raven about her bruise, no matter how many times she begged him. She had already explained that her and Jinx had taken their argument a little too far, and that the pink-haired girl was sporting a few bruises of her own.

But then he'd ask her why they argued, and she'd have to tiptoe around the fact that it was about him. Despite admitting her slight crush on him, she didn't want to keep reminding him that they had to stay friends until she figured everything out. Garfield had been on board with the whole "friendship thing", though she knew he was hoping they could be more- and probably soon.

"But why were you guys fighting?"

Raven suppressed a growl of annoyance as she glared at the blond.

"Just girl stuff," she deadpanned, concealing her light blush by ducking back behind Richard's laptop.

Garfield let out a huff of frustration as he rested his chin in his hand. He had the strangest feeling that it had something to do with him, on account of how hard the pale girl tried to avoid the topic. And knowing Jinx was involved didn't sit well with him- that girl was a menace. He only hoped that Raven had been defending him... or them. If they were a "them"- he still wasn't sure. He hoped they were at least a "them" in the friend-sense.

"Well, it got pretty intense, apparently, so you can't blame a guy for being curious."

Raven rolled her eyes as she continued formulating a way their country could deal with an influx of immigration. Ms. Mae had given the students a well-deserved lecture for not taking their duties as seriously as they should, resulting in an influx of work. But Raven was perfectly content with having something to do- other than stress about Garfield like some love-sick teenaged girl.

She only wished Ms. Mae had assigned something a little more interesting, like reading.

Garfield watched the top of his teammate's head as she worked on their current assignment. Richard had conveniently suggested that the group split into pairs to lessen the workload, which, naturally, left the blond to pair up with his... friend? Crush? Incredibly attractive teammate? He wasn't entirely sure what to call her, and anytime he tried to come up with something, an instant replay of their little elevator incident would pop into his head, and he'd forget what he was trying to do.

But with that thought, he suddenly found his mind wandering back to their time spent in the elevator. Shifting in his seat slightly, his knee knocked into Raven's, and she promptly sent him a glare from over the computer.

"Sorry," he muttered absently, briefly making eye contact.

Raven let out an exasperated sigh as she returned to her work, trying her hardest to ignore the adorably distracted expression on her teammate's face. And failing miserably.

"So, did you finish the book?"

Shaking himself out of his thoughts, Garfield gave the pale girl a quizzical look as his brain processed her question. "What book- Oh, yeah! I did!" he announced proudly, straightening himself in his seat. "Finished it last night, I think."

"You think?" Raven punctuated her question with an arched brow, earning a sheepish look from the blond teen across from her.

"Pretty sure," he admitted with a shrug and an innocent smile. "Like, I was half-asleep, but I remember reading the last page."

Raven nodded her head slowly, giving him a knowing look. "So, you finished it, yet you have no idea how it ended?"

"...No."

Snorting in amusement, the pale girl returned her sights to the word document in front of her. "Well, I think it's safe to say that our little wager has been rendered moot, since you didn't even properly read the book, and neither of us remember the rules, so I think it's best if I opt out of my end of the deal."

Garfield tilted his head cluelessly as her words settled into his brain, before giving her a look of outrage. "Nuh uh! No way, Rae!" he replied defiantly, pointing an accusatory finger at his teammate. "You have to play video games with me, or else I win by default!"

The pale girl gave him a surprised look, before a small smile attempted to surface. "But wouldn't you just demand I play video games?" Raven replied, shaking her head in amusement as her smile threatened to show.

Garfield was silent for a moment, thinking over her words. He had originally planned to make her play longer if he did win, but it seemed kind of redundant. Plus, now that he knew she liked him, he wanted to get a little more out of their deal. Like, a real date, maybe.

"Well, why don't you give in and then find out?" he teased.

Raven didn't like his tone, and suddenly felt very keen on winning their wager.

"How about we reestablish the rules?" she suggested dryly.

Garfield smirked at her answer, before leaning back in his chair with his arms crossed. "Alright, Rae. What are the new rules?"

Sitting up in her chair, Raven glanced towards the high ceilings as she contemplated a new set of rules. "Well, since you already read my book, I feel like using that as a part of the bet would be pointless," she began, earning a cry of outrage from her teammate.

"What! I read that thing for nothing?!" Garfield sat back up, banging his fists on the table playfully as he tried to suppress a smile.

Raven shot him a half-hearted glare, before continuing. "It's not my fault you took forever to read it," she mused with a smirk. "Just think of it as your payment for getting me to agree to playing video games."

Garfield let out an irritated huff, before a devious grin spread across his face. "Alright, fine! But how about whoever wins at the game is the winner of the bet?"

"That hardly seems fair," Raven protested. "You've been playing those pointless games for years- I've never played once."

The blond bobbed his head in agreement, realizing she had a point. "Uhm, okay, well, you can have like a few practice rounds, and I'll show you how to play. Then we can play for real! Sound fair?"

Raven wanted to point out that he was just getting her to play longer, but decided that it would be no use to argue. Plus, though she'd totally deny it, she was looking forward to spending some time with him.

But at that thought, she realized they had a giant obstacle to get around.

"Okay, I'm not trying to get out of this, but where are we going to go? Ms. Mae is already suspicious of us, and I don't want her to catch is together again."

Garfield tried not to blush at his teammate's innocent words- especially since she was only referring to when he was sick in her bathroom. But she did bring up a valid point- where were they going to hold their little competition? Either of their rooms were out- they couldn't risk being caught by their teacher or their roommates. The lobby was always crowded, plus Garfield doubted they could hook his gamestation up to the TV anyway.

That left only one feasible option, besides hauling a TV and all his games into an empty conference room.

"Uh, Richard has a gamestation, right?"

I am sorry. I suck. I suck so much. Oh my god I suck. I'm sorry.

I have no excuses really, besides being lazy. Like, I had the first couple paragraphs typed up, but I just couldn't bring myself to finish it. I mean, I guess I could say I was focusing on my other story, but I feel like that wouldn't be a good enough excuse, since I found the time to start an even newer story lol. I just suck. I'm sorry.

And this chapter is kinda short... I'm sorry about that, too. But I am already starting on the next chapter, so hopefully you guys won't have to wait months for it lol

Forgive me? :)
