A few days before…

Gilgamesh was standing still, his blood orbs spacing out as he crossed his arms. His toes tapped occasionally, trying to help him get more of his infamous patience.

Where was that man? He had been waiting for about fifteen minutes, and he saw no sign of his arrival. How could he make Him, the mighty Gilgamesh, wait for so long? Although Gilgamesh surely had higher toleration for him, for he was the only one he acknowledged as friends—even brother in arms—he wasn't going to let him pass this time. Now let's see… what shall he do to make him pay, eh?

Gilgamesh smirked. He would not go easy on him.

As he reverted his gaze back to the gate he was supposed to meet him, a middle-aged woman caught his eye. He didn't know why, but she looked fairly familiar to him—although he was one hundred percent sure he had never met her before. The woman brought quite a lot of groceries in her hands and she was walking quickly, not really paying attention to her surroundings.

As she was going to walk past him in a few more steps, the woman tripped over a stone and fell down with a loud thud, followed by the scatter of her belongings. The few people at the street turned their head at the small ruckus and stared for a while in curiosity. Having the woman fall right before him, Gilgamesh spontaneously bent down and looked at her with furrowed brows.

"Oi, are you alright?" he asked with a slight concern.

The woman abruptly looked up, her expression twisted with shame. Her turquoise orbs stared at Gilgamesh's blood red ones for a while before she looked away. She cleared her throat. "I can get up myself; I don't need your help."

Gilgamesh raised his brows. "Alright..."

As soon as she got up, she dusted off her clothes and hastily picked her belongings, looking slightly overwhelmed. Gilgamesh had spontaneously picked up the plastic bag that fell just beside his toes and nonchalantly handed it over. The woman looked at him and snatched it away.

Gilgamesh stared at her as she finished composing herself back. She stared back with furrowed brows, her lips slightly agape. Then, she closed it without a word and walked past him.

"I'm not gonna thank you or anything, you know," she said before walking away.

Gilgamesh only raised his brows once again. What a strange woman, he thought. Shrugging, he decided to just ignore the strange encounter and walk closer towards the gate. It had been about twenty minutes now, and if that man—

"Gil!"

Hearing the familiar call, Gilgamesh turned his gaze.

"Enki…"

There stood that familiar long green haired man, nonchalantly grinning widely as he walked—ignoring the fact that he had made the King of the District wait for so long. Even so, Gilgamesh couldn't suppress his smirk as he crossed his arms.

"You're late, bastard."

Saber looked down as she sat.

The atmosphere was intense. The King of Knights was currently sitting at the dining table, in front of her a banquet of roasted chicken laid out with a mouth-watering aroma. Under any normal circumstances, she would dig in and finish it with a rocket speed. Even so, she stayed still, quiet and even rigid in the stare of the woman in front of her—her Mother, Igraine Pendragon.

"I've told you, Mother; he is just one of my acquaintances. We happened to meet today and he offered to take me home, since I was late for the bus," Saber explained once again with a straight look. Under the chair, her fingers fiddled around nervously.

"You have an interesting acquaintance," Igraine commented. "And you said you were having some business with him? Now, you said you just happened to meet him?" she asked with maximum suspicion.

Saber mentally slapped herself for her inconsistency. "I mean—well, I had some business with him, but it was a sudden one so we didn't plan the meeting. Luckily, I was able to meet him anyways," she carefully explained, praying that her Mother would accept it.

"And this business is?"

"Just paying back something. I don't want to owe him anything."

Saber held her composure as her mother's turquoise orbs stared intently with utmost suspicion. She must look confident in herself, or else she won't believe her at all.

After some seconds that felt like forever, Igraine seemingly decided to let her daughter go. "Alright then. Be careful next time."

Saber unnoticeably sighed full of relief. "Yes, Mother."

"Now let's dig in. It'd be a shame to let the food get cold."

Saber smiled, nodding happily. Igraine smiled back at her only daughter's bright façade, her blonde locks that resembled her own, and her ever-growing figure. It had been a while since they had some bonding time together, she thought as she placed a piece of meat in her plate.

"So, how was school for you?"

Gilgamesh was—as always—skipping his classes and strolling around the town. He lazily gazed at the bright sky and stretched his body, yawning. It was such a shame to waste such a nice weather just studying inside the hellishly boring class, letting those annoying teacher try to teach him what they thought he must have not known. He walked, didn't really paying much attention to his surroundings as he considered a way to spend his spare time for the day.

He was waiting for the traffic lights to turn red when a clatter resounded. Something rolled near his feet, stopping and falling with a light clink when it met the tip of his shoe. Furrowing his brows, he scouted down and took the small metal thing, examining it. It was a silver ring, mostly plain with a small 'P' engraving on its side.

Not long after, footsteps raced into his direction and he looked up as it stopped. He only stared in disbelief as he saw the mid-aged woman who stared back at him with confused eyes.

"…You're that weird woman from before."

"…You're that kid from before."

They blinked, surprised at the fact that they said the sentence in unison. The woman looked at him with an offended look. "What do you mean, weird woman?"

Gilgamesh shrugged. "It's nothing," he replied nonchalantly. The woman narrowed her eyes, but Gilgamesh stared at the metal piece in his hand instead. "I suppose this is yours?"

The woman looked full of relief as she eyed the silver ring in his hand. "Yes, it is," she replied, and Gilgamesh handed it over.

"Thank you. By the way, I'm sorry for the incident from before. I shouldn't have acted so ungraceful back then," she apologized, slightly bowing politely.

Gilgamesh shrugged again. "It's alright, really." He didn't really care.

The woman nodded. She then, as if a switch had been pushed inside her mind, noticed Gilgamesh's state of clothing and furrowed her brows. She crossed her arms.

"Shouldn't you be at class now though, kid?"

"You look content today, Saber."

Saber turned her head, her gaze welcomed by her male best friend's warm smile. She stared in confusion. "I'm glad that you do," Shirou added.

"I… look content?" she repeated with a puzzled look.

"Well, yeah. You looked out of it yesterday," another voice replied. Rin sat on a chair across her and leaned back, her dark orbs looking at her. "But you smiled like an idiot for no reason several times today. And don't you deny it—although it was faint, I knew what I saw."

Sakura joined the conversation, staring at her with questioning lavender eyes.

Saber was going to protest, but she couldn't suppress her smile. "Well, I guess my mood is slightly better today."

"Really? Why?"

Saber only smiled to herself, not really caring to explain. Despite of all the ruckuses she experienced the day before, she finally had a nice, long family talk with her mother. It had been a long time since they had such interaction, and due to Saber and her Mom's personality and activities, they didn't really know much about each other's life experiences and troubles, and the talk at the night before made them understand each other better. Saber got to discuss some of the problems she couldn't handle, and her mother also wisely gave her advices about it. It helped a lot in relieving her stresses, and well…

…she just enjoyed it that much.

Moreover, she cleared her problem with Gilgamesh—although only on a small scale. She still didn't know what he had in store for her, but at least she was one step closer from getting free from her debt.

"I had some problems solved, and I had a nice time with mother, that's all," Saber finally answered shortly.

"I see." Sakura smiled.

Rin nodded and crossed her arms. Her eyes brightened as a thought crossed her mind. "That settled, what do you say about going with us somewhere today? Maybe the mall, or the arcade."

"That sounds nice. It's been a while," Shirou agreed.

The two looked at Saber and Sakura for affirmation.

"I'm sorry, guys, but it looks like I can't go. I have a club meeting today," Sakura interrupted with a frown. Saber furrowed her brows as she remembered something.

"Ah… yes. I also have to train some of our kendo club juniors today. I'm sorry."

Rin pouted. "Geez, you guys are no fun," she spat with disappointment.

Shirou was silent as he thought of a solution. "What about tomorrow, then? Do you have something to do, too?"

"Eh… no," Sakura answered after a brief thinking.

"I don't have one either," Saber replied.

"Me neither."

"Then I say we go tomorrow, how about that?" the brunette suggested. Sakura nodded in affirmation.

"I'm fine with that," Rin agreed. She looked at Saber. "Oi, busy lady, you okay with it?"

"That's alright. I don't have any activity afterschool tomorrow as well," Saber agreed, ignoring Rin's remark.

The four looked at each other and smiled as they parted ways, collecting their belongings.

The next day, everyone was eager about the plan. After picking up their bags, they went off on foot. They decided to go to the mall, since it got everything they'd need—café, arcade, and stores. Besides, it was only fifteen minutes away from school. Shirou spoke about a new game release he'd been waiting for, and they decided to stop by the game store since Sakura also wanted to buy a new game for her brother's upcoming birthday.

They chatted all the way, laughing as they exchange stories.

As they passed by the small park, Rin—who was walking on front—stoppedon her steps and stared at a figure that now blocked the way. She furrowed her brows and gulped quietly. "It's… you again."

There stood Gilgamesh, his expression's flat as he looked atthe group. "What do you want with us?" Rin –feeling slightly annoyed—asked with all the courage she could muster. Behind her, the group stared with nervous anticipation.

Gilgamesh walked past Rin, ignoring the whole group as he made his way towards Saber. "Saber," he called.

"…yes?" Saber asked uncertainly. The rest of the group only stared in shock as they witnessed the scene.

Gilgamesh threw his gaze around and gave an annoyed look. He then—without warning—grabbed Saber's hand and pulled. "Come with me," he commanded.

The latter let out a slight shocked gasp, staring wide-eyed back and forth between the blonde man in front of him and her friends.

"Hey!" Rin spontaneously shouted at the sudden act. Shirou only gawked.

"Eh, wait, you—" Saber stuttered with confusion.

Gilgamesh stopped on his tracks just to turn back to the group and smirk. "I'll borrow her for a while if you don't mind."

"Of course we mind, you dumbass!"

Gilgamesh's eyes twitched at the insulting remark, but he chose to ignore it—well actually, he chose to ignore all of them—and walked away, dragging Saber along.

The group—now left by Saber—stared with open mouth. Shirou was the first to speak up and break the silence.

"…what's the meaning of this?"

A/N : Okay, okay. Just hear out my apology, people.

I know I've been a jerk here, but really, school had taken all of my freedom away now that I'm a 3rd grader. I barely have time to write and draw between all of the ruckuses. I even abandoned a page I admin for a while.

And I experienced a bad WB. Didn't know what to write even though I've conducted some plots with Assault. Everything I typed sounded like crap then. Maybe because every time I write I always get interrupted, or too much stress to think?

Also, I was writing another story for a contest/challenge. It's a Pandora Hearts OzEcho written in Indonesian, in case you're interested. (Might translate to English later too.)

So… I'm sorry?

I can't guarantee a flash update, but all your feedbacks are gold and diamonds to me. It's what encourages me and help me reflect and fix myself. Besides, it makes me smile like an idiot.

So… one good deed, why not?

Ciao! Hope you enjoyed it!
