((Yeah,n I know I'm sorry))
E is for Experiment
He knew it was considered wrong for him to experiment on Mai without letting her know what exactly he was doing, but he also knew that given his reason for his experimentation he would be unlikely to ever obtain her consent. So he carried on in secret.
He wanted to see just what it took for Mai to really blow her stack so each day he pushed her a little more. It started small. Calling her by her first name without any honorifics. She was quite fetching when he was flumixed and he took every oppertunity he could to do just that to her.
Then came the tea. The endless tea. He'd demand it sometimes just so he could dump it out his window because he delighted on the disgruntled look on his assistant's face. She was positively adorable when she gave him her heated looks and it didn't take her long to calm down.
IT came as no surprise to him when; during the course of his experimentation Mai began to retaliate. It was small at first. So small that he wasn't even sure it was her way of fighting back or if she was just that dumb. Her lateness for example. At first he chalked it up to her short attention span and lack of attention to detail. Yet when he'd tracked it he noticed that she was always late the days after he was especially sharp with her.
Then it was the tea. On the days when he was nicer his tea was warm instead of tepid.
Mai was bucking his experiments it seemed but he couldn't figure out if she knew, till one day..
She dropped his tea beside him while he looked over a file and when he'd reached for it he had been remiss to find that it was cold. He grimaced and looked up to see Mai standing in his door way smirking at him.
"If you're going to write down your experiments in English then you might want to stop giving me lessons in it or stop leaving your notebook on your desk during your lunch." She smiled at him and then turned and walked away, swinging her hips as she went.
He smirked at her retreating back for a moment before he opened his notebook to a new page.
Only this time he wrote in German.
