I is for Ignore

I'm just going to sit in my office, type of my reports and case studies and ignore those two doing whatever it is they do instead of actual flirting. Now I'm no a huge flirt by any means but I'm also not an emotionally repressed genius who has a terminal case of narcissism either.

Those two dance around each other. Stealing a glance here, or giving a look there. It would be pathetic if it wasn't so damn funny.

"I hate you." The door slams shut, is opened and slammed again, this time so hard my monitor shakes. "I hate you, I HATE YOU! I hope you choke on your tea!" I can hear Mai yelling at 'Naru'," Who I"m sure it smirking at his young assistant.

Haven't they caught on yet.

"I hate you Naru, DO YOU HEAR ME!" She's standing in the lobby now and yelling at his closed door. I can feel a long suffering sigh escape my lips. It's a damn good thing that I'm well paid or I'd have quit this job ages ago. I can't even think with this nonsense so I open my cell and send a message to Naru to just get this over with.

Just kiss her already, or I will, just shut her up you idiot.

Once I hit send I congratulate myself on my cleverness. the boy will no doubt be unable to come up with any witty response. Mai is the ultimate chink in his armor. The only one he takes any crap from. I smirk myself imagining what he's going to say and return to my report. Mai has quieted down so I can see that I won't have to carry through on my threat.

When my door is forcefully pushed open I'm momentarily shocked but I recover quickly and just focus back on my monitor.

"Go home Lin, you've obviously been working too hard. Your brain has become addled." My young charge says to me.

I smirk without turning to face him and ignore him as he ignored Mai. Now he can know first hand how it feels. He says nothing but I can feel him glaring. After a few minutes he moves on most likely to torment Mai some more.

I ignore my report and try to hear what those two idiots are up to now.

It's just too funny not to.
