They do not sleep in their apartment but instead decide to stay at Meredith's old house with Cristina and Alex. Both welcome them to stay with Sofia for as long as they need. Other than the cry they first heard when being brought out of the apartment Sofia seems for the most part unaffected. The same can not be said for her mothers. Lauren was not in their apartment when the swat team went in and after Sofia was taken from the house the small family was taken to the station. Sofia played with toys in a room carefully watched by both women. Both were made to relive the night of the storm and the events that lead up to the kidnapping. Callie listens as Arizona recounts sleeping with the woman the night of the storm and Arizona listens as Callie recounted all the incidents that have happened between her and Lauren since the night of the storm including the near altercation. Their entire recent past that both women have been working to put behind them is once again in the open and openly taunting their happy ending. By the time they go to bed both women are emotionally exhausted and little is said as they fall into a restless sleep.
Arizona awakens to find the space between her and Callie empty. She begins to panic when her eyes fall on a note from Cristina letting her now that Sofia came looking for provisions and Cristina obliged. Arizona groans imagining what those two are eating.
"Sofia!" Callie screams coming out of a dead sleep. Arizona manages not to scream herself from Callie's sudden outburst but she can feel he heart pounding against her rib cage. She turns towards a wild eyed Callie and reaches out and strokes her wife's cheek.
"Hey it's okay. Sofia woke up early and Cristina left us note to tell us she took her downstairs for breakfast." Arizona shows Callie the note and her face visibly relaxes as she falls back onto the pillow.
"I feel like I hadly slept." Arizona can hear something in Callie's voice. She isn't sure what it is but it terrifies her.
"Hey,hey look at me." Arizona waits and watches as Callie seems to struggle internally with looking at Arizona. "Calliope please." Callie's breath hitches and although she holds out for a few more seconds she turns her head towards Arizona. The blonde moves closer and leans her forehead against Callie's relieved when she does not pull away. "You have no idea how sorry I am that this has happened." Arizona attempts to fight the oncoming tears but it is a lost cause. " I would give my life for Sofia, to keep her safe and out of harms way. You have to know that Calliope and I will do everything to make sure that crazy bitch gets nowhere near our daughter again" Callie keeps eye contact with her the entire time and when she finishes speaking leans in and kisses Arizona softly on the lips.
"I know of course I know but she took our daughter and I have never wanted to cause harm to a person more then I do that woman and it scares me but I never doubted your love for Sofia." Callie leans in again and places another soft kiss on the blonde's lips." Now let's go see what Cristina is feeding our child.
"Callie!" Alex bellows over the the singing penguins currently occupying her wife and daughter.
"Yeah?" Callie answers back not willing to move from her spot.
"Gorgeous!" Callie hears in a familiar voice and let's out a squeak of excitement as she gets up from her seat and is greeted with Angel, Jason, and Jesse in Alex and Cristina's living room.
"They said they knew you." Alex shrugs slightly confused.
"We thought we had the the wrong house when Mr. Surly but handsome answered the door."Angel nods towards Alex. Alex isn't sure if he should be insulted or flattered instead he opts to lean against the wall and watch the exchange.
Angel walks forward and wraps Callie up in a hug. Callie's eyes fill up with tears and reaches one of her hands in the direction of the living room she left Arizona and Sofia in beckoning them forward. The blonde picks up Sofia and grabs holds of her wife's hands as Angel and Callie break from their hug. Jason and Jesse both come forward to hug Callie and say hi to Arizona.
"I called Erica yesterday and she seemed pretty upset. It took me forever to get it out of her but she finally told me what happened, you know we had to be here to help in any way you guys need." Angel looks at Sofia and smiles.
"I am sorry this is Sofia, our daughter." Callie smiles when each of her friends introduce themselves to Sofia with much flourish. It is followed by a squeal of delight when the men produce a princess crown and soon Sofia has made three new friends. They stay a little longer bringing an unsuspecting Alex into the mix of the conversation. They make plans to get together later that night and Jesse promises to make sure Erica comes to. The noise level decreases when they leave. Alex looks at the door slightly dumb founded.
"Who were they again? Alex asks looking towards.
"You know when I went MIA for those few days?" Alex nods his head.
"Yeah, it was three days of making sure she ate.' Alex nods towards Arizona. She is watching the movie again a crowned Sofia in her lap. The though that Alex had to make her eat while she was gone sobers Callie.
"I meet them at the hotel bar and before I knew it they had made their way into my life. Just so happens they are Erica's cousins. They helped me from falling apart the same way I did when George cheated on me." Alex nods his head.
"I like them." Callie glances towards Arizona thinking about what Alex said.
"Hey don't feel guilty I looked out for her and made sure she got enough in her system to keep her going. You had every right to take a second and fucking breathe." Alex whispers so Sofia doesn't hear. "Personally I do not know why you keep getting cheated on I..."
"Alex I love you but if you finish that sentence I will go find a brick." Arizona calls back never taking her eyes from the T.V. screen. Alex rolls his eyes.
"Whatever, the fact remains that you are still here and you are trying just as much as Arizona. No matter what happens between you two you will always have my respect for that." Alex gives her a rare smile and grabs his bag.
" I have to go meet Jo. I will see you guys later." He calls out to Arizona and Sofia.
"See you Alex."
"Bye unckle Alec!"
Callie shuts and locks the door after him and rejoins her girls in enough time to see the penguin get the girl.
They drop off Sofia with Meredith both women too uneasy to leave her with anyone else and head to the restaurant Angel and her agreed on. Arizona is quiet and Callie reaches for her hand as the blonde drives.
"I am nervous." Arizona offers.
"You know you have meet them all before. It is the first time that you have meet Jesse and person but not the first time ever baby." Arizona shakes her head.
"It's not that. They care about you. Tonight I am going to be with a group of people that care about you and the reason that they have any cause for concern is because of something that I did in what seems another lifetime. Lauren took Sofia because she wanted to hurt us. We are going to tell them everything that has happened recently and it's because of me." Arizona pulls into the restaurant parking lot and stops the car.
"Arizona look at me." It takes her a few seconds but she eventually looks at her wife. "You made a mistake. The fact that this women is bat shit crazy is not your fault. Sofia is here and safe and I have no doubt that you will do everything to keep us safe. Am I right?" Arizona nods furiously. "Then tonight we walk in their and tell our friends what they can do to help exactly like they asked." No one blames you, or Cristina and Alex would not allow you to stay in their house and Meredith wouldn't allow you to be the one to drop off Sofia. They are with us okay?" Arizona nods head.
"Good" Callie checks her make up in the mirror one more time and smile at Arizona. "Then let's go beautiful."
A/N: I would just like to say that Lauren will get her come comeuppance. It will not be immediate but it is coming. She has no chance with Arizona anymore. At this point Lauren has lost all rational thought. In short the woman is cray cray. Also Jesse maybe here to stay for some time! He may or may not be getting involved with someone!
