A/n: I wrote this chapter before Caterina Scorsese was added to the cast full time and I'm excites that I added Amelia to this story. Although in this version she is not involved with anyone from her time on Private Practice. I would also like to make you guys aware of endgame at this point. Since it is taking me longer to post chapters.
This story will be Callie/Erica by the end. I will not bash Arizona or make her look crazy. She will be in the story until the very end. In a early chapter she said she would do whatever Callie needed including letting her go. Events will happen in future chapters that will set that into motion. For all those that feel this is you exiting point I would like to thank you for reading this and hope it was a good read thus far. Everyone else let's continue shall we?
Arizona watches Callie, Sofia, and Cristina play candy land on the living room floor. She watches from the kitchen as she cooks dinner because if they had left it up to Cristina they would all be doomed or eating dinner from a cereal box. Arizona had contemplated telling Callie what Erica had said but in the end decided against it. It was just what she needed to not let what was happening with Lauren ruin her marriage with Callie because she has no doubt Erica would be true to her word. She also knows that they need to go back home. They have been at Alex and Cristina's for a week now and although neither Alex nor Cristina seem to be rushing them out she knows it is for the best. She will not allow that women to run her family out of their home permanently. Arizona is so deep in her thoughts she does not notice Alex come into the kitchen and start poking around in the pots on the stove. She does notice him in enough time to stop him from dipping a spoon into one of the pots.
"Really it is almost done. Think you can hold on another ten minutes?" Alex really considers the question and lowers the spoon.
"Fine but I am timing it and after ten minutes all bets are off." Alex grabs a bottle of water instead and takes a seat at the counter. Arizona watches him down half the water bottle in one go. She quietly closes the kitchen door and turns back to Alex.
"Think I could tell you something and it stay between us and when I mean us I mean not even Jo can know."
"Sure" Alex replies wiping his mouth with the back of his hand.
"When I went to pick up Sofia from Erica's house this afternoon she basically told me that if I ever messed up she would give me a run for my money for Callie."Arizona rushes out. Alex raises his eyebrow at her calm but rushed delivery of the information.
"And what did you say?"
"What can I say to that? It is not like she is getting in the way right now and she is helping with Sofia not to mention her three cousins and they are a big help considering the rest of us our surgeons with unreliable schedules at best." Arizona runs her hand through her hair and leans against the counter next to Alex. "It just means I can't mess this up or she let me know exactly what she would do. I don't intend to make the same mistake again." Alex nods his head and finishes the rest of his water bottle.
"At least she had the balls to tell you to your face and you know she won't creeper stalk you guys like Boswell." Arizona rolls her eyes at the mention of the other woman's name. "So you don't mess up again." Alex shrugs. "Sounds simple enough and just an FYI you have four minutes left before I am digging around in those pots again. Arizona rolls her eyes with a smile and goes to serve dinner.
They go back home a couple of days latter. Arizona continues to receive messages from Lauren but is no longer concerned about them. She figures the woman will have to give up eventually so instead Arizona focuses on Callie and Sofia and she is content that in this moment everything is okay for her little family.
Jesse is on his way out of the hospital from having lunch with Callie and Erica when he spots a a gorgeous woman down the hallway. She is talking to a guy in a lab coat and he immdeatley deflates. It would figure that she was already taken. When the man turns he realizes that it is Derek Shepard. Jesse does not know him that well but has meet him in passing and knows enough that he is married to Callie's friend Meredith. Jesse watches them for a few more seconds and makes a mental note to ask Callie about her because he can get a woman regardless of what Angel and Erica may think. It takes all of an hour for curiosity to get the best of him. He sends a text to Callie and waits expecting the reply to take awhile but is surprised when he gets a response within minutes. Amelia Shepard, he now has a name for the gorgeous lady. He nearly jumps out of his skin when his phone starts to ring and Callie's name shows up on the screen.
"Um, hello?" Jesse asks still attempting to slow his heart rate.
"Are you interested in one of the Shepard women?"
"One? you mean there are more?"
"Yes, Derek has like twenty sisters but the only dark haired women that would be following him around the hospital is Amelia. Meredith told me she flew in last night but that is beside the point are you interested.?" Jesse squirms a little he feels like he is being interrogated by an older sister he never had.
"Well yeah, I mean that is why I asked you about her I thought..."
"Jesse before you make any moves promise me you will give me a couple days to talk to Derek."
"I don't understand." Jesse asks confused and starting to question his decision.
"Just trust me on this okay?"
"Alright of course I trust you.'
"Good." Callie responds satisfied. "I have to go but I will call you back later." Jesse says his goodbyes and hangs up the phone. He was already nervous about asking this woman out but now his nerves had doubled. He has two days to ponder what Callie would have to talk to Derek for but he really does trust Callie so he will wait, but only for two days.
Callie watches Amelia with Zola and Sofia as they play in the living room. She is at the Shepard household to pick up Sofia but was side tracked by watching the woman that Jesse had interest in play with the two girls.
"If I didn't know any better I would be worried about the way you were looking at her." Callie laughs at Meredith's remark not taking her eyes off the three.
"Do you remeber Jesse?" Callie asks. Meredith nods her head.
"Yeah he is Erica Hahn's cousin, guy from Wisconsin." Callie nods her head.
"That would be the one. He texted me the other day asking about a dark haired woman he saw talking to Derek. He said it looked like he knew her. I knew Amelia was here so I put two and two together. I was going to talk to Derek but can I ask you a few questions?" Meredith looks at her a little confused.
"Okay sure." Meredith replies still unsure.
"Is she okay to be seeing someone. I heard she went through some stuff a little while back and I don't want Jesse's interest getting either into something they can't handle." Meredith smiles and looks towards the living room.
"A few years ago and I would have been worried about leaving her alone in a room with two young kids that might overwhelm her. Not anymore she has come a long way and is in a better place then she once was. Jesse seems like a good a guy. I think it would be good for her."Callie smiles bright at Meredith and goes to get Sofia. That is all she needed to hear.
Jesse throws a pile of clothes and blankets off his bed. He can hear his phone vibrating distantly but can't find the damn thing now. He throws a pillow off his bed and grabs his phone from it's hiding place. He can see the message alert at the top of the phone and quickly opens up his messages and finds one from Callie. He whoops loudly as she gives the okay he had been hoping for. Jason comes running into the room with a bat and Angel follows closely behind with a frying pan.
"What happened are you okay?" Jason asks looking around the room. Jesse rolls his eyes at the two.
"While I am so glad you would come to my aid I am fine."
"Then what was all that hollering for?" Angel asks.
"You'll find out." Jesse smiles wide. "Now can you please bring that frying pan in here so we can make some dinner. I'm starving!"
