Mini Short 1: Training with the Companions

"Are you sure this is safe?" I asked as Farkas and Ria tied the harness around my torso. Apparently, as the new guy, I got to do all the bad jobs. That's the way it is anywhere, but I'm not so sure about this. It sounded like a bad idea when I was drunk last night and it sounds much worse now that I'm sober. Divines help me.

Farkas gave me a reassuring smile, "Of course it is, Vilkas came up with it! Aela even helped with the weapon choice! They're really good at that kind of stuff! I mean, Kodlak wouldn't have agreed if he thought it was dangerous, either."

"But, you're turning me into a flying pincushion. How is this even going to help anything?" I failed to see the logic in this, plus it was designed by the two people who hated me most. If I've ever had a bad feeling, this was it. "Farkas, if I die from this, two things must happen. One, please send my remains and belongings to my family in High Rock. Two, I will be that annoying ghost that moves everything slightly to the left when someone goes to get anything here."

"Aw, but think of all the help you're gonna be if we have to try and not hit you while firing arrows. You'll be a hero to followers everywhere!" Ria interjected before giving the thumbs up to Eorlund by the lever of the contraption I'm currently tied to.

Suddenly, I was flung all over as arrows whizzed past me. It was...strangely exhilarating. Thankfully, everyone had pretty good aim and I only lost one lock of hair from the entire ordeal. When I was finally unceremoniously dumped on the ground, all the companions came over. Vilkas and Aela had a rather smug look on their face while Kodlak and everyone else just looked concerned. I gave a broad smile, "Let's do that again! WOO!"
