A/n- I am working really hard to get to chapter 20 before I start school again on Wednesday. Chapter 18 is in its final draft and I am writing chapter 19 now. You know when you are on a break and you feel like you have all the time in the world and it turns out you don't. Yeah, that is pretty much what happened to me. I am determined to get chapter 20 out though. I want to thank everyone that is reading this and commenting. I really appreciate it! And now without further ado chapter 17.

Callie wakes up disoriented and it takes her a minute to remember why she is in a hospital room. Arizona convinced her to spend the night in the hospital as a patient. Callie agreed for Arizona's sake. She looks for her wife but does not see her anywhere in the room. She can feel the panic start to rise and is about to get out of the hospital bed when the door opens. Arizona enters the room balancing Callie's favorite coffee and muffin from the coffee cart in front of the hospital.

"Hey, I was trying to make it back up here before you woke up." Arizona places the items on the table next to Callie and leans in to give her a kiss on the side of her head. "How are you feeling?" Callie isn't sure what it is but she has a feeling something is wrong, as if something changed while she slept.

"Sore but I have survived worse." Callie smiles in hopes of easing the uneasy feeling. Arizona smiles back but it is not the smile that she is used to. It is not the smile she has worked so hard to get back.

"We are just waiting for the discharge papers and we can go home. Alex and Jo said they would bring Sofia by a little later." Callie nods her head and Arizona grabs the breakfast she brought in earlier. "I got your favorite." She takes Arizona's offering but does not eat it right away like she normally would.

"Are you okay?" Callie asks fearing the answer. She knows something is wrong with the blonde and she can't shake the feeling that it is going to change things for them.

"No, but I will be." Callie sees the way Arizona looks at her and she has a feeling that Arizona is burdening herself with guilt. Callie takes a drink of her coffee and sighs happily attempting to lift the blonde's spirits.

"Thank you." Callie says eyes closed. Arizona smiles and brushes some hair away from Callie's face.

"Anything for you."

Arizona checks her phone for what she feels is the hundredth time today. They had given Callie time off and not being near her wife was driving the blonde insane. She had taken off a couple days to be with Callie but the brunette had insisted she return to the hospital. The tiny humans needed the blonde to Callie had reasoned. So Arizona returned to work the next day. Arizona had found a way around it much to Callie's annoyance. She had as much as of the staff as possible checking in on Callie as much as possible. She has roped Angel and Jason into helping as well but that had not taken much convincing. Jesse had returned to Wisconsin but promised to be back as soon as possible. Arizona glanced at her phone again and found a message from Callie. She hurried to open it only to roll her eyes when she read the message from Callie telling her she was fine and to stop worrying. Arizona pushed her hand through her hair. Lauren had been arrested and Callie was placing charges.

She had just found out that they had questioned Boswell's mental health and that she has been found unfit to stand trial. She did not know how she was going to tell her wife that the woman that had done so much to hurt her in so many ways will not truly pay for what she had done. It weighed on her mind heavily and was pretty much all Arizona thought about since she has found out. She had only about an hour until her shift ended. She slipped her phone into her pocket and went to check on a few more patients before she headed home.

The first thing Arizona heard when she opened the door was Callie's laughter. She opened the door to find Callie and Erica looking at the brunette's laptop. The blonde could just make out Jesse's Facebook page open on the screen. For that moment Arizona put aside the news she had for Callie and enjoyed her wife's laughter. When she walked into the apartment fully making her presence known Callie brightened even more at the sight of her.

"Hey" Callie greeted happily.

"Hi" Arizona replied leaning down to kiss Callie. She could see the happiness in Callie's eyes. It reminded her that she would be the one to take that happiness away. She knew Callie didn't blame her even though Arizona felt she should, because of that she allowed the guilt to tear at her.

"Erica and I were just looking at some pictures that Jesse had tagged us in." Arizona looked at the screen to see what Callie and Erica had been laughing at. The picture on the screen showed Jesse leaning towards a statue of the Fonz from happy days to give the statue a kiss on the cheek. The statue was smiling wide with both thumbs up and actually made for a funny picture. Callie's attention had returned to the computer so she did not notice that Arizona smiled half-heartedly at best. Erica looked at the shorter woman as she put up her coat with concern. Arizona seemed to be acting different since she had seen the aftermath of Lauren's attack. Erica knew she was letting the guilt consume her. Erica gathers her things as Arizona returns to the living room and stands ready to leave.

"I think I am going to head out. I will see you tomorrow to take Sofia to the park." Callie nods and Erica makes her way to the door.

"And we can look at the rest of these." Callie smiles nodding her head to the computer screen.

When Erica passes Arizona she puts her hand on the shorter woman's shoulder and gives a reassuring squeeze before she exits the apartment closing the door behind her. Arizona sits next to Callie and takes her hand.

"I love you so much. You know that right?" Callie slides the computer from her lap to the coffee table and turns towards Arizona.

"Of course I know. Arizona what's wrong?" Callie asks.

Arizona responds by leaning forward and pressing her lips to her wife's. Callie gasps overcome by all the emotions of having the blonde's lips against hers again so passionately. The surprise only lasts for a second before Callie is pulling Arizona down on top of her, their lips still attached. Arizona breaks the kiss and looks into Callie's eyes as her hand starts to slowly travel up the brunette's shirt. The blonde is waiting for any indication that she should stop instead she is encouraged when she feels Callie's back start to arch underneath her touch.

Both women gasp when Arizona's hand reaches Callie's bra covered breast. She squeezes and Callie moans pressing the smaller woman's body closer. She starts to nibble on Callie's ear knowing that used to be one of the places she could count on to get Callie to whimper. She finds it still is. She removes Callie's shirt and let's her hands roam her wife's skin as if attempting to memorize it.

Callie can only stand this for so long needing more. She shifts into a sitting position and with surprising strength lifts her and Arizona from the couch. The blonde gasps and begins to protest but Callie shakes her head. Her injuries are for the most part healed and the tiny amount of physical pain she may be feeling is worth it.

"Kiss me." Callie demands sending chills down Arizona's spine. The blonde wraps her arms around Callie's neck and her legs around her waist. She leans down and kisses Callie hungrily as the brunette walks them to their bedroom.

Arizona draws patterns on the bare skin of Callie's stomach as she sleeps. There are still visible scars from the car crash; it reminds her of how strong Callie is. Callie stirs in her sleep and when Arizona looks towards her wife she finds Callie smiling softly at her. Arizona takes a deep breath and readies herself.

"There is something I need to tell you Calliope."
