W is for Wired

He had wired his office in an attempt to see who it was that was sneaking into his office after hours, or before-same difference really and moving his things around. He was going to get to the bottom of it. Both Lin and Mai had feigned innocence. So, he was going to find out just what was going on in his office. No one made a fool of him.

So with that thought he began to go over the hours of tapes he had.

Bit by bit he watched the cameras and checked to see the times of any comings and goings.

What he saw surprised him. Mai had been innocent, well at least of that but he'd have to talk to her about her touching him during the moments he gave into exhaustion.

Lin was also innocent. His old friend did his job and didn't engage in foolishness.

No it wasn't the two most obvious people who had been moving his things nightly.

It was that God damn Monk and Miko. Together. In his office. Every night. Every damn night they creeped into his office, giggling like little children. They moved his belongings around and made, what he could only assume were supposed to be an imitation of his likeness.

Well, those two thought they were so God damned funny. IT was about to get interesting.

HE watched his anger growing as he listened to them joke that he was in love with Mai. They were surprisingly close to the truth. He smirked when they began to move his books, open his drawers and he felt his heart stop because today of all days he left it unlocked. He'd been so happy that he had been able to get the cameras all set up and he'd forgotten to lock his bottom drawer.

The drawer that held his journal. His album. The framed photo of Mai, and one of him and Gene. They started to pull it open and then were stopped.

They froze when they heard the front of his office open.

Mai! What the hell was she doing there.

"YOU TWO ARE MESSING WITH NARU'S STUFF!" She shrieked. Bless her. If he wasn't already in love with the girl he'd have fallen right then. She'd come to protect his things. He really needed to pay her more.

She shooed Ayako and Takigawa out of the office and confiscated their keys. They were begging her not to tell him and she seemed undecided.

Whatever else happened he resolved to tell Mai everything when he found the right words.

That might take a while though..
