Hey, not as long this time! Woot!
…..It's sad that I'm proud of a two-three week wait
Okay, things to expect in this / following chapters depending on how long I'm going to drag this out.
1. The fight scene that was supposed to happen four chapters ago XD
2. Kiku backstory and the introducing of our friend Yao!
3. Badass Matthew action
4. Awesome Gilbert action
5. ANGST and (maybe some not so well written torture scenes….I can't write those very well but I love them so much!)
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. That being said, I don't own Hetalia…..unless anyone can pull some strings with Hima Papa?
The waiting was the hardest part. Gilbert could smell them drawing nearer, the part of him that was still human was shaking with terror. He didn't think he had experienced fear quite like this, nor did he want to ever again, but it was only made worse by his thirst.
Although he had fed not too long ago, the vampire found himself almost licking his lips in anticipation, so many humans to feed upon, so many morsels practically begging for his teeth to be sunk into them. He could drink them all dry in an instant. He could. He would. And it was going to be awesome.
'No'. His human side protested weakly. 'No. No. No! I am not a monster. I'M NOT!'
'Yes you are.' A voice answered, it was a voice that Gilbert had been warring with for several months now. It was a losing battle
With a quiet 'hmphf' that alerted no one to his inner turmoil he turned his thoughts back to the battle that would be commencing shortly, still disturbed by his eagerness.
Little did he know that he wasn't the only one. A small fox who sat attentively at the mouth of the cave was almost as eager as the vampire, though for a completely different reason. Revenge. It wasn't a word that sprung up in the mild mannered Kitsune's head often, but at the moment it was consuming his thoughts. He glanced up at the orb (A/N: This is called a Hoshi no Tama I learned. So if you don't mind I will be using that from now on) - and found it glowing and writhing, looking very much like a ball of white hot flame. Kiku had only seen it do that one other time. The day his parents and siblings were killed by the Institute.
He, as the youngest and the runt of the "litter", had been the only one small enough to crawl (in fox form) into the space between the dumpster and the pavement of the alley they had all been cornered in, the soldiers had never found him. But they hadn't disposed of the bodies either since they had all been in fox-form when they'd died. Made it look like some inhumane business owner killed off the animals rummaging through the garbage in their back lot.
Three days had passed until someone found him. That someone had turned out to be his now foster-father, Yao Wang who owned a spice shop in the same area.
He had lived a good (albeit emotionally draining and relationship strained) life with Yao, and thought he had put his lust for vengeance behind him, but now this...another attempt on his life, the ruining of his fanfiction! (Yes his journal had gotten ripped in the detention room) Oh….and that pesky war.
Speaking of, Kiku heard something, a faint thudding sound that gradually grew louder until it was like a continuous roll of thunder. It was starting. He yipped quietly to alert everyone, and to wake the few (Alfred and Matthew) that had fallen asleep. Cats really could fall asleep anywhere couldn't they?
Silently, everyone got to their feet, all eyes rested on Ludwig who was in the center of the cavern, a pistol in one hand and the other clutching the less-scared-than-people-thought-he-would-be Italian's sleeve.
"Ve all know the plan correct?"
Nine heads nodded. The plan, though rough, was a good one. Arthur would go out first, cast whatever spells he could in a short expanse of time, Lilli and Kiku (who would be both in their animal forms) flanking him and then fall back. The others would use this time to find an ideal spot to either attack, or give them a slight head start so they could run for their lives. They had all agreed that they would be horribly out-numbered and running would most likely be out of the question, so what was everyone else going to do? Gilbert had already volunteered himself to be on the "front line" so to speak and Ludwig had accepted with little reluctance at all, he hated himself for thinking it but if anyone was going to get slaughtered it might as well be the blood-thirsty murderer right? (Little did he know Gilbert was thinking along the same lines too.) Matthew would follow Gilbert, flanked by Feliciano and Ludwig giving Gilbert as much assistance as they could. Arthur and Alfred were charged with the protection of Antonio and Francis (who had had weapons thrusted into their hands, a brief tutorial on how to fire them, a pat on the back and a comforting 'don't die' as a part of their training.) Lilli refused to leave Feliciano's side and no one could quite tell what Kiku was thinking, he had kept staring straight ahead, with an expression that was a cross between grief stricken and murderous, a very bad combination on the usually expressionless Japanese boy.
"Zen let's go. Don't die." Ludwig said.
"Zanks for the awesome words of encouragement Bruder." Gilbert rolled his eyes, trying not to act like an excited puppy, but he was failing miserably due to that little (big) voice in his head that was reminding him how good the blood of his enemies would taste, man he felt like a creep just thinking that.
It was just then that the first bullet of the battle came whizzing past their ears, a warning shot. Well, at least they were considerate.
Lovino was in position. He lay flat on his stomach amidst the tall foliage outside of the cave, his rifle trained on the cave. If his luck held he could wound one of the Abnormals in there without ever having to get in close contact with them. Of course he would be shooting blind, and that was something he'd never let himself do.
"Come on out you fucking bastards." He muttered to himself, he half wondered why they hadn't ran for the hills yet, the herd of stampeding elephants (which Ivan and Natalia were referring to as their backup for whatever reason) was loud enough to let all of the United States know that they were there.
Finally the backup, more of a small army really, was in position all standing a few meters behind him, all whispering insults about the Abnormals they were about to destroy, Jesus was Lovino the only one with actual working brains.
"Maybe we should not be doing the talking, da?" Oh, maybe the oaf did have some actual brains after all. Lovino nodded thankfully in the direction of the Russian boy. After a few moments Ivan spoke again. "Perhaps we should let them know we are here." Like all the soldiers he was anxious to fight, to help rid the world of the abominations, to make it a better place. After all that is why he joined the Institute, well that and it was expected of him.
Lovino rolled his eyes, though he would never admit it he agreed with Ivan he was tired of waiting. With a final glare in the direction of whoever was nearest to him which happened to be a small, brown haired boy who looked like he'd rather be anywhere other than here and fired a warning shot into the cave hoping that he would hit one of the freaks in there. Since he heard no cries of pain or angry shouts he assumed he hadn't. Damn.
But it had done one thing, drive them out. Cautiously three figures made their presence known staying low to the ground, almost invisible. One of them had on it's human facade the other two were in animal form, canine by the looks of it.
Perfect.
Arthur stayed as low as possible to the ground, emerald eyes scanning the horizon for any sign of movement, which he found an abundance of. They weren't even trying to hide, they were just kind of standing there, guns trained on the cave mouth, from what he could tell they hadn't seen them yet.
Just as he thought those words a yelp of pain was heard beside him. Lilli was knocked on her side, her breathing labored, blood starting to mat the fur on her side where the bullet had hit her.
'SHIT.'
"Accendat flammam terra cum sceleratis!" (Ignite the land with unholy flames) Arthur yelled angrily using his strongest spell against the soldiers, A ribbon of fire was sent towards the group, particularly the sniper who had fired the shot.
Who rolled out of the way just in time and a few unlucky soldiers behind him got the blast instead. It all went to hell from there, the Institution, infuriated by the death of their comrade threw themselves into battle, the people in the cave forgot any scrap of plan they might've had and did the same.
Gilbert felt the last sliver of control he had wither away. The monster was in control now, all he could do was sit back and hope that it knew friend from foe. Scents were overpowering now, he could smell the blood running through the veins of everyone in the area, and it was mouth watering.
Those who opposed him didn't stand a chance.
I admit I had to stop the chapter there because the fight scene I was trying to write would not force its way out of my head. And I felt so bad about waiting this long to update so I cut it short. I'm sorry.
PS: If anyone out there is good at fight scenes….HELP ME.
