((I'm working on New Adventures and an idea for the sequel, I swear! Until then, enjoy this.))
J is for Junk
There was no way around it. The monk was a junk collector. Ayako sighed looking around their apartment wondering where to begin in the de-cluttering process. Who kept half of a ticket stub from a sporting even seven years ago!
Looking around she decided to just dive right in grabbed a trash bag going to the closet closest to the front door. She sighed again when she opened the door and it opened to reveal a bunch of unlabeled boxes piled haphazardly from floor to ceiling.
She'd been overjoyed when he'd asked her to move in but her joy quickly turned to annoyance when she found that it was up to her to organize and clean Takigawa's apartment so that she could find a place to hang up, well..anything. Every surface, nook and cranny of the apostate Monk's home had something. Most of those somethings were junk.
A bass with a broken neck, long since forgotten, a Betamax player-also broken, even video and cassette tapes from his teenage years. It was a good thing she'd bought a whole box of industrial size trash bags.
For several hours she worked diligently, trying to get everything before he came home and pitched a fit. She knew he'd have a problem with her cleaning up his junk; most of which he described as collectibles, but they both knew that no one was going to want to collect maneki neko dressed as monks. No one besides him that is.
As she stood and stretched her back after having been hunched over his boxes he arrived home and looked at her, the bags filled with his precious belongings, than back at his precious girlfriend. His eyes wide for a moment while he carefully considered his options. He knew that he had to think carefully because Ayako looked incredibly frustrated. He looked longingly at the bags filled with things he'd taken a life time to acquire than back at Ayako before smiling and extending his hand to her.
"Now that I've got you, who needs that old junk anyway. As long as I've got you, I'm good Priestess."
