I woke in the middle of the night to groaning. Of course I'd prepared for the zombie apocalypse so I immediately grabbed my bat and turned on my light. I scanned my room for any zombie threat then I remembered my guest. I looked over the edge of my bed and he was moving. I assumed the groaning and moaning was coming from him. I got off my bed and went to where I'd left his now room temperature glass of water. I didn't drop my bat though, I wasn't going to miss an opportunity to whack him one if it was given to me.
"Here drink." I shoved the glass in his hand. "What happened to you?"
He looked at me with eyes that were almost full of fear, but they weren't. It seemed more like an understanding. I wasn't really sure I don't know who could be absolutely sure of anything in this world anymore. He shook his head like a child who doesn't want to talk about it.
"Well, you're in my room. Until farther notice you're my prisoner." I think he was too weak to fight what I was telling him. Or maybe he just didn't have the heart to. I wasn't sure nor did I really care. "You have to keep it down. I have to go to sleep. Some of us have things to do in the morning you know."
He didn't disturb me again through the night. Though it was a bit concerning to know that there was a male in my room. Of course I reassured myself that he was tied up and I had my bat close to me that if he tried anything he'd end up hurt.
When I woke in the morning I saw that the boogieman was still at the end of my bed. He was awake more than I could say about myself. Yes I was conscious but could I really function that was yet to be determined.
"Why am I here?" he asked me.
"Because otherwise you'd be out in the world. Defenseless. I do have somewhat of a conscious you know. It would have kept me up all night telling me to go get your sorry butt from outside."
"How long?"
"Two three days. I don't lost count. Though I wasn't really counting. Was about to go dig a hole to shove your body in." I said with a smile. "But you're awake so it saves me a lot of work." I thought about telling him about Man on the Moon, but what would be the point. He either would freak out that I was talking to the 'enemy' or something. Maybe I wasn't really sure.
"Why save me?"
"I told you I was going to be bugged you were out there anyway. Plus I didn't want you scaring my siblings you did enough of that when you were gave them nightmares for days on end. I lost a lot of sleep thanks to you."
"Sorry." He said. I wasn't sure if he was being sincere or not. It was questionable that was for sure. I wanted to believe him, but he was the bad guy. You can't believe the bad guy unless you wanted to end up dead. That's what happens in movies you trust the bad guy and you end up dead. I'm not saying that my life is like a movie but sometimes it feels like it should be. I was talking to the boogieman after all.
"Sure. Now do you need something to eat? Or do you not?" I asked. Damn Allison for instilling manners into me. Why couldn't I be like other teenagers my age and be rude? What is wrong with me? Oh yeah I don't hang out with other teenagers. That's probably a huge factor into why I don't act like other teens.
"I would."
"Hope you like peanut butter and jelly." I said. I knew I could easily make Allison forget that she'd not made the sandwich. I wasn't a big fan of peanut butter and jelly, but the twins were. The twins had been known to steal a sandwich for breakfast if they could. So if one goes missing she'd probably assume that the twins had been at it again and they consumed the sandwich.
"Gen, where are you going?"
"Uh…. back to my room?" I replied hiding the sandwich behind my back.
"Sit." Allison told me. Something was about to get awkward I could feel it. "I know that there are things that are different to you. Boys are…"
"Whoa! No! Just no!" I said. "I had enough of this at school. Ain't happening." I got up.
"Sit!"
"No! I had this talk at school Allison. I get it but I'm seventeen! I don't need the talk! Dad had Aunt Erica give it to me when I was twelve! I'm fine! I'll be okay! I know what goes where and when! Please don't make anything weirder. Now I'm going to my room and forgetting this ever happened." I said.
"GEN!"
"No!" I ran and locked my door. This is not the first time Allison had tried to ambush me with 'the talk' like this. Every time I swear she gets a little closer to telling me something that I don't want to hear from her. It'd been awkward enough with Aunt Erica and even worse to have to tell Dad to get me something the first time I had my period. It was weird! I didn't need her to give me a talk. I'd just look at her funny like I did with Aunt Erica for about three years. I didn't need that in my life.
"Gen!"
"Go away!" I said though my bedroom door. I threw the sandwich at my guest. Eventually I heard Allison leave.
"Family problems?" Vamp-boy said with a smirk.
"Shut up and eat." I snapped at him. "Then I'll release you and I want you out of my sight."
"You can't get rid of me that easily."
"Yes, I know you're the boogeyman and will scare me. I ain't in the mood and I got to go to school." I said. I started to untie my guest. "Get out, see you around." I walked out the door. I could hear the school bus coming. I rushed out and hoped that things would get better later.
A/N: Probably a long awaited chapter. I hope you enjoy it a bit. There is going to be a time skip soon. Just giving you a warning a head of time. Tell me what you think with a REVIEW.
