Beth and I walked back towards the boys. Pitch and Frank looked like they were having fun talking. "Frank likes him." Beth said. "Maybe we could do a double date sometime."

"This is a onetime thing." I don't know if I was trying to convince her or myself. I saw out of the corner of my eyes that she was shaking her head. So I was lying to myself.

"Beth!" Frank said smiling. He put his arm around her. "So should we head out? We got a lot to do tomorrow."

"I think so. Gen you ready?" She asked me. I didn't really notice but Pitch came and stood next to me.

"Yeah, I got to watch the kids tomorrow." I said. Dad's and Allison's anniversary was soon. So I planned to let them have a day or two off from the twins. I'd watch the twins and keep them occupied.

"Let's head to the car." Frank took Beth's hand and led the way.

I think he forgot that I had the car keys. Which would be unfortunate I'm not even sure that he remembered where we parked. I hardly remembered where. I started to follow them when I realized that my hand was in someone else's and they weren't moving. I turned and Pitch had my hand.

"Yes?" I watched his face trying to see any expression I could. I think I saw sadness in his eyes, but I couldn't really tell.

"Stay." Pitch told me.

I laughed. "Its my car. Like I'm letting those two drive it. They're walking disasters. Let alone if I let them drive. The whole world would probably be destroyed or something."

"Please."

"I'll be fine." I said with a smile. "Nothing bad is going to happen."

"Are you sure?" It was almost like he was looking past me and talking. I turned my head slightly and didn't see anyone.

"If you want you can walk me to my car? Will that make you feel better?" I asked.

"Yes."

No POV

Pitch watched as Fate lingered around Gen. Fate had been one of his old friends much like the Moon. Fate was made of smoke usually now. Back in the day when Moon would visit Earth Fate would become solid for the man. Ever since Moon has stayed on the Moon she's stayed as wisps of smoke making the outline of a figure.

Fate did not like to be around other immortals unless it was important. She was there now. Pitch knew that something significant was going to happen. Something that could be horrible.

"You can't change her fate, Pitch." Fate said her voice was sweet almost like she was singing a haunting song that you just can't help but listen to. "Her fate won't change. You can only delay it."

"I'll delay it." Pitch said in a whisper.

"Delay what?" Gen asked looking up at him. "Delay my leaving? You've already done that. Beth and Frank are over there." She pointed to a car about three rows over. "Pitch?" She was concerned. He seemed usually to be more good-naturedly teasing and now here he was almost overly concerned about something.

"I'm fine." Pitch said.

"Okay," Gen accepted his answer though that wasn't what she wanted. She wasn't going to press the issue. Something was on his mind and it probably was something that wouldn't concern her. It was probably some boogeyman business or something. Then of course there was the entire possibility that he was going crazy. That could be it; he had been alive for hundreds if not thousands of years. Old people go crazy right?

Gen remembered plenty of times her grandparents forgot something that was right in front of them or when they started talking to themselves. It was normal for people to do that right? So Pitch was just being a normal person. Completely normal with nothing wrong with him but he did look like he was looking at someone or something. She couldn't see it. Maybe it was another being she couldn't see? If so what couldn't she see?

"Gen! Let's go!" Frank shouted. She hadn't realized that she was at the car. Pitch looked at her.

"I guess this is goodbye for a bit." Gen said. "I'll see you around?"

"Yes." Pitch said sadly.

"I'm watching the twins tomorrow. You're welcome to come help me with them?" Gen asked uncertainly. "If you want. It's just a suggestion. You don't have to."

"Maybe."

"Okay."

Gen POV

I felt like a fool as we drove home. About a mile or two up the road the traffic was almost at a dead stop. There was a horrific accident. A semi had rolled over thankfully not onto any cars.

"I wonder when that happened?" Frank said aloud.

"Maybe a few minutes before we left." Beth replied. "Good think we left a little later than planned. That could've been us."

"Yeah." I said absent-mindedly. Pitch delayed us. Delayed me. Considering the distance and the time we were going to leave this accident could have been us. It should have been us. I couldn't help but wonder if Pitch knew the accident was going to happen and he prevented it. I had to be paranoid. Pitch was the boogeyman not the 'predict the future men'. There was no way that he'd know when an accident was going to happen. What was this a final destination movie?

"Maybe we should be thankful that Gen was busy kissing her boyfriend instead of hurrying to go home." Frank teased.

"Shut up." I replied. "Not like how you and Beth were when…" Beth smacking my arm interrupted me.

"Enough." Beth said she turned in the passenger's seat to look at Frank. "Another word out of either of you and you will get it." She threatened.

"Yes mom." We both replied jokingly.

A/N: A little bit of romance, a little bit of foreshadowing, and a little bit of humor. I'd say a successful chapter. Sorry I haven't updated as quickly, but sickness has gotten my number and apparently is out to get me.
