Pitch spent all day with us. I felt like I was married to the guy at some points. He had actually played with all the kids including Jamie and his friends. Pitch had eaten lunch with us. Mrs. Bennett even liked talking to him and at one point told, when Pitch was with the kids, that he's a keeper and I should never let him go. He had even gotten Jack and Candy to leave the park with no argument and went to play with them in the yard as I made dinner.

'Don't think you're married to the guy.' I thought. 'That just leads to hope of a future. You have no future with this guy. You'll be dead long before he even gets a gray hair. He's vampire boy don't forget that.'

I sighed. Candy and Jack's laughter caught my attention and I looked out the window. Delgado and Pandora were running around in circles around Pitch. I smiled. The kids must have wanted to mess with him. Of course I would have to go get the dogs to stop. Knowing the two they wouldn't tell him if their lives depended on it. They loved their fun sometimes I think a little too much.

I went to the door. "Dinner." I called. The two got up and the dogs still circled Pitch they growled when he tried to follow the twins. "You coming?" I said trying to hold back my laughter as I leaned against the doorway.

"What is with this creatures?" Pitch asked.

"Pandora, Delgado, free." I gave the command the two dogs came to my side. Pitch looked slightly confused. "We sometimes get unwelcome visitors late at night we have the dogs circle them to keep us safe." I explained. "You could be one of them." I said to Pitch as he walked towards me. "Dad always threatened to do it to any boyfriends I'd get." I panicked at the word 'boyfriend'. "Not that I like you or anything, Vamp-boy."

"My dear, your heart will always welcome me." Pitch practically whispered in my ear. My heart fluttered. I swear if I weren't leaning against the doorway my legs would have given out.

'Stop it! Stop it! Gen you are a strong independent woman! You do not need this man! You need a good sleep! Something is corrupting you!' My brain shouted at me.

'Let him woo you! You haven't had this much fun…ever! He is hot and you're available! So what if he's way older. You got to have fun while you're still young. You have nothing to lose! You got years to find a husband. What's wrong with a little fling while you look for mister right? Its not like Pitch is bad looking. He could have experience.' My heart told me.

I didn't say a word though. I just sort of gaped at him as he walked past me into the house. I wanted to come up with something. Some retort would have been better than what I did next. I would go back in time and change what I did next if I could. That's a lie I'd just do it repeatedly.

"Pitch." I said more like a fleeting whisper. He turned to me. My hands went to either side of his face and I kissed him with as much passion as I could. "You're right." I said. "You have my heart." I realized he said what is basically true. Though I would never ever admit it loudly or to anyone else. I walked away from him and towards the twins. I got a glimpse of him from the corner of my eye before I went into the kitchen. I swear that even to this day he was red head to toe. When the twins started eating I went back to see what was taking him so long and he was gone.

No POV

Pitch entered the cave. He looked at all the pools reflecting water. Fate had to be here. She loved her reflecting pools and watching everyone through them. Fate called them her mirrors because they were similar to humans' one-way mirrors. She could look at any being she wished, but they could never see her.

"FATE!" Pitch shouted. "FATE!" He shouted again. She was here somewhere. He knew she had to be. She always looked in her mirrors at people rather than go follow them all around. "FATE!"

"No need to shout." She said appearing before him. Fate knew what he came here for. There was only one thing he wanted. "I told you, you can not change her fate."

"I need you to. I know you can. Please." Pitch begged. "Please." He was on his knees. "I think I've fallen in love with her."

"Pitch, I can not change something that is destined to happen. You know this." Fate informed him walking towards her biggest looking mirror. She didn't really want to hurt him, but it was set in stone this girl was not to live her mortal life much longer. "She is to die. The rest of her mortal life is up to you. I'll let her live for a while longer, but her death is important." So much would happen because of this girl's death. Fate could not just let her live.

"Her life is important!" Pitch shouted. "I want…I need her to live." He clenched his fists. "Please. I'll do anything."

"There is nothing you can do. Make her life happy." Fate said. "Make her have a happy life." Fate faded away.

"Fate. FATE. FATE!" Pitch screamed at the being that was no longer there. He turned to Fate's mirror in it there was Gen and her siblings. She was taking them with her to lock the gates of the cemetery up for the night. If he asked maybe Gen would let him spend more time with her…. before…he didn't want to think about it. He had to spend as much time with her while he still could.

A/N: this was almost painful to write, but here it is. What will happen? No body knows will Pitch beat Fate? Will Gen beat Fate? Will Fate win? Will Gen die? so many questions so much in this chapter.
