A/N: Hope you enjoy it.
The sun was shining; there was just the right amount of clouds in the sky. It was warm and with the just right amount of breeze to make it all feels perfect. Except that nothing was perfect. There wasn't some happy thing that was going to occur. "I screwed up…" I said my voice seemed the float with the breeze. "I screwed up, and no one knows that better than you." I said to the polished stone with an all too familiar name on it.

I took the mini-nightmare everywhere with me. It was adorable and I loved it. Frank and Beth thought that I was weird, but it was okay. It was the evening of the first full day that I told Pitch to stay away. We were going to some old high school get together that someone was throwing. I didn't understand why none of us were popular throughout high school, but alas I was out voted.
Here we were sitting around some giant campfire that really was turning into a bonfire. It was getting bigger and bigger because someone kept putting more and more wood on it. Then there was something that is uncommon. So freak of nature that none of us were sure what happened at first. We had an earthquake. Burgess is not known for its earthquakes. Heck we never get them ever it's not an earthquake zone. As I said it was a freak of nature incident. One minute we are enjoying this ever growing fire. The next we are in a crack in the Earth.
That's right this earthquake opened up a hole exactly where we were camping. I was one of the unfortunate souls to fall into the crack. Now I knew that the world was out of kill me and that moment when I fell and landed on the hard ground. I knew then I broke something, but adrenalin was going through my veins. I don't know what I broke exactly, but I know there was a lot of blood.
I was able to walk, by some miracle I could walk. I ended up walking around the hole in the ground and found what looked to be an ancient temple. "This is like the movies." I said to myself and it echoed around the weird underground temple. As I explored this place bleeding to death my mini-nightmare came out of my hoodie's pocket. I'd forgotten I'd taken the thing with me. "Hey, buddy." I told him. "About time you woke up."
My nightmare seemed excited to be here in this place. I couldn't really understand why. The metal bird cages hanging from the top of the cave/temple were a bit creepy to me.
"What's this?" I walked up to a metal globe. It was almost exactly like a modern depiction of a globe. It was then I figured this place wasn't as old as I thought it was. "What is this place?" I was a bit scared, well terrified a bit really, but I had to get out of here. People had to be looking for me. "I'm scared." I admitted out loud. That's when I heard the noise. It was a familiar noise, but I couldn't place it.
Mini-nightmare whined and stomped his hoof. That's when I heard another noise exactly like it. It was a larger nightmare, well normal sized really. A nightmare wouldn't really be here. "I'm at Pitch's lair." I said. "This is awesome!" I jumped with excitement and when I landed I felt really dizzy. I sat down on the hard ground leaning partially against the metal globe. "Something's not right." I put my hand to my head. I pulled it away and realized how wet and sticky it was. "I'm bleeding." I said I thought I just broke something. "I got a head wound." I stared at my hand. I inspected my body. I had a lot more blood on me than I should. I was losing my vision I had thought it was just the darkness, but I was wrong.
Present day
"I don't remember much after that." I said to the stone. "It sucks though. Being a ghost and all," I dusted myself off and stood. Smiling at my memorial it was a thing I did often. "No one can see me. No one can feel me. It sucks. I can't even haunt people. Dad visits though so do the twins and Allison." For some reason I couldn't really leave this area. "Frank and Beth come from time to time. So do the others." I wasn't the only one to fall into the crack and die. Several others had too. Their bodies and my own were never recovered.
"It's this way!" I heard Frank's voice shout. "Just past the ridge come on!"
"Frank, slow down!" Beth shouted. "I don't want to ruin the flowers!"
I smiled Beth brought me flowers. No one had done that yet. I had gotten a bear from my family, but no flowers yet. I wandered closer to the direction that Frank and Beth had to be coming from. I could make it about 30 feet from my memorial. I saw Frank helping Beth up a stone, she wasn't holding any flowers. That's when I saw the pale hands holding flowers up to Beth to take. I knew those hands. I knew those hands very well.
A/N: Please don't kill me. I had to do it. We all know it had to happen.
