The only sound it was the group of us breathing. There wasn't any other noise. I was surprised. Pitch should be making some noise. Everyone makes some sort of noise. Ellie's feet made a bit of noise as she walked along the ground. Lexi decided to fly a bit and made noise looking for Pitch higher up. I tried to find a nightmare. They would lead us to Pitch.

"This place is creepy." Lex said, "but kind of in a cool way."

"We should have a Halloween Party here." Ellie said.

"Could we focus please?" I asked. "We can talk about parties later."

"PITCH! PITCH!" Lex and Ellie shouted trying to find my boyfriend though I'm not sure if we were technically still together since I was dead. I tried to figure out what I could do. Pitch couldn't hear me or see me. If he couldn't I'm sure the nightmares couldn't either.

"Go away." A voice echoed very faintly. It was so faint I thought I hadn't heard it at first, but something in my gut told me I did. I shushed Ellie and Lex and headed to where I thought I heard the voice. It took me a lot of twists and turns to find the small area.

All of Pitch's nightmares were around him. What was he so afraid of? What could possibly cause him to be so afraid that all his nightmares were around him? "I found him!" I shouted to Lex and Ellie. They both came running.

All three of us pushed through the nightmares. There was Pitch. He was against the wall in an almost fetal position. His eyes looked red as if he'd been crying. I hadn't known Pitch to cry. I wasn't even sure that the man could cry. Pitch still wore the clothes that I'd seen him in the last time I saw him. It looks like he'd ended up here and just gave up. I wanted to hold him. I wanted to tell him everything was going to be okay. I couldn't though. Everything I did would go right through him. Maybe if I tried hard enough it would work.

So I tried to hug Pitch. My arms went through him, but I really didn't care. I kept them there even though he wouldn't be able to feel me. It made me feel better I would pretend that I could actually have him in my arms. I would pretend that I could hug him and feel him.

"Pitch?" Ellie asked. "What's wrong?"

"Why are your surrounded by your nightmares? What's got you so afraid?" Lex added.

"Go away."

"We're not going away." Ellie said. It was true. They'd promised that they'd get me some answers. I wanted my Pitch back, the one that annoyed me to no end, the stupid vampire boy that I'd fallen in love with. I wanted him back. "Not until you tell us. You're afraid, Pitch. You're surrounded by your own nightmares. There has to be a reason of that."

"What does it matter to you?" Pitch grumbled. His eyes looked at the two girls in front of him but they were filled with such sorrow. "Telling you will not make her come back!" He spat. "Go back to your Guardian husbands and leave me alone! They should be happy I'm not causing trouble for children anymore!"

"Not everyone's happy Pitch." Lex told him.

"Who?! Who would miss the boogeyman?"

"Gen does." Lex replied.

He visibly stiffened. His body language nearly turned to anger. I could tell he wasn't happy to hear my name. "How do you know about her? HOW!" He stood up quickly looking ready to pounce on either Ellie or Lex.

"Cause she's here Pitch." Lex said. "She's here and because of whatever is wrong with you. You can't see her or feel her. You don't believe in the Guardian that she's become!" Lex replied.

"She's dead! She will not come back! Don't tell me lies!"

"They're not lies Pitch!" Ellie shouted at him. "She's here! She missed you she's been with you! She waited for you at her death site! When you finally came for her she went right through you!"

"That's not true!" Pitch said. "I would know! I would know!"

"Just tell us what you're afraid of!" Lex shouted at him. "This arguing isn't helping us at all!"

"I'm not afraid of anything! People fear me!" Pitch said. "I'm the boogeyman."

"Vampires are scarier." I said remember the first time I met him. For some reason Ellie repeated what I said.

That caused Pitch to grab her by the shoulders and shove her against the wall. "What did you say?" He hissed at her.

"Vampires are scarier…" Ellie repeated. "Gen said that. She said that to you when…."

"We first met!" I said knowing what she was doing. She was going to tell Pitch things only I would know. So maybe just maybe he'd listen to them.

"She's here Pitch believe us." Lex said. "Just tell us what has you like this. If we figure this out then you and her can be together again. Gen misses you too."

"I don't want to forget." Pitch mumbled. I barely heard it but Lex and Ellie must have heard it loud and clear. "I'll live thousands of years and my time with her was so few." He said. "I will forget her. I don't want to forget her."

"You won't!" Lex said. "You'll never forget her Pitch. You loved her didn't you?"

"Yes." Pitch said finally releasing Ellie from holding her against the wall. His hands turned into fists at his sides.

"You won't forget your love." Ellie said. "She'd always be in your heart, but she's immortal like you now Pitch. You can spend the rest of your time together."

"Pitch." I said softly reaching for his hand. "I'm right here." I wanted to cry. I didn't think that's why he'd not see me. He didn't want to forget me that was really sweet of him. "Who knew my vamp-boy could be such a romantic." I said with a laugh.

Pitch spun around. "Genevieve?" He looked right through me though I was just steps in front of him. "You're here?"

"I'm here, Pitch. " I said ready to cry with joy. I didn't think you could cry with joy. I always thought it was one of those movie things that weren't real. "I love you."

"Genevieve!" I must have appeared before him. I got the hardest hug I've ever received. Followed by the most fierce kiss I'd ever gotten as well.
