Chapter 6: Oriel
Everyone awed as they looked at the town... more like city laid before them. "Woah." Everyone said in unison. Louise smiled and ran forward. "This place is amazing." Demetry brought out a tourist book. "It says that Lookon is most known for its myth on the … book of angels." Everyone looked at him. "Maybe we should stay here for a few days." Daniel suggested. "Maybe we can find out exactly what's in this 'Book of angels'." He finished. Louise nodded. "That sounds good. Where's the nearest hotel?" Aaron took out a map. "Oh. It's just down the street a bit." Louise jumped up. "Brilliant. Let's go." They walked in and up to the front desk. "6 rooms please." The woman looked at the computer. "Ooh. We only have one room left." Louise puckered her lower lip. "We can all survive in one room right?" Then she thought about Josh and turned around. "Are you sure there's not one more room?" She shook her head. "We have a barn in the back. "I'll take it." Josh offered. Louise widened her eyes. "Edward." He shook his head. "I'll be fine." Louise looked unsure but allowed him the privilege.
Josh slowly began to stand up, his face covered by a shadow. He began to pull the poles out of his chest one after another each hole instantly healing. "Louise" he said but his voice was demonic and unfamiliar. He began to grow scales and his back began to grow wings. His head was beginning to grow horns. He looked up he was now a full demon. A light enveloped Louise and she transformed back into an angel. "LOUISE" he shouted. He lunged at her and sliced her front half of her body then as Louise slowly fell he was already at Aiden and Demetery's body's he dug his sword in to their backs. Louise finally fell to the ground. Blood soaked her now white dress. Barely breathing as she looked up at Josh. He was already entering the doors of hell. "Josh... No you promised we'd all be together forever" she whispered. Josh didn't even turn he just held up his middle finger and walked threw the doors. Louise blacked out as the doors closed behind Josh.
"No!" Louise breathed as she sat up in bed. "Josh?" She looked around the room. The boys had insisted that she sleep in the bed whilst they all sleep on the floor. She looked down trying to calm herself down. "It's ok. He's here. He's here." She slowly found herself getting out of bed and putting on a light cardigan. She then opened the door to her room and walked down the hall. "He's ok. He's ok!" Eventually she found herself running towards the barn. "HE'S OK! HE'S OK!" She ran throughout the hotel until she came to the outside barn. She took in a deep breath and opened the door. "Josh?" She looked around but the place was empty. She fell to her knees. "No…no" Josh walked in to see Louise on her knees shaking. "No." He heard her whisper. "Louise?" She turned her head and looked at him. "Josh?" He nodded. Suddenly she jumped up and ran over to hug him. "Don't scare me like that!" He hugged her back, patting her head.
"So you had a nightmare?" Louise nodded. "About what?" She looked down. "When you left." Josh's mind suddenly went back to that time. He put his arm around her shoulders. "I'm sorry." He said. She shook her head. "It's ok. I'm just glad you're back." He smiled. "Welp. You should get back to bed. Long day tomorrow." Louise shook her head. "There's no point, i won't sleep." Louise looked at him. "What about you do you ever sleep? You know because you're a demon now?" Josh shook his head. "Nope." Louise looked at him surprised. "But... that's means you've been awake the whole time? Isn't that lonely?" He shook his head. "Just think of it as a guard dog." Louise bit the inside of her cheek. "Wait here." She got up and ran out of the barn. She ran back in a few minutes later with a pillow, blanket and a book. She put the makeshift bed next to where Josh was sitting and sat down crossed legged. "What's that?" Louise smiled. "It's a book about Oriel. Thought we might as well do something if we're not gonna sleep." Josh shrugged and took the book. "Ok then."
He opened the book to a random page. He then breathed in. "OK. Hmm. It says here that Oriel means French Female golden, angel of destiny. It was apparently named after the 'angel' when she died whilst saving the city from demons. It's said that she is the only one who ever knew the location of... The book of angels." Louise looked over his shoulder at the book. "So the maps wrong?" Josh thought for a minute. "Don't screw up!" His eyes widened. "The note... WAS from your mother and father but i think my father sent us a map." Louise tilted her head. "Your dad?" Josh looked down. "My father is Satan." Louise's eyes widened. "No.." Josh turned away from her. "I know. I apologise on behalf of him for everything he has down." He patted her head. "And I'M sorry for hurting you." Tears built up in the corners of her eyes. She then lunged forward and pressed her head to his chest. He continued to pat her head, until eventually she fell asleep. He lay her in her makeshift bed and sat beside her, guarding her.. "Just like a guard dog." He chuckled.
The next morning everyone gathered in the lobby. "So where did you run off too last night?" Aiden asked Lousie suspicous. Louise tilted her head trying to figure out what he meant. The she remembered waking up in the barn. "Eh? What am i doing here?" Josh dead panned. "Are you always this oblivious in the morning?" Louise turned to look at him and blushed slightly. "Were you watching me sleep?" Josh glared. "What else am i supposed to do? I am your guard dog you know." Louise facepalmed. "Whatever." She got up and patted his head. "Good doggy." He gritted his teeth and reached up to hit her hand away. "Why you-" But it was too late she had already gone back to her room. Louise glared at the memory. "Bathroom." Aiden smirked. "Must of been some experience if you were in there all night." Louise gave up and walked away causing Aiden to look at her suspiciously. Weird.
"Alright. First we will stop and get food, then we are going to see some sites!" Demetry called. Louise thought back to the book last night. I'm gonna need to tell the others what Josh and i discovered last night. What that you have a small penis? She heard in her head. Her eyes widened and looked at Josh. You can read my thoughts. He smirked. Pretty much yeah. Louise placed a hand on her forehead. Great. Aaron noticed the two and smirked. "You two need alone time?" He joked. Louise waved her hands. "No!" Josh just walked off. "Geez he's weird." Daniel walked up to them. "Come on we're heading out." They nodded and they all left the hotel.
They walked down the road and found a small cafe on the corner. "Ok." Demetry said as they sat down. "I have planned which sites we will see... We will go to... Then... Then... and finally the statue of Oriel." Louise and Josh spit out their drinks. "Give me the book." Josh said. Demetry handed it to him. "It says the statue is placed in the cemetery and is said to be the angels final resting place." Louise breathed in. "Last night. Edward and i were going through the book. It said that this Oriel woman was the last to know where the book of angels was left." Demetry placed his hand on his chin. "Fuck the rest after breakfast we're going to the statue." Everyone nodded and dug into their breakfasts having the occasionally chatter.
"Cemetery." Aiden read he turned to the others. "Yep this is it!" They all sweatdropped. Idoit. Idoit. They climbed over the gate since it was locked and made their way through the gravestones. "Am i the only one getting a weird feeling?" Louise asked. Daniel shook his head. "Not just you." Louise looked around and back tracked. "Hey guy's is that it?" She said pointing to a large white statue. They all made their way over. "Oriel, Angel of destiny." Aaron read the plague. "Yeah. This is it." Demetry placed a hand on his chin. "Well. We know where it is, we should come back later." He turned to walk away. "Wait. When do you mean later?!" Louise asked. Demetry turned back to her. "I mean under the cover of nightfall." Louise panicked. "We can't." Aiden walked up to them. "Why not?" She began sweating. "Er-" "Because i'm afraid of the dark." Josh stepped forward. "That's a lie you sissy?" Aiden glared. "I thought you two were friends now?" Louise asked. "I never said that. I trust him is all." Louise deadpanned.
As the three were arguing Aaron and Daniel watched on. Demetry began to examine the statue. He touched a part which had 5 small holes surrounding one the size of someone's thumb. "Hmm. guy's." He called. Louise looked at him. "What is it?" He pointed to the holes. "Look." Louise studied them then had an idea. She looked back and counted everyone. "I wonder. OI YOU LOT!" She shouted. The bickering couple shut up and everyone came to them. "Look. Give me your pendants." They all looked at eachother but obeyed. Louise put the pendants in the small holes. "Now what?" Aiden asked. "Louise. Try putting your thumb in the big one." Josh suggested. She nodded and did so. The 6 holes lit up and a trap door just underneath the statue opened up. They all looked down and saw stairs leading into the ground. Aiden looked at Josh. "After you..."
