Yo...

Well, we have arrived at another interesting chapter. Glad you guys liked the previous chapter, and honestly even I don't know how long will this story continue. My best guess would be a year...there is so much more to explore in this AU universe.

Among the Senju brothers, I think Tobirama has not been explained in much detail (at least for me). Recently the anime portrayed Hashirama so brilliantly, I'm hoping with this chapter I can give Tobirama some more character development. I think this would be one of the few rare fics where there will be a Tobirama V/S Danzo...

I think this chapter will show something different yet something similar at the same time...

Chapter 69

Battle of Konoha

The Blood Clone leader of Squad 2 slowly closed the eyes of the Blood Clone leader of Squad 3, as his comrade breathed his last before succumbing to the large wound in his chest, courtesy of a Root Anbu's sword.

He silently watched as another 17 shadow clones got destroyed, either due to exhaustion of their chakra or due to their wounds.

Their team had arrived to defend Konoha, and now there were just 15 of them left while the Root Anbu were twice in numbers than them.

He was surprised when a tall man dressed in blue armor with the mark of the Senju clan jumped in front of him, and an immense amount of power was radiating from this person.

After all he was the Nidaime Hokage of Konoha...

The veteran Kage just gave a small glance towards the tired clone squad, while also observing the 50 Root Anbu that lay dead at the gates of Konoha.

"Clones, you've done well...I'll take it from here. Don't interfere" commanded Tobirama, as the Blood Clone leader bowed before the Kage.

"As...you...command" answered the Blood Clone in a devoted voice,

Tobirama's eyes hardened as his gaze shifted towards the remaining root forces, and a lone old man that was standing a little far away from the enemy forces.

The Kage remained unfazed when the remaining 40 Root Anbu charged towards him with their deadly swords...ready to slice him to pieces.

He just made a single hand seal as dark clouds spread across the entire sky instantly hiding the bright sun behind them, as rain slowly started to fall on the ground.

The Blood Clone was mesmerized by the amount of control the Nidaime had over his element, and just eagerly observed as the man performed two hand seals.

Several Root Anbu fired couple of kunai towards Tobirama, while the rest of them jumped towards him...

"Suiton: Suidan no Jutsu(Water Release: Water Bullet Technique)"

"AHHHHHHHHHHH"

"KUSO!"

The Blood Clone was stunned when Tobirama decimated the entire enemy forces by raining hundreds of sharp water bullets over them, the force of these attacks was so hard that even the weapons fired towards Tobirama got destroyed.

All the Root Anbu got hit in various vital spots and started falling like flies as Tobirama just walked ahead uncaring of the few water bullets that were hitting him. His cold eyes only fixed on the one ninja standing away from him...

His opponent also walked towards him, the man was dressed in a black colored shinobi armor and pants. His shaggy black hair and wrinkled old skin combined with the scars on his face was enough to warrant the person as a veteran ninja.

Surprisingly, instead of attacking immediately he bowed before Tobirama...

"It's been a long time...Sensei" said Danzo respectfully, while his teacher just glared at him.

"Danzo, why?" asked Tobirama strictly, as his student looked him straight in the eye revealing the conviction which he had in his cause.

"It is my dream that Konoha shall rule over the entire world, in order to bring peace the true laws of shinobi must be implemented...and that is something which the current or the previous Hokage lacked. If they had not been too soft, Konoha wouldn't have had to go through the Fourth Great Ninja war..." explained Danzo honestly,

"So, you decided that you were the righteous one and rebelled against the village?" asked Tobirama bitterly,

"My loyalty has always been for Konoha. All my life I have fought, bled for this village. I've watched many of my friends die to protect it, but Hiruzen and Minato never cared about it. They let the other villages get away with the atrocities they performed on us, with the hope of creating peace. Something which they could never achieve..." answered Danzo truthfully,

"That still doesn't justify this pointless violence. I expected much more from you..." said Tobirama disappointedly, as a sad look appeared in Danzo's eyes only to be replaced with a stoic expression instantly.

"It is too late for accusations, Sensei. I have chosen my path, and I intend to follow it..." answered Danzo without any hesitation, and activated a sharingan in both of his eyes.

Tobirama just frowned when he saw what his student had done to himself, not to mention the cells of his brother which Danzo had placed inside his own body. One of Danzo's arms was completely made of Hashirama's cells. In that moment, Tobirama realized the person standing before him was not the impulsive, brash, talented boy which he had trained...

...all that was left was an extremist who was a danger to Konoha.

"Prepare to face the true death...Danzo" said Tobirama in a dangerous voice, as his entire body got covered in chakra.

The young Senju was further saddened when his talented student just gave a firm nod...

"There is no point in running away if you are my opponent. I am a shinobi and I will face my opponent without any fear or hesitation..." replied Danzo stoically,

"Glad to see you haven't forgotten the honor code of battle...my wayward student"

After the pleasantries were exchanged, Tobirama and Danzo just settled to watch each other and possibly study even the slightest change in behavior. Danzo was at a disadvantage in this fight. His teacher was an Edo tensei, which meant he had unlimited chakra and couldn't be killed, he had to seal the Hokage or he was dead.

Tobirama, however, knew Danzo's skills and quite possibly his weakness. The Senju took his time in order to avoid making the fatal mistake of attacking first. He knew that with Danzo possessing the sharingan, extreme caution was advised. The man's prowess in the illusion department was, simply to say, unknown. All of a sudden, Tobirama felt the unusual feeling inside his body and realized what was happening.

Quickly overcoming the minor genjutsu, Tobirama was surprised to see Danzo just mere inches in front of him, with a kunai near his jugular. Quickly evading the attack, Tobirama focused on avoiding eye contact so that Danzo couldn't read his movements. The Kage quickly blocked Danzo's punch with his right arm, before aiming a powerful upper knee to Danzo's stomach. Danzo, though, blocked with both hands, but Tobirama was not done and, seeing that Danzo's hands were occupied, managed to land a powerful punch to his student's face. The veteran warrior was surprised at the speed while taking his distance from Tobirama.

Summoning two windmill shuriken from within the tattoo on his wrists, Danzo threw them at Tobirama who at first only saw one. He soon managed to see the second one from the shadow on the ground. Bending his body, he was able to pass in between the shuriken. However, Danzo was capitalizing on that and simply pulled the strings attached to the shurikens, instantly trapping his teacher, who wasn't able to escape when the shuriken returned.

His body was sliced in two.

However, Danzo had his Sharingan activated just in time to see that the Kage had managed to escape by replacing his body with a tree log. Sensing heavy usage of chakra to his right, Danzo turned to see the Senju performing the last hand seal, before the wind around the two increased.

"Fuuton Kaze no Yaiba (Wind Release: Wind Sword Technique)"

Even though Danzo had his Sharingan active, it was tough to dodge the rapidly approaching technique. After all, Tobirama was his teacher and was the one who taught him ninjutsu. Besides being skilled in water style, Tobirama had great talent in manipulating wind...something which he taught to Danzo too.

Danzo managed to evade the technique, but he was surprised when a large number of shurikens flew at him, piercing every inch of his chest and arms. His look of surprise didn't faze Tobirama as he already suspected Danzoi's movement. Danzo was suddenly replaced with several leaves and Tobirama knew once more that he was trapped inside a genjutsu…only this time, it wasn't a minor illusion.

The problem with genjutsu was that in order to dispel it, the victim needed to overcome the invading chakra with his own. Danzo was aware of Tobirama's limitless chakra capacity, therefore he managed to add layers to the genjutsu. Tobirama managed to dispel the first layer, but he wasn't counting on the possibility of more than one layer of genjutsu, in the midst of the battlefield. Such a thing takes time and great focus to elaborate. Suddenly, Tobirama saw his legs getting caught in fire. He could feel his leg burning as Danzo was tampering with his mind. Not able to dispel the technique in time, the Kage did the next best thing to do in order to escape.

Grabbing a kunai, he sliced his arm a bit enough for a shallow cut. The illusion was immediately dispelled. Seeing this, Danzo quickly started a sequence of hand seals, before gathering as much air as he could inside his lungs.

"Katon Goukakyuu no Jutsu (Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique)"

"Futon: Shinkuha(Wind Release: Vacuum Wave)"

The giant fireball was further intensified when Danzo fired several sharp wind bullets through it...

The immense projectile caught Tobirama by surprise as he focused some chakra to his legs, before jumping high in the air. He could feel the deadly technique approaching fast. Focusing on a single hand seal and with a simple water manipulation, he managed to create a small water barrier in front of him, stopping Danzo's technique. Because of it, a great deal of white smoke was created between the two, allowing Tobirama to use the same trick on Danzo.

Quickly going through a sequence of hand seals, Tobirama started using his own genjutsu on the illusionist.

"Maken Nakaru Arashi (Demonic Illusion: Hell Storm Technique)"

It didn't take long for the smoke to clear, before Danzo was suddenly overwhelmed by torrential lightning that fell from the suddenly dark sky. Thinking it to be a ninjutsu, Danzo started performing a set of hand seals when he realized the secret of the technique. However, the shinobi realized too late that this technique wasn't a ninjutsu, but, much to his surprise, genjutsu. He dispelled Tobirama's storm, before widening his eyes at the horizontal hurricane that hit him dead on, sending him flying towards the bark of a tree.

"Fuuton Suidou no Tatsumaki (Wind Release: Tornado Tunnel Technique)"

The technique went all the way to the center of the tree carving a deep hole inside it's body. Danzo, though, managed to escape the impact by replacing himself with a small stone nearby. However, the man knew it was a close call. As he got up from his position, he looked at Tobirama from a distance and took his time a bit. The simple fact that Tobirama was able to perform illusions such as that so easily and instantly was impressive, but he had expected such a thing from the Nidaime Hokage, but deep down Danzo knew his teacher had still not unleashed his full power and he had to turn the tide of the battle in his favor quickly. He had mere seconds to think of a strategy as he was busy dealing with the great fireball technique which Tobirama used as smoke to his advantage and managed to cast a demonic illusion, without the Sharingan's awareness.

Instead of waiting for a response, Tobirama again focused a bit of water manipulation and caused a minor jet of water to charge at Danzo, thus taking his focus away from the real attack. Danzo, managed to dodge the jet of water, but not the sudden punch on his gut. The power behind the punch took a bit of air from Danzo's lungs, but he was able to move aside from the following kick to his face, thanks to his Sharingan. Doing a few back flips, while performing hidden hand seals, Danzo finished with the tiger seal just as Tobirama charged at him, which proved to be quite a mistake.

"Katon Karyuu Endan (Fire Release: Dragon Fire Missile Projectile Technique)"

Tobirama was surprised with the speed behind the jutsu and he cursed his lack of judgment in charging head on. The fire dragon practically opened his mouth to engulf him whole. The Kage had only one choice to get out of this situation and he wasn't going to think twice about it….

Danzo saw the attack engulfing his teacher entirely. After the attack was finished, Danzo could see, with some frustration that Tobirama was convulsing on top of the water. His body was slightly burned.

"Suiton Suiryuudan no Jutsu (Water Release: Water Dragon Projectile Technique)"

The sudden surge of chakra alerted Danzo, allowing him time to avoid the massive dragon technique. He jumped high enough to avoid it as he watched the dragon charge at the vast forest behind him. Danzo quickly landed on the ground, before he faced Tobirama once more. It was time to end this...

Tobirama sensed it immediately as he looked at Danzo's spinning sharingan, as the man tried to put him under a genjutsu. Suddenly, his opponent crossed their distance faster than Tobirama could even see, before Danzo landed a fierce kick on Tobirama's stomach, sending him flying. At the same time, Danzo unleashed several fireballs, sending torrents of burning fire in Tobirama's direction. The Senju, for his part, looked at the incoming attack and performed his own hand seals.

"Suiton Dai Suijinheki (Water Release: Great Water Barrier Technique)"

Danzo gritted his teeth in anger when his teacher once again destroyed his attack...

Suddenly, Tobirama flashed on top of a tree, looking at Danzo with apparent boredom, which kind of infuriated the Root Anbu leader. Focusing chakra to his legs, Danzo threw smoke bombs, in order to hide his path. As soon as the smoking bombs went off just inches from Tobirama's position, Danzo vanished from his position and reached towards the tree top. Immediately, he went behind Tobirama, but was surprised to see that the man hadn't moved from his position at all.

Something was off…

His eyes widened in shock as a wild torrent passed clean through him. And looking down he saw his body getting sliced in half as the Tobirama in front of him disappeared, and his teacher could be seen standing on another tree top.

"Hirashingiri (Flying Raijin Slice)"

But this time Tobirama was shocked when the Danzo he had killed disappeared as an illusion and another Danzo emerged on top of the small pond that was formed on the ground.

"Izanagi"

"So, you've fallen this far..." said Tobirama furiously, as one of Danzo's sharingan vanished.

"A ninja must utilize every weapon he has...you taught me that" answered Danzo proudly, as Tobirama unleashed his entire power and jumped towards Danzo.

"I taught you to fight as a ninja by utilizing your own strength...not stealing power like a low life thief!" yelled Tobirama angrily, and pointed his sword in Danzo's direction.

"SENSEI!"

"DANZO!"

SLASH

Danzo coughed violently when a hidden Tobirama clone emerged from the water pond and pierced his sword through Danzo's heart, while the original Tobirama stabbed his sword in the remaining sharingan preventing the Root commander from casting Izanagi again.

"AHHHHHHHHH"

Tobirama silently observed as his student started fumbling in his steps, blood was leaking like a river from his chest and eyes. He tightly gripped his sword and flashed in front of Danzo

SLASH

A swift attack from his sword instantly cut off Danzo's legs, but before the man could even fall down on the ground Tobirama flipped in the air and sliced off both of his student's arms...

The remaining body of his student collapsed on the ground like a lump of meat, as the man continued to scream in pain...

"You're finished...Danzo" declared Tobirama, and pierced his sword clean through his student's skull.

The Senju didn't stop there as he passed a large amount of electric current through his sword...

SPLASH

Danzo's entire body exploded into flesh and blood drenching Tobirama completely, as the attack totally destroyed his student's body wiping him out from the face of the earth.

As rain slowly started to fall from the sky, Tobirama motionlessly stood in the same position...his eyes still fixed on the spot where he had killed his own student. The water from the rain slowly started to clean the blood on his armor...

...as a lone tear slipped from his eyes.

(With Hashirama)

Several members of the Hyuga clan could be seen lying flat on the ground, while many of their comrades were entangled in wooden branches. Their clan leader Hiashi could only bitterly observe the powerful shinobi that had defeated his entire clan as if they were mere children.

He still couldn't understand how Hashirama and his brother were here, or even alive...

The clan leader saw Tobirama appearing beside Hashirama, along with one of the special ops Blacklight captain that had defeated the Root Anbu.

Hashirama casted a sympathetic glance towards his stoic younger brother, as he knew what must have happened...

"Tobi, are you okay?" asked Hashirama in a concerned voice, as the Blood Clone too listened to the conversation.

"I just killed one of my most talented and best students. It does not give me peace, but it does give closure to the uprising against Konoha..." said Tobirama flatly, but only Hashirama could understand the pain that his brother was trying to hide.

"Tobi..."

"Brother, I don't want to talk about it..." requested Tobirama politely, but even the blood clone of Naruto could feel the pain in Tobirama's voice while Hashirama just gave a silent nod.

"The Hyuga seem awfully quiet..." commented the Blood clone, in an effort to change the topic as Tobirama gave him a small thankful smile.

"They are not listening to anything I say, and are just asking me to kill them. I've tried everything, son" answered Hashirama honestly, as some of the Uchiha and Namikaze clan members stepped forward with their swords.

"That can be arranged, Shodaime-sama"

"This is our chance to end these traitors!"

The Senju brothers as well as the Konoha ninja were shocked when the Blood Clone leaked a massive amount of KI freezing the Uchiha and Namikaze clan members in their spot.

"You will not touch them!" warned the Blood Clone,

The two clan members were shocked when the Blood Clone removed his mask revealing himself to be Naruto Namikaze, as even Hiashi and the Hyuga were stunned with this revelation.

"Namikaze Naruto..." said Hiashi in shock, as the boy just walked towards him.

The Senju brothers could feel a wave of nostalgia as their heir kneeled beside a defeated clan leader, who was willing to die.

"Just kill me, Namikaze. It will be a fitting end for me and my clan..." said Hiashi proudly, as a tired sigh escaped from Naruto's lips.

"Don't be a fool, Hiashi-sama. If I kill the clan leader, the young shinobi of your clan will get even more angry and suicidal..." advised Naruto patiently, as Hiashi just scoffed.

"There is no one strong enough to defeat you or your comrades..." answered Hiashi honestly, as Naruto just closed his eyes.

"Perhaps not now, but in the future there will be. Besides, I don't want to harm your clan...all of you are a part of our village" suggested Naruto,

"We are your enemy, boy. The Hyuga have fought against this battle as proud shinobi...now let us die with honor" requested Hiashi seriously, as Naruto just shook his head.

"That's not the way I want to remember the Hyuga. Your clan has been a part of this village since the beginning, you have contributed as much to this village as any other clan. We are part of a family, and if there is a dispute within a family...you don't kill your loved ones, end this battle and let us discuss our problems while trying to find a solution" explained Naruto,

"Why are you trying so hard to save Hyuga? You are after all Minato's son..." questioned Hiashi curiously,

"A Hyuga saved my life in this war. She didn't care if I was the son of Minato Namikaze, or her commander...for her I was a comrade, and she sacrificed herself to save mine. She was a true Hyuga of Konoha..." announced Naruto proudly, and Tobirama was surprised when some hope arose in the eyes of some young Hyuga.

"Who was she?" asked a young Hyuga girl, who looked almost like Hiashi

"Himari Hyuga..."

Every member of the Hyuga clan was stunned with this revelation, but the one who was shocked the most was none other than Hiashi Hyuga.

"My...wife? My Himari?" asked Hiashi eagerly, and was deeply touched when Naruto gave an acknowledging nod.

"She was a fine ninja who fought fiercely for this village, Himari-sama believed that the future of the Hyuga was with Konoha. Everyone of you have faithfully served this village all your life, if some conflict has arised then we will resolve it with negotiations. I won't let innocent Hyuga children be killed even if you want to..." declared Naruto with determination, as some of the Hyuga looked at their children who were lying unconscious on the ground.

Naruto kneeled beside Hiashi and put a firm hand on his shoulder...

"I promise you, I will solve whatever conflict/grief the Hyuga have with the village. My father will listen to you too...all I'm asking is for you to take my hand of friendship" said Naruto patiently, and extended his hand to Hiashi.

"I..." said Hiashi hesitantly, the clan head just didn't know what to do anymore but looking in the eyes of his people gave him the answer.

"Let's end this pointless war, and together build a village where Hyuga children can flourish with our people..." requested Naruto in a polite respectful voice,

"What do you gain from all of this?" asked Hiashi curiously, as Naruto just smiled.

"A strong Konoha is necessary for the survival of our people, and if this village continues to survive I can watch over my little brother and protect him...and the same goes for you and your children" explained Naruto honestly,

Tobirama sighed in relief when the Hyuga clan head shook Naruto's hand signifying his surrender, but he was intrigued when he spotted his older brother looking at the Blood Clone of Naruto with a small tear in his eye...

"Brother?" questioned Tobirama,

"He reminds me of Madara..." said Hashirama happily, as Tobirama just looked at his grandson's clone as the boy started helping the injured Hyuga.

"But he also has your heart and has inherited your will of fire...brother" answered Tobirama honestly, making Hashirama smile.

"And he has your mind too..." said Hashirama proudly, as Tobirama just looked at the vast sky.

"The more things change...the more they stay the same''

(Baku's Castle)

Naruto stealthily teleported in the inner complex of Baku's castle, and his Mangekyo quickly activated as several Blacklight members surrounded him from all sides.

The young Namikaze unsheathed his sword, and an excited grin came on his face as he glared at his Blacklight comrades of 3rd company...

"Let's dance!

Author's Notes: End of chapter.

So, half of the rebellion has been defeated. Now, you see how the death of Hinata's mom at Miyasato island impacted this story. Many of you had said I was too cruel for killing her off in 1 chapter, but her death saved the life of her entire clan including her daughters...and will have some more effects too.

Even in Cannon it is shown that Danzo respects Tobirama immensely, and I tried to portray his character in a different way than most of the fics do on this site, while also keeping his core beliefs intact. And even if he wanted to run, he couldn't run...as Tobirama would have raped his ass with Hirashin, which he actually did too XD!

This chapter was primarily focused on Tobirama, and the conflict he must have felt in his heart when he had to kill his own student. It also showed how Naruto is so similar to them as well as Madara.
