OKAY GUYS I HAVEN'T UPDATED THIS STORY IN FOREVER! Let me just update you a little bit on my life.

I just started high school in September! :D

I just got back from a cruise that went to Key West and Cozumel!

My birthday was November 13th, so I'm 14 now!

I SAW CATCHING FIRE FOR THE FIRST TIME LAST NIGHT! AHHHH SO MANY EVERLARK KISSES! It was too perfect. Honestly.

Anyway, I made this chapter DOUBLE the length, and DOUBLE the Everlark fluff. HOPE YOU LOVE IT!

Chapter 6: A Day in the Capitol

Katniss' POV

Peeta and I stand there and wave at the Capitol people who are throwing us flowers and shouting our names. It feels so weird to be back here again, and this time not being threatened to be killed. The Capitol really does look no different. This time though, they actually bothered to rope off the area giving room for Peeta and me to walk. I search the crowd of colorful heads for the Capitol person I want to see most. Effie Trinket. Instead of seeing her in the crowd, I see her start to walk up the roped off area smiling at Peeta and I. I smile back at her, watching her walk to us. She looks so different. Her skin is no longer dyed a different color, and she doesn't wear a wig anymore. Her hair is now a light brown color, and cut right below her shoulders. Aside from her tall neon high heels, and massive amount of jewelry she has on, she almost looks normal.

"Katniss! Peeta!" She yells over the sound of the crowd.

She never really did lose her Capitol accent. She pulls us in for a long hug. Peeta and I hug her with our free arms, but still continue to hold hands.

"There's a car waiting for us at the end of these ropes, let's get out of this crowd!" Effie says with her usual pep.

The conductor drags all of our luggage to the car, and all 5 of us get in. This isn't just any car, this is a limo. I remember this kind of car from when Peeta and I when to Snow's mansion. All of us fit in the back seats, which face each other. I introduce Madge and Delly to Effie, and they all shake hands. The ride to our hotel is a short one. This hotel is nothing like the one we've had before, thank God. This hotel is more "simple." A man takes our luggage up to our rooms, while Effie checks us in.

"This place is… Amazing." Madge says.

"More than anything I could have ever imagined." Delly says with a short laugh.

Effie walks over to us with two keys in her hand.

"Katniss and Peeta, you'll be in room 914. Madge and Delly, you'll be in room 915 next to theirs." Effie says handing us keys. "Now, you have most of the day here in the Capitol. It is only 10. Just be sure to be back here by 6 o'clock on the dot to get ready. Katniss and Peeta, your prep teams will be waiting here for you. A car will pick you up at 7:30 for the interviews that start at 8. Do have a fun time now, I'll see you all at the interviews!"

"Thank you so much for all you've done Effie, you truly do keep us in order." Peeta says and hugs her.

Peeta always knows just what to say to make basically anyone smile or laugh. Effie walks out the door in those towering heels, and drives off in the limo. The 4 of us all get in the huge glass elevators, and press the button that says "9" on it.

"Isn't Effie just the nicest?" Delly says.

"When she's not knocking loud on your door saying it's a 'big, big, big, day!'" Peeta says jokingly.

Everyone laughs as we get off the elevator, and we look down the long hallways for our rooms. We see a sign that leads us in the right direction, and we make it to our rooms. Madge and Delly open their door right away, and are shocked by the beauty of their hotel room. They shut the door behind them, but we can still hear them gossiping about the elegance of it all. Peeta smirks as he puts the key in our room.

"What did you do?" I ask him.

Peeta sweeps me off my feet and kicks the door open. Inside I'm amazed by what I see. A huge king sized bed, a glowing fireplace and an enormous balcony complete the spacious room. Carts of deserts I've never even seen before are placed all over, along with plush couches and chairs.

"Oh nothing really…" Peeta says. "Just told Effie to get us the Honeymoon suite."

"Were not even married yet." I say with a laugh.

"But you Katniss… You deserve the best." Peeta says and puts me down on one the chair.

I deserve anything but the best. If anyone, Peeta deserves the best. No matter how hard I try, I will never deserve him. But yet he's all mine. I'm all his. We own each other. The thought just makes me smile endlessly. How we'll be with each other… Endlessly.

"You do that a lot you know." Peeta says.

"Do what?" I ask.

"Smile for no reason." Peeta says.

"Oh there's always a reason. The reason is always in some way connected to you. I was just thinking about how… We'll love each other forever." I say.

It's just so much to take in sometimes. Next month Peeta and I are getting married. And then after that, what happens? Do we just live "happily ever after?" It's something I want so bad to happen, and living with Peeta it just might. The feeling makes me so happy it's a mixture of me wanting to kiss Peeta until I suffocate from running out of breath to do it, with the feeling of so much excitement I want to scream. Apparently the feeling is mutual, because Peeta sits down on my lap facing me, pinning me against the back of the chair. He brings his head closer to mine and repeats the line he's said before, except now I truly understand what he means.

"You have no idea… The effect you can have on me."

With that, he leans his head in closer to mine and kisses me. He tries to pull his head away from me, but I wrap my hands around his back and shove him in closer. He smirks and raises one eyebrow. We continue taking up the whole chair, kissing the whole time. I push him off me and he lands on the floor, where I crawl on top of him and kiss him more. Time seems to slow down as we kiss, and I love it. I never want to stop kissing this boy, and I never will really have to. Each kiss brings a fire inside me that seems untamable. With each time I kiss Peeta, the more I want to do it again. He flips us over so he's on top, where he continues to make out with me. We only stop to take short breaths, or when we just want to look into each other's eyes. Peeta pulls me in for a nice long kiss, and in the middle of it I hear a knock on the door. Peeta sighs and gets up to answer the door. I don't even bother to get up. Right now I'm speechless. Breathless. Peeta and I of course have kissed a lot before, but nothing ever like that. I hear that it's Madge and Delly at the door.

"Woah… What's wrong with Katniss?" Madge asks.

I lift my head up a little bit and see Peeta's face turn a deep red and he looks over at me.

"Well uhh… She uhh…" He stutters.

I quickly get up and walk over to the door to help him out.

"Nothing, nothing's wrong. I was just… taking a nap." I say.

"On the floor?" Delly asks laughing and raising her eyebrows.

"And how did you manage to get your hair in a mess like that?" Madge asks joining in with Delly's laugh.

My… My hair? My hand goes to the back of my head and I see that my braid was taken out, and my hair is really messy. Peeta must have taken it out without me knowing. I can feel my face change color.

"And look at that dress!" Madge says laughing a little bit harder.

Sure enough, some of the bows on it are loose, and the collar on it flips up in weird ways. I look back at the floor where we just were. We must have been kissing a lot, because I don't even remember this stuff happening. Only Peeta can make me forget something that happened just moments ago. I don't even know what to say.

"Maybe Peeta had something to do with this." Delly says and punches Peeta softly in the arm.

"Yeah, his hair is pretty messed up too!" Madge says giggling and roughly rubs Peeta's head. "Look, a lot of these buttons are even unbuttoned on his shirt!"

Both of our faces go dark red as we try to fix our hair and clothes all at the same time. This has been so embarrassing for us. No one's ever really walked in when we we've been kissing I guess. I can't think of what else to say, I really just want Madge and Delly gone right now.

"Uhh I'll be ready to leave in 20 minutes bye!" I say nervously and shut the door.

I turn to Peeta and his face is still red as a tomato.

"Katniss… I didn't even realize I was… You know. I mean I took your braid out and messed up your dress." Peeta says embarrassed.

"I didn't realize it either. I also didn't realize that I unbuttoned your shirt and messed up your hair like that." I say to him my face still feeling hot.

So the feeling is same for both of us. We were so involved with each other, we didn't even have control over what we were doing. We stare at each other for a long while just looking at what we've done. It's just so weird how he can control me like. Take me over. Usually I'm fully aware of what's happening at all times.

"We really need to be more careful. What if we went too far without even knowing?" Peeta says seriously.

I can't help but burst out laughing. There's no way that could ever happen without me knowing. I would be completely aware of that.

"Katniss I'm serious. I mean if that's what losing control feels like… Anything is possible." Peeta says.

I laugh at him again, but then hold his face and embrace him.

"Look Peeta, even if that did happen it wouldn't matter. Because it's with you. So stop worrying okay? We need to get ready." I say and give him a quick kiss.

I walk into the bathroom and brush my hair out, and then put it back in its signature braid. I untie all the bows on my simple blue dress, and retie them again so they look like they were never messed up. I fix my collar and walk out of the bathroom to Peeta messing with the buttons on his shirt.

"Can you…?" He starts.

I walk over and re-button all the tiny buttons on Peeta's clean white shirt. I kiss him one more time and then take his hand.

"Today is actually going to be fun." I say.

"Any day is fun with you." Peeta says with a smile.

It's weird how I can take these compliments Peeta gives me now. Just a couple years ago I would've hated him for saying something like that, because I wouldn't know how to react. We walk out the door and there's Delly and Madge already waiting for us.

"You guys ready to go?" I say plainly, pretending the conversation we had earlier doesn't exist.

"Yeah let's go lovergirl and loverboy." Delly says with a giggle.

I roll my eyes and pick up the pace so they're behind us a little a bit. I really don't want to bring up the conversation we had earlier, even though they probably will at some point.

When we pull into town, it is absolutely breathtaking. Stores on each side of the street. Towering buildings higher than anything I've ever seen. Flowing fountains, colorful people, busy sidewalks. Everything just seems so happy and beautiful here. Peeta and I get out of the taxi, and within 10 seconds people are already recognizing us. People crowd us shouting questions and screaming our names.

"Maybe we should've dyed our skin and wore wigs to fit in more." Peeta whispers to me.

I just giggle and start waving at the crowd. It's kind of nice for people to like us this much, but also kind of annoying. How will we ever get out of here?

"People, people!" Peeta shouts above everyone. "Please let Katniss and I have a peaceful day here. All of your questions and more will be answered at the interviews tonight. I promise!"

This just drives the crowd crazier than they already were. Shouting more questions, and shouting at us to kiss. I grab Peeta by the collar of his shirt and kiss him for a long time. He looks surprised afterwards, he knows I wouldn't normally kiss him like that in front of people. The crowd claps and cheers, but then eventually creates a path for us to walk through. I take Peeta's hand and we make our way through the Capitol citizens, waving at blowing kisses at them. Delly and Madge follow close behind us trying not to get caught up with all the people. All of us walk down the sidewalk briskly trying not to get noticed. When we do, we just smile, wave, and walk faster. I finally find a store called "Wedding Memories" and pull everyone into it. The store is full of young couples looking at rings and other fancy jewelry. I really hope they just have something simple I can get here. I walk up to one of the workers. A flicker of recognition comes over the man's face.

"Katniss and Peeta!" He almost shouts. "Here in my store!"

Everyone in the store looks at us and gasps in surprise. Peeta shakes his head.

"You just really had to shout that didn't you?" Peeta says with a short laugh and a sigh.

The man's face turns red and he sees everyone looking at us now.

"I-I'm terribly sorry." He says with his Capitol accent. "Everyone please clear out of the store. We are closed!"

This enrages some of the Capitol people, while others just smile and head for the door. Many get out little cameras and start snapping pictures of Peeta and me. We just smile at cameras, wave at them, even blow them kisses. It's kind of funny how these people admire us so much. After everyone but us four and the workers are out of the store, the man comes back to us.

"Why do I have the pleasure of being with you all today?" The man says.

"I need to pick Peeta out a wedding ring." I say.

The man smiles and nods in agreement, seeing Peeta's left ring finger is empty. He brings up a tray of very fancy looking, hideous rings. He rambles on about the quality of them all and puts some of the rings on Peeta. Peeta smiles politely, but I know he hates all of the rings too.

"Do you have anything more… Simple?" I ask.

The man gets a confused look and puts all of his rings away. Capitol people don't really get the definition of simple, or why anyone would want it. The man walks away and goes in a room in the back. He comes back with a tray of plain gold and silver rings.

"These are the rings we use before we… Fancy them up." The man says and sets them on the counter in front of us.

The rings are beautiful. So simple, yet so beautiful. I look at my ring. A simple silver ring with the pearl of course, and two small diamonds on each side of it. I compare it to the rings in the tray. I really want one as simple and as beautiful as mine. I pick up a plain silver one, with absolutely nothing on it. I put it on Peeta's finger, and I can tell both us have fallen in love with it.

"It's perfect." We say simultaneously.

"Woah, you guys must really be in love!" Madge says.

"You just said the same thing at the same time! Awe, how cute." Delly says with a laugh and lightly punches Peeta's arm.

"I'll take this one." I say handing the man the ring.

He looks so confused. I bet no one has ever wanted this kind of ring from him. All the other workers even look shocked. I almost forgot, I want Peeta's ring engraved too. I lean in real close to the man's ear.

"Oh, and I want you to engrave "Stay with me" on the inside of it." I whisper.

"Right away, Ms. Everdeen." He says and heads off to the back room.

I pay one of the other workers, and we all wait there for the room. Delly and Madge smirk at us. Oh my god. I know what this is about. Peeta senses it too, so quickly changes the subject before it even starts.

"The Capitol people sure are crazy with all their cameras aren't they?" Peeta says.

"You know what's crazier?" Delly asks rhetorically. "How crazy yours and Katniss' hair were before we left the hotel."

Not this. They're just going to keep bringing this up all day. Peeta's face gets really red again.

"Peeta and I were making out on the floor. Okay? There. You caught us." I say suddenly and cross my arms.

Peeta looks shocked at my confession, but relieved. Madge and Delly start cracking up, as if I were a comedian or something.

"We knew all along!" Madge says.

"You should've seen how red your faces were!" Delly says.

"Oh grow up." Peeta says and rolls his eyes at Delly.

The man brings the ring out to me in a small white box, wrapped with an elegant black bow around it. I take Peeta's hand and lead him out of the store where another crowd is waiting. Peeta and I smile for the cameras some more, but then we push on through the crowd. Next stop… Dresses. Peeta looks frantically around the town for something. Maybe some bakery he's heard about.

"Close your eyes Katniss." He says calmly and stops looking around.

I close my eyes and he takes both of my hands now. He leads me across a street, down a few sidewalks and we stop somewhere. I can hear Delly and Madge gasp, and then squeal with delight. They're just so girly sometimes.

"Okay…" Peeta says. "Open."

I open my eyes, and right in front of me I see a store that brings tears to my eyes. Seeing both the names so clearly and beautifully displayed on the sign makes me cry and hold on to Peeta. "Cinna & Portia" the store is called.

"Effie told me they started a store before… You know… It happened." Peeta says and hugs me tighter.

Peeta and I walk in basically holding each other as tight as we can. Inside the store, one arrow points left saying "Cinna" and one arrow points right seeing "Portia." In the back left corner of the store, there's a sign that says "The Katniss Collection." In the back right corner of the store, there's a sign that says "The Peeta Collection." In Peeta and I's "Collections" there's glass cases showing off the real outfits we wore. To the parades, the interviews, the tour, even the ball at Snow's mansion. Then, they have racks of replicas of all different sizes of our clothes. There's people standing everywhere wearing our clothes. It's kind of weird, but I sort of like it. Girls are even trying on my signature fire wedding dress. The whole rest of the store is just filled with random clothes that Cinna and Portia designed themselves. Everyone looks at Peeta and I, and then runs up to us with questions and cameras. To my surprise, I hear a microphone come over the store with a Capitol voice I can actually identify. I can't believe it.

"Customers! For security reasons please leave the store right away! We will be closed until further notice!" She says in a peppy tone.

Once again, disappointed and angry Capitol people begin to file out of the store, taking pictures of us along the way. Delly and Madge run over to my outfits, amazed at seeing them in person. After everyone's all gone, Octavia, Venia and Flavius run up to Peeta and me and give us a huge hug. They begin to gossip how long it's been since we've seen each other and about how much everything's changed. Peeta and I just smile and nod to everything they say, it's just so much to take in at once.

"It's just really a shame Peeta's prep team, Cinna and Portia couldn't be here to see the store like this. After the rebellion the clothes have just been flying off the racks!" Venia says with a squeal.

"Such a shame…" Flavius says.

"Anyway, what are you and your friends doing here anyway? I know you're all here for the interviews, but why in the store specifically?" Octavia asks.

Peeta and I look at each other with that loving look we've been giving lately. I take his hand. It just sounds so overwhelming for him say it.

"Katniss and I are getting married." Peeta says.

My prep team squeals and claps their hands.

"I knew the love was real!" Flavius shouts.

"Finally getting married… For real!" Octavia screams.

Venia rambles on and on about how she knew we loved each other all along, and how she always hoped we'd get married. Then she takes my hand and shows me into a room called "Wedding Dresses by Cinna." Peeta tries to follow me in, but Flavius stops him right there.

"Oh no, you can't go in there Peeta! Don't you know the rule? The groom isn't allowed to see the brides dress until the wedding!" Flavius says.

Peeta sighs and walks over to his collection to see his past outfits. Madge and Delly follow the rest of my prep team in. Some of these dresses I recognize, the ones the Capitol didn't vote on for me to have.

"They're all so beautiful." Madge says.

Suddenly I see tears come to Octavia's eyes when she holds up a dress to me. It's so simple and beautiful. It's just a plain, white, strapless dress that gathers at the waist. No sparkles or flowers. No jewels or designs. Just simple, and beautiful. She hands me a card that just says "Katniss" on it. I open it up and it reads:

Katniss,

This wedding dress I made for you, knowing how much you love the simple look. I really hope you like it, the man that gets to see you in it is a very lucky one. Have a nice wedding day.

-Cinna

I hold back the tears in my eyes, and just hug my prep team again. I go in the dressing room, and try it on. It fits me perfectly. I can honestly say that right now, I look beautiful. I walk out of the dressing room, and I hear gasps from everyone.

"Oh Katniss…" Madge says.

"You look… So beautiful." Delly says in awe.

My prep team just gossips on and on about how beautiful I look, and how Cinna made this dress just for me. I change back into my regular clothes, and walk out with elegant dress in my hands. I tell my prep team for them to ship it to me, and then Madge and Delly drag me towards some other dresses. They lead me to some dresses called "The Short and Strapless by Portia." They pick up two forest green ones, and hold them in front of themselves.

"How do we look?" Madge asks with a giggle.

"Stunning." Peeta says jokingly walking up to us.

Peeta and I buy the bridesmaids dresses, and all of us take a cab ride back to the hotel. I walk into our room and collapse on the bed. Today has been exhausting, and it's not even close to being over yet. Peeta comes and lays down next to me, and turns facing me.

"Today's being crazy with all of the cameras and stuff." He says.

"It's really nice to finally be alone." I say to him.

I pull his head closer to mine for a nice, long kiss. He gets on top of me again, kissing me the whole time. I try to pay attention to what he's doing this time, but it's just so hard to stay focused. I lose myself in kissing him, and the fiery feeling comes back to me. With each kiss, the fire burns hotter, and hotter, until it feels like my insides are being burnt to a crisp. And I love it. I try to pull him closer, and closer to me, but how much closer can we get? This time we never stop kissing for breaks, we only stop for short gasps for air. I love Peeta Mellark. I love the feeling that I will be Mrs. Mellark. I love everything and everything about him right now. We hear a knock on the door again. Peeta hesitates at first.

"Just ignore it." He concludes.

I laugh, and I pull the covers over our heads where he continues to passionately kiss me. I don't care how long we kiss for, I just know that I am his, he's has me for as long as wants.

Sooooooooooo much Everlark fluff. Hope you liked this one a lot! I sure like writing it! Alright as usual, 5 reviews for the next chapter! Also, check out my poll!
