A/N: The final clash draws near. Especially the one you've all been waiting for...yes, that's right, MEGATRON VERSES GRIMLOCK! But until then, enjoy this new chapter, readers and reviewers alike.
Not once had I imagined meeting a bunch of alien robot dinosaurs. By extension, neither had I thought of meeting either Autobots or Decepticons, or being captured by the Decepticons. This, however, took the cake.
"So, let me get this straight. You want me, a delicate little human, to be with you in your fight against the Decepticons? How will that work? At all?"
"Yep!" I loved the Dinobots, but sometimes... they didn't quite get that humans were more delicate than mechs were. Ok, all of the time. "Did you not just hear me?" "I have little doubt that they did not hear you, human." I glared at the blue and white mech. "Be quiet, Mirage."
It hadn't taken long for me to realize I didn't like Mirage very much. He acted so... superior, grr. I could handle him treating me like trash, since I was only a weak fleshling after all. Treating the Dinobots like that? No way. Not in a million years.
"Yes, what problem?" "Um, exactly how will you protect me from the Decepticons?" The Dinobots just stared at me for a few moments. And then burst out laughing. Every. Single. One. Of. Them. "Bwahahaha!"
Mirage stood there, rolling his optics (I think that was what he was doing?). At last, the laughter wound down. Snarl, surprisingly, was the one to actually answer my question. "Autobot think we stupid. But us Dinobots do have space." "Have space?" Swoop decided to answer that in more physical way. Standing in his mech mode, a front panel popped open. "Here Kendra can stay!" I examined him carefully. The panel opened to a small space, big enough for me at least sit in it safely. "You guys all have these, right?" At the nods, I continued. "Then I'll pick who'll I'll go with first, got it?"
That announcement sent the Dinobots crazy. Each one argued on me going with them. Even Snarl got involved. "Guys. Guys. GUYS!" They shut up, giving me their full attention. "Now, we need a plan. Is it fine if it's mine?" Mirage looked ready to argue, but a glare from Grimlock quelled that. "Good. Now here's what we'll do..."
"So, why are you here, Mirage?" I asked the air next to me. His voice came from the space far above me. "You ask a lot of questions, human." "I generally do that when I'm faced with situations like these. Why are you here?" A pause of silence, before he reluctantly answered. "I am here because I ordered to come here by Jazz." "Hm...Jazz...I'm assuming this Jazz character didn't want the Decepticons to get their hands on the Dinobots." "Correct."
I sighed. "That seems kinda sad, that's the only reason you or anyone else would ever show up." Mirage didn't say anything more, but I got the gist. Dinobots dangerous. Dinobots better on Autobot side than Decepticon side because destruction is bad when it's for Decepticons. Nothing about the actual Dinobots themselves, just numbers in an equation. I guess that was right, since they were robots, but that didn't seem very fair to the Dinobots.
Maybe I should really try to meet the other Autobots, to see how they treat the Dinobots. Then I can protect them! I was distracted by this makeshift plan in my mind, enough to accidentally run into something. "What?" Or someone. "It's the human!" Make that two someones. I bounced back off the hard metal, onto the ground. The culprits were a pair of twins, red and blue. Oh no! Frenzy and Rumble!
"Um, hi?" I scooted back on my butt away from the two Decepticons. "Good thing we found you, squishy..." Frenzy loomed over me, a sneer on his face. "...Because Megatron will be happy to see you in HQ!" Rumble finished, smirking from behind his red twin. Shoot.
"Ok," I started, "That's nice of you say so. But you two need to listen to me right now." Frenzy cocked his head. "Listen to you? Why would we do that?" "Especially since it's gonna be like 'let me go, let me go'." Rumble stepped forward next to Frenzy to get into my face. "Listen to me, as in, you two should leave. Right away. As fast as you can." "Why?" "Cuz you guys were half-decent to me, even if it was only because of orders!" I burst out. "Because I really don't want to be guilty of you getting smashed flat by Dinobots."
"Really? I don't see that happening, cuz that ain't no Dinobots to save you here." Frenzy grabbed my arm, servo digging deep enough to bruise. I cried out, kicking at his shins. Frenzy's sneer grew even bigger. "No one's here to rescue you this time." "Slag! I need you now!"
The hallway rumbled. Both of the twins froze. The only movements they made were to present themselves as less of a threat, Frenzy even going so far to let go of my arm and back up, hands waving in the air. Too late. Slag came in, a living train wreck.
The twins flew like bowling pins. One would think that would be enough to knock 'em out, but they were stubborn enough to stay awake. Rumble slid down against the wall, while Frenzy wobbled drunkenly. A certain Triceratops eyed the two, almost thoughtfully.
I knew what he wanted. "Uh, Slag? I think they've had enough now." "Cons never enough," Slag grumbled, but he did stop looking at the twins like fresh meat and instead looked at me. Bad mistake on my part. His optics widened and then narrowed. I knew what he had seen. The bruises from Frenzy...crap. He pawed the ground like a wild bull and came in for a second round. SMASH! The red and blue mechs didn't get up after that hit. They couldn't, not with force coming from Slag in that one.
I hurriedly ran over to the Decepticons. Kneeling, I checked for any serious injuries, Well, anything more serious than being smacked into a wall twice by a metal dinosaur. Since I wasn't a repairman (or woman) of any sort, I couldn't really tell, but they did seem fine. They certainly weren't scrap heaps like I'd expected. Did Slag...
"Slag, did you purposely not smash them to bits for me?" I asked. The Dinobot pawed the ground again, looking off to the side slightly. Was he...embarrassed? "Maybe." "Why?" "Hear what Kendra say. Cons still Cons, but...if Kendra no blame these Cons, only little hurt." I said nothing and just stared. He became a little defensive. "No tell Grimlock. Or others. Or Autobots." "Aw, Slag...thank you."
If a metal dinosaur could blush, he would have, I know it. And that reminded me... "Mirage, you say anything about this, I will make sure your butt ends up in a trash compacter, got that?" "Crystal." Mirage's disgruntled voice again came from nowhere. By the way Slag looked around, he hadn't expected Mirage to be here. "Mirage say nothing." "Fine, I will not tell. Not even Prime."
I smiled. "Now to the next part of the plan."
"This gonna be fun." Swoop said.
"Shh! No want Cons hear." Grimlock would have whacked his brother for further matter, but that would have meant making more noise. This part of the plan meant no noise. Now that Slag was with Kendra, they could relax and Sludge, along with Snarl, could leave.
Just him and Swoop 'sneaking' into Con HQ. Kendra explained that if Sludge and Snarl made a distraction, as well as Slag and Mirage in a different direction, it would draw out the Decepticons so they could send a rescue message without it be intercepted and destroyed.
Now it was up to them.
There was only so much smashing one could do without getting bored. Even for a Dinobot. Snarl could hardly wait for the Cons to get here, so he could finally have his battle.
Nothing like a fight to make Snarl happy...alongside one of his Dinobot brothers, this was sure to be a blast. Now all they needed to do was destroy until the Cons found 'em. Easy as pie...whatever that meant.
Mirage didn't understand the human Kendra at all.
A strange thing, to command the Dinobots' respect enough for the most violent of their ranks to hold back. To care about a human's safety. Who knew the Dinobots could do such a thing, in the first place?
Jazz would be interested to learn of this, to say nothing of the rest of High Command. This new variable in the human changed a lot of factors once taken for granted. Until then, he would stay invisible and assist in their escape. No one needed the Decepticons with Dinobots on their side.
It was a dark place, being inside of Slag. Weird too. I heard gears and other pieces reforming Slag from dinosaur to mech, nothing touching me as he did so. I was safe, quite possibly the safest I had ever been.
Closing my eyes, I heard a lot of things. Eventually, all of that focused on a single thumping noise. A heartbeat? I need to ask these guys what hearts are for them. Whatever it was, it calmed me down. Calmed me enough to starting almost falling asleep. This is what a baby robot must feel like... I thought hazily.
Despite the fact that Slag was fighting and moving all over the place (I felt all of his movements, even from this isolated chamber), I felt safe.
Slag fought harder than ever, knowing Kendra was close to his spark. Battle was a part of life, had been for a long time now for both Autobots and Decepticons because of the war. For a Dinobot...they had been sparked, formed for fighting from the very beginning.
If the war ever ended, who knew what they would do. The Dinobots fought in a way that warmed the energon inside of them, energized their sparks. Built for battle.
His sword cut and slice every Con that dared challenge him. Invincible. Flamethrower came in handy more than once. Now get that blu-
