Buffy didn't want to say anything but the more she listened to the prophecy the more she was worried about what her role in said prophecy was going to be. It really depended a lot on the interpretation of the prophecy. But if it was what she was thinking everyone could live in disappointment. There was no way in hell that she was going to be the tool of the PTB to do what she was thinking. Silence filled the hall as she considered what it could mean and if she was just interpreting the prophecy incorrectly.
"Troubled your thoughts are, Share them with us you will. Lighter your thoughts will be." Yoda stated drawing Buffy from her spiraling thoughts.
"Actually, I think I would like to be alone for a few minutes to really think about what you have told me. Then I will be glad to talk." Buffy stated.
Yoda considered her for a moment then nodded his head. Mace who would rather know what was disturbing her about such a prophecy sighed. "There is a chamber adjoining this room you can use to consider your thoughts."
Buffy walked into the adjoining room and closed the door.
"Her thoughts are very troubled. I wonder what she has seen in this prophecy that could be so bad that we have never considered." Mace Windu asked in general.
"Share a bond with her, you do, QuiGonn. Do you have any thoughts to add?"
"I can only sense turbulent thoughts and feelings from her at the moment, Master Yoda."
Within the room Buffy tuned out the voices of those in the other room and whispered a name.
"Whistler." She whispered urgently. "Did you send me here to kill these people because it is not gonna happen."
"Whoa slayer. Be calm and at peace. You are one smart cookie but, the thought you latched on is not one you need to be worried about." Whistler said.
Feeling reassured Buffy took a calming breath. "Good because like I said it's not gonna happen."
"It still might but, if it does, we won't look to you to do it. There is another chosen one. Think Slayer what do you know a lot about; that could really help these people to become balanced? What were you always telling your slayers?"
Buffy's brows furrowed as she considered. "I am always telling them that having attachments can be good or bad but it is about how you balance your calling and attachments that will truly define you. So you want me to help them balance their lives to their callings?"
"More along the lines of show them to get a life while still balancing their callings. You know what that means don't you. I said show, not tell, it is time for you to get a life outside of your calling too."
"I have always had a life outside of my calling!" Buffy huffed.
Whistler just looked at her. "No relationships since the Immortal."
"Well I have been really busy being the head of the council is demanding." Buffy defended herself.
"Well that problem is no longer a problem." Whistler pointed out.
"I am scared." She whispered. "With my track record; what if I fall in love and he is a sith or something."
"Time to take a chance. Remember what you told Willow all those years ago."
"Grab the fish." Buffy remembered with a smile.
"Life is admittedly not as short as you thought it was, but still it is time for you to seize the day."
(Sorry it has been so long but I am still alive and still loving reviews)
