I apologize deeply for the fact I have neglected this story for so long. I've been a bit busy dealing with my fellow officers and getting settled into classes. I hope to update more regularly from now on but I cannot promise much because I am entering comicon season. Thank you LouLou for pointing out my title error. I can't believe that I didn't change that first. I sucked quite a lot at this before I started revising it. I thank you all for reading this and I hope I meet your expectations.
Red tinged my vision once again, seeing Robin's limp body laying there. My fists clenched when Slade looked at the body like it was nothing. He looked up at me from where he stood, that stupid smirk forming on his lips. He started towards me, and almost as a second thought, kicked Robin's shoulder, casually stepping on his wrist. That was where I lost it. I charged at him and red completely tunneled my vision as rage took over. I swung at him, my fist crunching lightly when he caught it. My fist clenched in his, my vision went black and I watched almost from above. Rage didn't plan, he didn't use skills or tricks, he fought on instinct. He lunged forward once again, ramming his head, my head, into Slade's unprotected jaw. He recoiled from the blow, letting go of my fist. I could feel a slight ache in my head but thought nothing of it, focused on the battle my body was fighting without me. Rage stepped into his movement and gripping the edge of my cape, sliced across his cheek. Blood poured down Slade's cheek and he fell back, cupping his cheek. Narrowing his eyes at me, he continued backtracking towards the glow.
" you might be more of a problem than I thought, kid." catching rage off guard, Slade swung, cutting my cheek with his glove. "Use Robin's weapon," I turned as I heard the whisper, seeing a glimpse of glowing red eyes. I could see rage smirk and make a run for Robin, scooping up his staff. Dashing back in towards Slade, he swung, catching the edge of the mask and breaking knocking the remaining half off. All of a sudden, he swung back, his glove cutting open my temple. They fought like this, each getting more and more injured. I could slowly feel my body ache more and more, but the fight was drawing me in. Rage growled, my eye swollen shut, and charged at Slade, taking him by surprise. He tackled Slade, taking him with us to the open pit behind him. He struggled, but it was too late. Rage carried us over the edge, falling fast towards the lava. He let go of him, kicking away and making him fall faster. Suddenly, I was back in my own vision. Feeling the heat, I quickly grabbed my cape and teleported. I landed near Robin, and had to stomp out the flame from the corner of my cape. I kicked the half of the mask that was near the edge into the pit. I looked down into the pit one last time, the rage I felt ebbing away at the sight of the slowly melting mask. Trying to set Robin's arm back into place the best I could, I picked him up, teleporting us to the others.
I landed on my knees in front of them, Robin still in my arms.
" Dude! Are you okay? You and Robin just disappeared on us!" I looked up to see Beastboy rushing over to me, several others looking up at his exclamation.
"Please, just help him." Cyborg came over and took Robin from me. Looking him over, cyborg sighed.
" looks like you guys fought a battle of your own.. Robin's not gonna be happy that Slade got away again." he smiled at me and shrugged. I shook my head and Beastboy helped me stand.
" he didn't get away," the others turned to look at me in question, " he can't hurt anyone anymore.. he's dead."
