After the success of the pranks against Sam, Kensi and Eric were on a high but they were still very aware that one wrong move and they could be caught out so they decided to give it a bit of time before they moved on to the next person to prank.

This turned out to be a very wise decision indeed as they found out from Callen that Sam had been staking out Ops. Callen had found this out in a brief but painful nighttime encounter.

He had been sleeping on the sofa by their desks but had woken and couldn't get back to sleep and so he had decided to get up and walk about. Apparently, Sam had just decided to check the inside of the building in the hope of catching someone out. They had collided in the dark corridor and fought briefly before a light switch was found.

This short battle had resulted in the partners not talking for a week, Callen sporting a black eye and Sam a split lip, both being fairly evenly matched in fighting skills despite Sam's larger size. Deeks had given both of the so much grief for their amusing night escapades that they had eventually put aside their anger with each other to unite against Deeks, who had ended up with many bruises after being teased into sparring with both partners in the gym.

They had said something to him about being weaker than Kensi and Deeks just had to prove himself but failed miserably. Kensi had even joined in on the fun and sparred with Deeks, wiping the floor of him with a smirk on her face before waltzing off to take a shower, having worked out before sparring.

The night encounter incident, as it became known, seemed to put Sam off of his patrols and Callen of sleeping in Ops for a while, so Kensi and Eric decided to take advantage of the peace and quiet while they could to get their next victim well and truly.

It had taken absolutely ages to set up but it had been so worth it in the end and after a long, hard nights work, Kensi left for home to get some sleep before she had to return.

The next morning she got in on normal time, for her, to find a slightly distressed Nate in their bullpen talking to Sam and Callen.

"What's going on guys?" she asked, seeming to be wary and scared of what could have happened, but jumping for joy inside that it had had the desired effect.

Nate turned around to face her but Sam was the one who replied, obviously trying to keep as straight face. "All of Nate's furniture in his office has been replace with cardboard, his ties and his comic books have been put in jello and there's big posters with luminous colours on on the walls. Nate's having a minor breakdown."

"I ... I'm fine ... It's just ... my comics and that d...," Nate stuttered out, seemingly still in shock.

"Oh yeah," Callen added. "There was a blow up doll glued to his cardboard office chair." This seemed to amuse both Callen and Sam but they kept straight faces for the sake of Nate.

"Uh ..." Kensi said, despite knowing all that, still completely unsure of what to say. When you put it like that ... "Can't you just remove all the cardboard?"

"We could ..." Sam replied. "If it wasn't for the balloons full of glitter."

That had been an inspired suggestion from Eric, the others being all her own. It wasn't that they had a specific grief with Nate but he was just so easy to prank, having his own office and lower defences and agenty senses, that they couldn't resist. Maybe they had gone a little far but the footage would be so funny and well ...

Kensi was tempted to ask how Nate knew about the doll if all they saw was the balloons but the glitter on Nate kind of said it all. At least she'd been kind enough to put sheets down first to protect the floors and removed all the furniture.

It appeared that Callen and Sam had decided to help and, while she had been lost in thought, had decided to look for the missing furniture before trying to remove the glitter filled balloons. Kensi, wanting to avoid paperwork, joined them. She, of course, knew where the furniture was, but let them wander for a while to waste more paperwork time, before subtly steering them in the right direction.

They found the furniture in a little used back room where she had also left some large pins so the could pop the balloons more easily, figuring this would be what they would choose to do first. She let the boys go first to Nate's office, excusing herself to the toilet. Just as she thought, and asked/demanded, Deeks had left a box of donuts on her desk, after taking one for himself, and so she took this time to put into play the next part of her plan while he wasn't around.

Rejoining the boys at Nate's office, Kensi was just in time to watch the three, all in those plastic poncho things, pop the balloons. Sam deviously saved one with the multicoloured glitter still inside, obviously having a plan for it later. They then discovered the sheets which would save them a lot of time. The jello that the ties and comics were in had been in a big plastic box so it was saved from being covered in glitter.

The doll, however, was firmly stuck to the chair and so a red faced Nate had to remove the whole chair to get it out, getting odd looks and laughs from agents as he passed by, carrying a doll on a plastic chair. He seemed very embarrassed by that and was redder than he had been when he left with the doll, when he returned. He went from a bright cherry tomato red upon leaving to a deep fuchsia on return. It was really quite spectacular and she would have felt sorry for Eric missing it if she didn't know he would be watching the footage back.

Between the four of them, it didn't actually take that long to remove all of the cardboard, taking longer to do all the heavy lifting to get the furniture back. Kensi had had to use small machinery to help her get it out in the first place so she wasn't surprised how heavy it all was. Luckily the room she used hadn't been far and so it was easier to move the furniture less distance.

It wasn't long after that, that all the posters had been removed and all the furniture back in place and all was left to do was to get the ties and comics out of jello. Sam, Callen and Nate ate most of the jello, Kensi turning it down, and Nate was relieved to find that 1. the jello was strawberry and not lime and 2. that his ties and comics had been in plastic boxes in the jello so they weren't damaged. He obviously hadn't smelt the ties yet as he out one on straight away.

Kensi had washed them in floral wash and sprinkled jasmine on them so they smelt strongly floral, yet Nate hadn't seemed to notice yet.

They left him in his office, happily reading his comics, and wandered down to their bullpen where Deeks was back at his desk again.

Kensi grinned at the sight if the donuts, but not for the reason they all thought. Her grin widened when she saw Sam creep up behind Deeks with the balloon and the pin. Deeks jumped as a balloon popped above his head and was showered with glitter. He shook his head like a dog but the glitter stuck to his hair making the other three laugh hysterically.

Plonking herself down ungracefully into her chair, still laughing, she grabbed the closest one, seeing Deeks munching on his already, pouting from the glitter and being laughed at but knowing better than to go up against Sam, and bit into hers, prepared.

When the taste hit her, she screwed up her face and reacted as she would, grabbing a napkin and spitting the donut back out.

Deeks looked up worried. "Are you ok over there, Fern?" he asked.

"How many times have I told you not to call me that?' she asked in mock anger. "And what the hell did you do to these?"

"What do you mean?"

"You know what I mean Deeks. You filled my donuts with cream cheese. I'm going to kill you."

"I didn't!" he denied, frightened of Kensi's wrath. "See they're fine." He showed her his donut with jam in.

"Yeah, yours would be fine," she said sarcastically. "This is definitely not jam."

Deeks looked at the donut in her hand that she had taken a bite out of and agreed it was not jam. "But I didn't do it! I didn't give you donuts with cream cheese in," he denied frantically.

"So are you saying you didn't get me donuts like I asked you to?"

"No I did ... But I ... They didn't ... Fern ... Kens ... Kensi ... I'm going to just ..." Once again, Deeks ran away quickly, this time with an angry partner on his tail.

Kensi had swapped the donuts Deeks had bought with ones she had filled with cream cheese earlier and hidden the nice ones to eat later. She had thrown suspicion off of her by also getting pranked but she would have to prank herself again to keep suspicion away from her. But for now she had a parter to scare ...

Returning later, Kensi sat down only for Nate to walk by smelling very pungently of flowers and jasmine. He coughed and asked where the smell was coming from. It was following him everywhere, he said.

Callen, Sam and Kensi, Deeks was still missing, all burst out laughing. Nate looked hurt but they couldn't stop. How did he not realise that the smell must be on him? Nate eventually walked away from the laughing agents tend retreated to his office to hide from the smell. All in all for Kensi it had been a good day.

Unbeta'd once again but hope the quick update makes up for it. If you like it please review.I apologise if I made Nate sound stupid or incompetent. I didn't mean to, I love Nate's character but I just needed someone who would be easier to prank and who was less paranoid.

Also Deeks is sort of the scapegoat because I can imagine him sticking his foot in it in conversations and he is the one most likely to be the prankster if you just looked at the characters to me. If you don't lime it then I'm sorry.
