New friends and goodbye
Last time on heart to heart
"Tell me Jackie, do you know of a pokemon called Uxie?" I asked
"How do you know about it?"
At the site off Jackie, uxie jumped into my arms. "it's okay Uxie, this is Jackie, a pokemon ranger, you know the one I went to help out, he's here to help you."
"Alright, come on out, we know that you're in there" we didn't move "you're not going to come out, fine we'll force you out, use flamethrower" I looked at Jackie and he pointed at the ground in a 'stay here' motion and I nodded as he stood up. "Well if it isn't the pokemon ranger, where's Uxie"
"I don't know, nor would I tell you if I did."
"Fine have it you way, flamethrower"
Jackie's P.O.V
I was trying to distract the poachers so that they wouldn't find Naomi or uxie that where hiding in the bush when one of the men order a houndoom to use flamethrower, but it wasn't aimed at me, it went right at the bush that had Naomi and uxie in.
"NO, NAOMI, UXIE"
"WHAT? UXIE WAS IN THERE?" said one of the pouchers as the bush finally burnt out. Everyine of us looked and I sighed in relief, Naomi and Uxie weren't there, but that thought set off the alarms. If their not here, then where are they?
Naomi's P.O.V
"Fine have it you way, flamethrower"
I quickly coverd Uxie with my body and closed my eyes waiting for the attack to hit but it never did. When I opened my eyes I saw that we were no longer in the bush but in the clearing near the lake I first saw Uxie. I quickly looked down at Uxie in my arms and saw that he looked more tired then he did before.
"Are you okay Uxie?" I asked, sitting up, worried about the little guy.
'I'm fine, this is as far as i could get us, i'm sorry.' said Uxie looking up at me. I smiled and hugged him closer to me.
"Don't be sorry Uxie, you just saved us both." I then stood up. "But we need to get out of here." I said and started to run twards the Luxray territory. I didn't have to run that far though as Luxray had met me halfway. "Luxray, thank goodness. Can you takee Uxie to your den and look after him, don't let anyone but me and that ranger you saw before near him okay." I said putting Uxie on Luxray's back as he turned around and nodded. Uxie looked up at me a bit sad.
'You'll come and get me wont you?' Uxie asid.
"Of course i will, i promise and Luxray" Luxray looked at me. "can you send some Luxio that know dig to the lake please, I have an idea." Luxray nodded before running off in the direction of his base while i ran off to the lake and waited for the Luxio to appear, however as i was standing around a couple of the poaucher stepped out of the buses not far from the lake.
"Well, well, what do we have here? A little girl" said one of them.
"I'm not a little girl and whatever you're here for you can just leave, you're not welcome here." I said glaring at them.
"Hey what do you say, should we teach her a lesson in manners." said the second one holding up a pokeball.
"I agree, let's show this pipsqueak not to mess with us." said the first one also grabbing a pokeball. They both threw them into the air and out came a Houndoom and Mightyena. I quickly ran so that I was infront of the lake and put my thumb and index finger in my mouth and whistled. The pouchers looked confused and were about to laugh until two Gyarados came up out of the water, makeing both of the pouchers freeze for a second.
"She must be a pokemon ranger." said the second poucher.
"Yeah,which means she must know where Uxie is." said the first.
"I'll never tell you where he is." I said. "Gyarados use ice-beam." they did, freezing both of the pouchers and their pokemon. "Thanks guys." i said running off. after a little while a few Luxio ran up to me. "Great timing. Alight, we're going to need to dig a lot of traps around here so lets get to work." the Luxio nodded and stared to dig where I told them to while I coverd up the holes to make them hidden.
Jackie's P.O.V
I stood around waiting for officer Jenny to come and grab the pouchers that I had ties up.
'Where could Naomi and Uxie have gone to?' I though to myself as a car came to a stop next to me and Jenny stepped out. I helped her get the pouchers into the va that had followed her car and closed the door when the where both in there. I heard a pokemon cry from above me and looked up to see a Fearow, when the Fearow landed someone jumped off. "Spenser." I said smiling at my old friend.
"Hey, how's it going Jackie?" said Spenser. He then looked at me. "I thught you said you had Uxie with you." he asked a bit confused on not see Uxie with me. I then explained to him what had happened and he nodded in understanding. "Hopefully this Naomi girl will be able to keep Uxie safe."he said and I just smiled at him.
"Don't worry, I know that she'll be able to keep him safe." I said. Spenser looked like he was going to reply but then looked behind me.
"What's that?" he said and I looked at where he was looking and saw a Flamethrower being shot into the sky.
"The pouchers must have gone to close to the Luxray territory." I replied remembering what happened before Naomi came and shudderd and the thought of what could of happened if she didn't come.
"Maybe, but we should still check it out." Spenser said. "Take Fearow and go have a look." he said to me. "I'll look around for some more pouchers." I nodded, got on Fearow and took off in the direction the Flamethrower came from.
Naomi's P.O.V
As the Luxio and I had finish all the traps I was about to head to the luxray territory when I heard voices close by, but before I could hide three pouchers came out of the bushes.
"So there you are, alright listen up little girl, i'll give you two options. One you hand over Uxie to us and we'll let you go, or two, we destroy you, this forest and the town back there until we find him ourselves." said the one in the middle as he released his Houndoom from it's pokeball.
"I'll never tell you where Uxie is." I said then took a few steps back as the Luxio got in front of me. When the pouchers took a step forward along with the houndoom I smirked. "Now Luxio use Iron tail on the ground." I comanded and they did making the pouchers and Houndoom fall into the trap. I walked over to the edge and look down into the hole and laughed a bit.
"Danm you, you little brat. Houndoo use Flamethrower." the one comanded and the Houndoom shot it at me but i quickly ducked and took off running in the way of Luzray's tearritory with the Luxio right next to me.
Jackie's P.O.V
As I was flying I saw something that looked like ice by a lake so i told Fearow to go down towards it. When we landed and I got off, I looked at the ice and saw two more pouchers trapped in it.
"What the?" I asked myslef in confusion, I then took out my radio and called Spenser." Hey can you get Officer Jenny down by the lake there's two more pouchers, frozen solid."
"You got it, but frozen solid, really?" Spenser asked.
"Yep, I have a feeling they ran into Naomi." I said and hung up and got back on Fearow. When we were back in the air we went into the direction we were originally going in, though when we got there all I could see was a big hole in the ground so Fearow flew over it and I looked into it and saw three more pouchers there trying to climb out. I took out my radio again. "got another three, in the direction where we saw the Flamethrower from." I said to Spencer.
"Frozen again?" he asked.
"Nope, in a big hole." I said as he laughed a bit.
"I'm starting to like this girl, she knows how to do things." he said and hung up. I continued flying ferver on and not long after I started I saw Naomi running with a few Luxio next to her.
"NAOMI." I shouted.
Naomi's P.O.V
"NAOMI." I heard someone yell my name so I looked behind me and saw Jackie flying on a Fearow so I stopped running and allowed him to land next to me and get off of the Fearow.
"Where's Uxie!?" he asked in a paniked voice not seeing Uxie with me.
"Relax will ya, so you really think i'd let anything bad happen to him. He's with Luxray in his base." i replied calming him down a bit. "By the way, who's Fearow?" I asked looking at it.
"How do you know it belongs to someone, it could be wild." said Jackie.
" I know every pokemon in this forest and there are no Fearows', there's not even a spearow." I said making Jackie chuckle a bit.
"It's another rangers partner." he awnserd.
" get going so we don't run into any more pouchers." I said ruuning in the direction of the base with Luxio behind me. I heard Jackie follow with Fearow flying behind.
"So it WAS your work, by the lake and the big hole." said Jackie.
"Yep." I said. After 10 minutes of running we finally reached a cave and walking in, when we where in all we could see was Shinxs' playing, Luxio walking around or laying down and Luxray was laying down next to Uxie who was on a make-shift bed of leaves. I quickly walked over to Uxie and sat next to him, when i did he opened his eyes and looked at me.
'You came back like you promised.' Uxie said with a smile.
"Of course and I'm not the only one, Jackie's here to." I said as Jackie came and sat next to me.
'Jackie.' smiled Uxie.
"Hey Uxie, how ya feeling?" asked Jackie.
'A bit tired, but i'll be okay soon.'
"That's good, why don't you get some more rest." I said and Uxie nodded before going back to sleep. It was silent between me and Jackie for awhile before I decided to break it. "Hey Jackie."
"What is it?"
"Why did you become a pokemon ranger?" I asked pulling my knees to my chest, wrapping my arms around them and resting my chin on my knees.
"Well, I was a kid, I got stuck and these pokemon saved my life. I was hiking in the mountines when a sudden blizzard came up, trapping me. It just kept blowing harder and harder, I thought that was the end for sure. I'd never experianced a bitter cold like that before, when all of a sudden this migrating group of forest pokemon were there and one by one they started to gather arounf me, like a bunch of hot water bottles. If they hadn't had been so kind to me back then, I would't be here today. I guess I wanted to be a pokemo ranger ever since. I was about the same age as you." raplied Jackie.
"Really?" I asked looking at Jackie and he nodded. I put my head back on my knees thinking about what Jackie had said. "What's it like? being a pokemon ranger I mean."
"It's great, though I'm in danger some of the time, I love doing my work to help out pokemon."
"Do...do you think i'd make a good pokemon ranger?" I asked looking down some. Jackie looked at me a bit shocked at first, but then smiled.
"I'd think you'd make a great ranger, you already have all the nessasery qualities needed." said Jackie and I looked at him, smiled a bit the looked at some of the shinx playing. I looked to my left and saw Uxie still asleep, I also saw Luzray had also fallan asleep tp. I yarn finally feeling the days events catch up to me. "Why don't you go to sleep for a bit." said Jackie seeing me yarn, I nodded and leaned my back on the cave wall, slowly falling asleep. I was woken up by Luxray awhile later, I sat up and looked around not see Jackie or Uxie.
"Where Uxie and Jackie?" I asked standing up. Luxray nodded to the ground and I followed his gaze only to see a note there, I quickly picked it up and read it outloud. "'Naomi, sorry i had to go and take Uxie, it's juat that this is to dangerouse and you've already became to involved, but don't let what i've done change your mind about becomeing a pokemon ranger, I ment what I said about you. You could become one of the best rangers around, I'll write a letter of recomenadtion to the ranger school for you, so if you still want to become a ranger, you can. from Jackie.' I can't believe he just up and left, even taking Uxie without saying goodbye." I said with a few tears in my eyes. Luxray nudged my legs and I looked down at him as he started growling and nodding towards the entrance of the cave. I nodded. "Yeah, you're right, I'm not going to sit here and let them go, not without saying goodbye to Uxie at least." I said and ran out of the base with Luxray behind me. Not long after I had started running I was stopped by a two pouchers and their Houndooms. "Oh come on, havn't you all been caught yet and get it through your heads, i will never let you have Uxie" I asked them.
"We'er not here for Uxie, SEIZE HER!" shouted the one on the left as the Houndoom ran at me but were blocked by Luxray.
"Luxray use Thunder!" I comanded and he did, hitting one though the other came from the side getting Luxray with a Fire fang. things kept up like this Luxray hitting one while the other sneeked up and attacked Luxray at close range until he went flying into a tree, knocked out. "No Luxray." I said about to run to him when i felt aomething hit me on the back of my neck before everything went dark.
Jackie's P.O.V
I felt reall bad about leaving Naomi behind and so did Uxie, but after I explain how dangerous it was for her, he hesitatly agreed. I was now waiting with Spenser for a car that will take us back to Uxies' lake when all of a sudden Uxie shot up and tried to fly away but started to fall. I quickly caught him but he kept trying to get out of my grasp.
"What's wrong with him?" asked Spenser.
"Not sure, Uxie what is it?" I asked him hilding onto him so he couldn't go anywere.
'They've got her, she's in danger.' said Uxie struggling to get out of my grasp even harder now.
"What? They've got Naomi?" I asked and Uxie nodded.
"I'll go and save her." said Spenser.
"But-" I started.
"Don't worry, I'll get her, trust me." he said and I nodded.
"Alright, but you better, she could become one of the best rangers we have."
"You got it." Spencer said and got on Fearow before flying off.
Naomis' P.O.V
I woke up a bit groggy to something thumping and sat up looking around only I couldn't as it was pitchh black. I took my bag off of my back and rumaged through it until i found a flashlight, pulling it out and turing it on I saw that i was in the back of a truck. I looked around and saw nothing but empty cages agound me, until i heard a little whine behind me, so I turned around and saw a Teddiursa in the cage behind me, puching himself up against the back wall. I notice somthing odd about this Teddiusa through, instead of the usual brown color it was a light green. I walked over to the cage and nelt infront of it. "Hey there little guy, you alright?" but the Tessiursa just looked away from me. I frowned but then pulled a snack bar out of my bag and opened it before putting my arm through the bar. "It's alright, you can trust me." I said smiling at him, but the Teddiusa didn't move, so i put the bar on the floor of the cage and backed up a few steps. It took awhile but the Teddiusa finally walked forward and picked up the bar before running back to the back of the cage andtook a nibble of the bar before smiling and eating it all. I smiled and took another one out, opened it and put it where i put the other one when Teddiusa finished with the other one, and back up a few steps again. Teddiusa took this one with no hesitation and stayed neard the front to eat it. When that one was finish I took out the last one and opened it before walking, slowly, over to the cage and got down on my knees again. The Teddiusa looked a bit scared. "Don't worry, It's ok." I said passing the last one to him. He looked at the bar that at me then back at the bar before taking it out of my hands making me smile big. "Alright, I'm gonna see if i can get you out of this cage, ok." I asked and the Teddiusa nodded. i got up and started looking for the door, when i found It I saw that it needed a kew to open. "Easy enough." I said taking out a paper clip from my bag, bending it so that it was straight before picking the lock open. When the door opened Teddiusa came out and I picked him up. "There we go, now, let's see about getting out of h-" I was cut off as the truck we were in came to a sudden holt, making the cage that where stacked up on top of each other fall down, I quickly covered Teddiusa with my body as they fell, but one of them fell and hit me hard on the ankle, making me cry out in pain and fall to my knees still protecting Teddiusa. When It all stopped I stood up and put all my weight onto my right foot before i heard the back doors to the truck open. I covered Teddiusa again as I expected it to be the pouchers, but I was suprised to see the doors open to another ranger.
"Hey, you're Naomi right?" asked the new ranger.
"Yes, who are you?" I asked.
"Name's Spenser. I'm a friend of Jackie's." I relaxed when he said that and limped to the edge of the truck. "You alright?"
"Yeah, a cage fell on me while i was covering Teddiusa." I said putting Teddiusa down before sitting down to get out, but Spenser helped me out and get my balance. "Thanks." I said as Teddiusa jumped down, I heard a growling nrse and looked to see Luxray there. "Luxray, you're ok. Thank goodness." I said then I turned around as I heard police sirens close by. When they pulled up the car door opened and Uxie came flying out. "Uxie." I said limping towards him with my arms open.
'Naomi, I'm glad you're ok.' said Uxie as he hugged me hack, I looked behind Uxie to see Jackie get out of the car.
"Me too and I see you ok now to." I said refering to him being able to fly again.
'Yes I'm now back to full health. But I must return to my home now, thank you for everything Naomi. I will erase the memories of this event from everyone who's heart is not pure. Goodbye Naomi." said Uxie flying up before a bright light appeard macking us all cover our eyes. When I looked back Uxie wasn't there and Jackie, Spenser and I were the only ones without a confused look on their faces, even Officer Jenny was confuised.
"Goddbye Uxie, hope we meet again some day." I said smiling at where i laster saw him. Jackie and Spenser smiled aswell.
"What am I doing here?" asked Officer Jenny.
"You were about to take these men to prison for harming a lot of pokemon." said Jackie. Officer Jenny nodded and put the last few pouchers in the truck before driving off in the van. Luxray then nudged my leg and I looked down at him as he nodded in the direction of the town.
"AHHH." I exclained making Jackie and Spenser look at me as I realised what Luxray was trying to tell me. "I haven't been home at all today, mom's gonna kill me." I said.
"I'll come with you and explain what happened to your mom." said Jackie and I nodded.
"You can take Fearow again." said Spenser.
"Thanks."
"In the mean time I'll get Teddiusa on a ship back to Johto, alright."
"Only if Teddiusa wants to." I said and we all looked down at Teddiusa as It walked over to me and hugged my good leg. "Well that awnsers that." I said and picked up Teddiusa and pit him on the front of Luxray as I climbed on behind.
"Right, let's go." said Jackie getting on Fearow.
"I'll meet you back at the main base, alright Jackie." said Spenser going to the police car that was still there, Jackie nooded and then we where off. When we got to my house I was a bit hesitant on going in but jackie put and arm around my shoulder, supporting me both physically and mentally. When we walked in, well me hop in, I could see my mom pacing back and forth.
"Hey mom." I said as she lloked at me, then ran over and hugged me.
"Oh Naomi, I was so worried, when you didn't come back In the morning and then I saw that there was explosions in the forest but no one was allowed to go in. Don't you ever scare me like that again you hear me young lady, or you'll be grounded for a month." said my mom, she then notices jackie standing next to me. "Who are you?"
"Hello ma'am, I'm Jack Walk a pokemon ranger, please call me Jackie. I'm here to tell you what your daughter has been up to and why she hasn't been home." Jackie said as I went into the kitchin, got three bowls of pokemon food and walked out to the front of my house where Luxray, Teddiusa and Fearow where and gave them a bowl each, sitting down. I could hear Jackie explain to my mom what was going on, leaving out a few details, but my mom understood so she didn't ask. "You've raise a wonderful child ma'am."
"I'VE raised her, she spends so much time out side i think that the pokemon raised her." said my mom makeing Jackie and myself chuckle a awhile Jackie said goodbye to my mom and came out front, I stood up, my ankle was feeling better, and came over to me.
"Well I've got to go know." said Jackie walking over to Fearow as I nodded.
"Alright." I said and watched as he got on Fearow and flew a bit into the air.
"I ment what I put in that note, I'll send a letter of recomendation to the ranger school for you." said Jackie.
"Really." I said as he nodded and waved while Fearow started to fly off, with me waving to him. "Goodbye Jackie and thank you, for everything." Luxray nudged my leg before growling and running off. "cya Luxray and thank you too." I said before he was out of sight, I then looked down at Teddiursa befor picking him up. "Well, let's go in, what do you say." I said and Teddiusa nodded.
NEXT TIME ON HEART TO HEART
LETTERS AND POKEMON RANGER SCHOOL
"Alright, my letters finally here." I said in excitment as i ripped it open and read it. "Yes, I'm in." I said grabbing Teddiusa and spining around.
"That's great news hunny." said my mom.
"Thanks for the lift Staraptor." I said as he flew off.
"Well, Well, look at little miss like to show off, flying in on a pokemon like that." said an annoying voice behind me. I turned around and saw a girl with blond hair and bluse eye with an Espeon next to her.
""Who are you?" I asked.
"What do ya say Teddiusa, wanna go exploring some before we have to go to dinner." I asked as i layed down on my bed in my dorm room, Teddiusa nodded. "Alright, then let's go."
"Wow, what a beautify place." I said looking around the little cavern that we had just found. "How has this place survived without nobody else finding it?" I asked myself. As I was looking around I saw a bunch of pokemon surrounding something pink on the floor, so i quickly ran over to them. However one of the Chikotita's that was there spotted me and fired a razer lead at me, which I had just about dodged. "Wait stop, I only want to help."
"An Absol." I said shocked.
"No way, is that a..a Mew." I asked looking at the pokemon in the ground clutching it's arm.
"Well, that sure was a fun day huh Teddiusa?" I asked but got no awnser. "Teddiusa?" I looked at him next to me but saw that he was fast asleep so i smiled and got comfortable myself. "Goodnight Teddi, sweet dreams."
