Author's note: Alright! Chapter 13! After this I only have two more chapters (chapter 14 and the Epilogue) Alright, let's check it out!
Chapter 13: Jose The King of Zombies
Gajeel held Levy tight in his arms while she cradled her injury. She lifted her wrist up so they could check it out. It was a deep bite mark; blood was still flowing out of it. No matter how much of her blood flowed out, Levy knew she was infected with The Virus.
"How long until it sets in?" Gajeel asked Levy. She thought for a moment. Since she studied The Virus through Gajeel's blood; Levy once took a sample of her own blood and added Gajeel's infected blood into the mix to see how long it would take to infect it.
"An hour." she said "or more. It depends really, But it's been a minute so I only have fifty nine minutes left." Gajeel looked at Levy; he didn't want her to meet the same fate he did. He did everything in his power to protect her; only to fail on the spot.
"Don't blame yourself Gajeel." she told him "It was coming either way." Gajeel helped her up and then stared at their enemies.
"Well if you're finished with your little romantic moment. I'm going to leave." said Jose "Thanks to Fairy Tail, I'm going to release the new wave of The Virus earlier." A look of shock hit Levy and Gajeel. The world was going to be a complete world of zombies in a matter of time! And if some of The Virus went through the Reverse Anima...It meant two worlds were in trouble.
Jose disappeared the moment he announced his plan.
"A thought projection?!" Levy screamed.
"Levy, do you have The Cure with you?" Gajeel asked; Levy nodded "Good. Take The Cure and head to the castle in town. I have a feeling Jose's there."
"H-how can you tell?" Levy asked.
"I picked up his scent from there and I spotted something on my way here. I spotted a long tube that goes from here to the castle. I think that's where he's launching The Virus. You can get there in about ten minutes but you're going to have to fight him before The Virus sets in." Levy looked at Gajeel for a moment and then nodded. She ran out of the old guild before Balthazar could even touch her "It's just you and me now scumbag." he re-enter Iron Shadow Dragon Mode and began to fight back at the zombie.
Levy ran as fast as she could to the town's castle. She looked at her arm and noticed something. Veins; purple veins. The Virus was starting to take effect. She needed to get to the castle faster than she already was. She was halfway there until she noticed a shortcut; Levy the took the shortcut to the castle and arrived there shortly. She found Jose at a machine, typing and punching numbers into the machine.
"So you arrived." said Jose "You're a smart girl." He punched a few more numbers into the machine before looking at Levy "How's your wound?" Levy clutched her wrist and stared at Jose with cold eyes.
"Why are you doing this?" she asked him "Your going to harm innocent lives."
"That's what I plan." he told her "They will be zombies the rest of their lives."
"But you're ruining innocent lives!" Levy screamed "Don't you have any sympathy or guilt?!"
"If I did, then I would remove this;" he walked over to another machine and removed a purple tube from the machine "It's filled with high concentration of The Virus. Mixed with this, I made The Virus you saw earlier twice as strong and the effects of The Virus will be permanent." before he could put it back, Levy charged at him for the tube. She needed to taint it with The Cure in order to save the world.
"How dare you!" screamed Jose. The extract of The Virus fell out of Jose's hand and began to roll away. Levy ran to it and attempted to grab it, only to be pulled up by Phantoms created by Jose. Levy struggled under Jose's puppet and soon got a good look at her arm. The skin on her hand was starting to turn grey.
"You seem to be an interference with my plans." Jose cooed to Levy "I'm just going to have to kill you."
"Try to!" Levy screamed back "Your just going to fail in the end." Jose raised an eyebrow hearing this.
"What do you mean, dear girl?" he asked.
"You really think you can win this?! Once that Virus hits the air the whole world will turn to zombies. You'll be the only one left. What makes you think the zombies will listen to you? I sure as hell wouldn't listen to a human. You would be a nobody to the zombie race. Just someone else to kill!" Jose thought for a moment; this girl was right. Then an idea appeared in his head.
"Well looks like I have no choice then." he smirked. At that moment, Jose took the top off the tube and Levy couldn't believe what happened next; Jose began to drink The Virus.
Gajeel's fight continued during the time Levy left; the more he fought, the more brutal it got.
"Iron Shadow Dragon's: Roar!" Gajeel screamed. A roar filled with iron and shadows hit the zombie so hard; it broke the wall. Gajeel ran after him and hit him with an Iron Dragon's Club. While he hit Balthazar with the club, Gajeel sent out a silent prayer to the heavens; hoping Levy was going to be ok.
Levy was definitely NOT ok. She watched as Jose drank some of The Virus and put it back before he started to feel the effects on himself. His nails began to grow long and his skin turned a sea green. His eyes began to turn red and his veins turned purple. his muscles began to bubble and bulged as the seconds ticked by. His clothes begin to rip as his muscles bulged and soon, an evil cackle left his lips.
"Say hello, to Jose, The Zombie King!" he screamed. Levy looked at him with fear in his eyes while he cackled. He can speak freely she thought Just like The Bad Zombie... this must be through sanity. Levy continued to stare at the newly zombified man while already knowing he was completely insane.
