AN: And I'm back, after almost two years. Sorry about that I just couldn't put my thoughts into words, but here's your new chapter. As always I don't own LOTR or Chronicles of Narnia.
"... and so I stabbed her in the back, preventing her from resurrecting," concluded Edmund. After he revealed what the Hag was possibly doing, we questioned them as to what that meant. They told us about how she was almost resurrected and what it could mean to Middle-Earth. As I glance around I note that Frodo and Sam are the most shaken by this while Gandalf and Lord Elrond both wore thoughtful expressions.
"So you're saying this Witch, Jadis, could come back even though she's dead?" asked Frodo.
"Yes," said Peter, "however I don't think the Hag will be able to. She'd need a possession of Jadis' in order to resurrect her and we made sure that all her possessions were destroyed or kept under lock and key."
"How can you be sure?" asked Gimli. "I thought you said that your old Narnia was destroyed. How can you be sure she didn't just steal one of her possessions?"
"He's right Peter," said Lucy, "We don't know if they were well guarded and she might've been able to get her hands on something. After all, it has happened before."
"Okay, let's say that were the case," said Peter, "there's the chance that she won't be able to resurrect Jadis. The Magic here is noticeably differs than that of Narnia's. It's weaker and not as potent as it was in Narnia."
"Even so we mustn't just overlook it," said Eomer. "We should send a small company to eliminate the threat. If they find them, then we'll be sure that the Witch won't come back."
"Unfortunately we won't be able to send anyone until tomorrow," said Faramir.
"Why not?" asked Edmund. For some reason he kept shooting Peter strange looks.
"The soldiers were dismissed to spend the day with their families," I said. "Since I was going to spend the day with my family and friends I thought they should too. I've only got guards in the Citadel."
"Then tomorrow send a small company," said Edmund. "He didn't say where they were heading, so we have to figure out a location. Can you think of any location where they may use as a hideout?"
"I believe that we can safely assume it's in Mordor," said Faramir. "It has not been inhabited since Sauron's fall."
"Then it's settled," said Eomer. "Tomorrow a company will be sent out to eliminate the threat.
"What do you think, Gandalf? Lord Elrond?" I asked. I had noticed he and Lord Elrond kept quiet throughout the whole conversation, however I had not thought much of it. However their counsel would be invaluable. Gandalf and Lord Elrond looked up when I called them. They exchanged glances before Gandalf answered me.
"Well," began Gandalf, "If what you're friends are saying is true, then it would be imperative that we learn more. The company that you shall send should not confront whatever they find, but instead scout the area and see what they find."
"And what if they find them? What then?" asked Eomer.
"Then they'll come back and report their findings," said Lord Elrond. "We don't know if there were any Orcs left at the end of the war and those that did survive would've made their way into Mordor. Gandalf is right, if we go into this without any knowledge of what is happening then we may lose the lives of many men. It's better if we learn more about our enemy."
"Yes, but for now it is late and we must rest," said Arwen. "Tomorrow we'll send the company and learn more about Narnia from our guests. Kings Peter, Edmund and Queen Lucy, please follow me. I'll show you to your rooms."
With that she stood and made her way towards the door. The siblings exchanged glances, however they too stood up and followed my wife. I decided to follow their example and stood up.
"Arwen is right," I said. "It's late and we've spend much time discussing the matter. We will finish tomorrow. I'll have someone escort you all to your rooms."
I called a guard to escort them to their rooms, but before they left Frodo pulled me to the side. I looked at him and saw that he was paler than usual. He held the stump where his left forefinger used to be.
"Strider," he said. "Do you think that what they said was true? Do you think the Hag will be able to resurrect the Witch?"
"I think that there is the possibility of her being resurrected," I started, "however there is also the possibility of her not being resurrected. Why do you ask?"
"Well," he said nervously, "what if she is resurrected? Do you think that Sauron could be resurrected too?"
I was shocked. I hadn't even thought of that. It is a possibility, but I can't think of anything that could be used to resurrect him. I should discuss that with Gandalf and Lord Elrond privately.
"I don't think that could happen," I assured Frodo. There was no need to frighten him even more than what he already was. "Now, come, you should go to bed. We'll have a busy morning tomorrow.
"Peter what on earth was that?" Ed asked. We were sitting in my temporary room that Arwen, Aragorn's wife put me in. She was a very lovely woman, eh, elf and reminded me quite a bit of Susan when we lived in Cair Paravel. Thankfully she put us in rooms that were near each other.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Peter, please," said Lucy. "That was not like you in the throne room. You usually listen to what the people have to say without openly doubting them. What's wrong?"
"Nothing," I said. "I'm just worried about the Witch being resurrected. We should talk about this tomorrow. For now how do you like Middle-Earth?"
They both gave me looks that screamed 'we'll talk about this later and there's no way you'll get out of it'. Then Lucy brightened up and began to rant about the hobbits and the elves. She wouldn't stop shoving the fact that elves exist into Ed's face. She also loved the hobbits and couldn't use words other than adorable. Ed, however, was more interested in the Dwarf. I shouldn't be surprised, he did have many dwarven friends in Narnia. He was also interested in Lord Elrond and Gandalf, so I shouldn't be surprised if I don't see him in the next few days. As they continued back and forth about Middle Earth I relaxed into the bed, closed my eyes and tried to figure out a plan as to what to do next.
I didn't want to admit it but they were right. There is every possibility that the Witch could be revived, however there's also the possibility that she can't be. But that's just a slim possibility. If the artifact that the Hag has was important to the Witch then there's a higher chance of the Witch being resurrected. There's just so much that we don't know and that's what worries me. I couldn't hear Lucy or Ed so I opened my eyes and saw then staring at me. I smiled at them and they smiled back. I wrapped my arms around them and hugged them tightly. Whatever happens, as long as they're with me, everything will be alright.
I know it isn't very long and I feel like its rushed, but I hope to get the next chapter up by maybe early November.
