Chapter 14: Cured

Levy looked at Jose in complete horror; once a man now stood a zombie. Jose continued his cackling until finally he walked over to the machine he was at earlier and pressed a button on the machine. A clock appeared on the lacrima vision; ten minutes. Levy had ten minutes to get The Cure out to the people. She stared at her left arm for a moment and then looked at her right. Her right hand was turning grey and her whole left arm was now grey with purple veins.

I need to think of a way out of this. Levy thought Wait, light! Phantoms hate light! Levy reached into her pocket and held The Cure up into the air. The Phantoms screeched a horrible noise and dropped her on the spot. Levy landed on her feet and put The Cure away. She looked at the clock; Nine minutes thirty seconds. Levy needed to defeat him now.

"Jig is up Jose!" Levy screamed "I wont let you win!" an evil smirk was still on Jose's zombified lips.

"Do you really think you can defeat me little girl?!" Jose asked. That set Levy off; she hates being called a child or little in any form. Gajeel's teasing was one thing, but this is another.

"Solid script: Machine Gun!" Levy screamed. The word "Machine Gun" appeared out of thin air and began to hit Jose; it had no effect.

"I thought this through fairy!" he screamed. He let out a wave of darkness which Levy immediately dodged.

"Solid Script: Fire!" she screamed. The word "Fire" appeared out of thin air and hit Jose. Jose growled at Levy and ran towards her.

Gajeel leaped far away from Balthazar's attack. He looked around his surrounding area, hoping to find something to help him win this. Then, he noticed something. He noticed the tubes were beginning to drain The Virus!

What's taking so long Levy? he asked her mentally World needs ya right now Shrimp.

"Iron Dragon's Roar!" Gajeel screamed. A grayish hued roar with iron scraps hit the zombie. He continued to look at the castle; was Levy ok? Was she winning her fight? Was she hurt? These thoughts distract the zombified dragon slayer to the point where he was punched in the gut by Balthazar.

"What's the matter Dragon Slayer?" said Balthazar "Worried about your little girlfriend?"

"Shaddup ugly!" Gajeel replied.

"She should be pretty much zombified by now." Balthazar smirked "With that tiny body of hers she should be losing her humanity by now."

"I said shut up!" Gajeel swung his sword at Balthazar only for him to dodge it.

Levy dodged the attack by tumbling to the other direction. She looked at the countdown clock on the machine; Five minutes. She only had five minutes. Before she could think; Jose pinned her to the ground. He put his hand on her head and pressed it deep into the brick flooring. The Cure rolled out of her pocket when Jose pushed her to the ground; she tried to reach for it, but Jose pushed it away from her.

"It's over Fairy!" Jose screamed "Once that clock runs out, your whole world will come crashing down! There's no escape! This will be a new dawn!"

"Grrr..." Levy said through clenched teeth. "No! It's never over!"

"Don't be silly, girl! I win this round! Darkness will triumph over light!"

"No... Haven't you ever read any books? In the end... Light wins." He pushed her head harder into the ground "I pity you Jose; you obviously never had the experience of a family... You never treated your guild like they were your own or showed them the path of light..You've been left in the dark for so long... You lost your way. You're everything Gajeel could of been had he been left in the dark too long...But you'll never win! Fairy Tail will come out victorious! I won't let you harm anymore people!" With that said, Levy performed a little stunt she learned from Lucy's experience with Jose.

"Levy Kick!" she screamed. Levy kicked Jose straight in his manhood. Jose let out a yelp of pain before falling onto the ground in pain; Levy jumped up and grabbed The Cure. Levy looked at the clock and realized she had a minute left.

Levy ran to the machine that held the high concentration of The Virus and opened the top. Levy opened The Cure at that moment and poured the contents into The Virus. She watched the purple liquid start to change into pure white, but she screwed the tube shut and put it back into the machine. The clock reached zero and soon, The machine outside the castle which looked similar to The Jupiter Cannon launched a pure white orb into the sun-setting sky. When the orb hit the air, it vanished. Soon, dark grey clouds hit the sky and thunder and lightning appeared.

"NO!" Jose screamed as if his screams would stop it, but it wouldn't. Rain began to pour from the grey clouds but Levy noticed that the rain contained The Cure in the rain drops. Levy opened her mouth and let the heavy down pours hit her tiny body. She looked at her arms and noticed the grey tint on her arms dissapearing and the purple veins subsiding. Eventually, the wound that started it, completely disappeared.

"No, no no no no!" Jose rambled on. Levy stared at the now powerless man and noticed how the effects of The Virus have completely disappeared.Serves you right. Levy thought. While staring at her now cured arms, Levy realized something...Gajeel. Levy made some quick script magic spells that would prevent Jose from leaving the area. Levy ran out of the castle and ran towards the old Phantom Lord guild.

Levy ran as the rain continued to pour and noticed the once zombified people were now human again. She finally arrived at the old abandoned guild and noticed a man with long spiky black hair getting up from a courageous battle. He scratched the back of his head and sniffed the air. He turned around and spotted Levy.

"Shrimp!" he screamed.

"Gajeel!" she replied. She ran into his arms and hugged the man. She stared at the features on his face. The signs of his zombified body were now gone, his once pure red eyes now has white in them but the orbs in the center were still blood red. His long finger nails had shortened and his skin now had more life in it. "You're cured!" She smiled with tears in her eyes.

"Gihi. So are you shrimp." he leaned in and kissed Levy on the lips. Sparks began to fly for them; when she opened her eye, Levy noticed the once zombified man lying on the ground.

"Is that?" Levy asked.

"Yup, " Gajeel replied "turns out he was a serial killer that was on the loose before The Virus. He got struck by it but was approached by Jose and offered a position in his zombie kingdom. Reason I know is he told me before The Cure struck." He leaned in again and kissed Levy.

"I love you so much." Levy whispered.

"I love you too shrimp." Gajeel replied "But, there's something I need you to do for me."

"What is it?"

"I need you...to wake up."
