Tobias

Of all the times Tris has come home for a visit, this has been the best one, because I know she's not going to leave. She got here early and she has done her job, she is happy.

I lay next to her for the first time in about a month, I have missed her by my side, in my arms. I hold her close to me I take a deep breath missing her scent. Tris stirs in she sleep, than rolls over and faces me. "Morning?" She says as if asking if it was morning.

"Yeah. Good morning." I place my lips lightly on hers, today is a big day, we were informed last night that Jeanine is going to be kicked out of leadership and they are going to drive her a few miles out beyond the fence, depending on how she acts the first couple days of being out of leadership. I also get to spend the whole day with Tris, we are meeting our friends for breakfast but than the rest of the day is going to be just me and Tris.

"What time is it?" I look over at the clock.

"9:32."

"I can sleep a little longer right?"

"If you want, I'm going to shower."

"Okay." She kisses me lightly, I get out of bed and walk to the bathroom, I turn the water on hot and wait for it to warm up. I get in and let the hot water run down my back the feeling is comforting and makes me want to fall asleep.

I get out and Tris has moved from the bed to the couch, asleep again, I go up to her and crouch down. "You have made great progress." I say, I see a smile go across her face.

"I know right." She sits up and pats the seat next to her, I sit down and she lays her head on my shoulder, I wrap my arm around her and pull her closer to me. "It's nice to be home."

"It's nice having you home."

"I haven't realized how much I missed having your arms around me while I sleep."

"Having you in my arms is one thing I will never take for granted." I kiss her temple.

"You wanna get some breakfast?"

"Yup."

"Okay, let me just slip on some shorts or something, this shirt isn't going to work."

"Why not?"

"Because, it may be big but I can't just wear it around."

"I think you can." I pick her up, she lets out a scream.

"PUT ME DOWN!" I opens our door and drop her, and close the door, she puts her hands on her hips. "Not funny." She tries to open the door to our room to get back in but I had locked it. "I have a key!" She says, her face drops. "Inside the apartment."

"I got one. But since we are already out here I'm getting breakfast."

"FINE!" She walks next to me wearing one of my shirts. "This is just the worst." She tugs down the bottom of the shirt trying to make it longer, it goes about 6-7 inches above her knee.

"Hey Tris!" Christina calls. "You look good."

"Shut up."

"Where your pants?"

"In the apartment. Four here wouldn't let me back in." She shoots me a glare, I smiles at her.

"Good thing he didn't, you should wear that more often!" Christina teases.

"That's what I was thinking." I say, Tris glares at both of us and Will come running up next to Christina.

"Hey Tris, nice outfit."

"Shut your mouth." She hisses. I put my arm around her and pull her close to me.

"What's wrong?" I say in her ear.

"You are going to pay."

"Nope, you are going to have such a great day you will forget all about this."

"Tris, hey you're back! Here to stay?" Zeke asks.

"Yeah." Tris says.

"I would have hated doing that job."

"I didn't mind it."

"So what do you and Four here have planed for the day?"

"I'm going to kill him."

"Why?"

"Because he made me leave the apartment wearing this!" Tris gestures to the shirt.

"Oh get over it. It's not that bad, at least you are wearing something." That is when and angry Shauna comes stomping over with a towel wrapped around her self.

"ZEKE! YOU CAN'T TELL ME THERE'S A FIRE THEN LOCK ME OUT! I'M FREEZING COLD!" Zeke takes off running. "Oh hey Tris."

"Shauna..." We watch as Shauna stomps after Zeke, we all begin to laugh and continue walking to get breakfast.

We all sit down at the table and eat our food. I look around and notice Eric walk in. Haven't seen him in a while, he walks over and sits at our table. "Can we help you?" I say.

"Yeah actually. Tris, tell me, what was your job that Max had you do? I haven't seen you around the past few weeks. I know you went to the factions but what did you so there? They have no record of you coming."

"Oh yeah, well it was an all day job and I came home on nights, but the rest is kind of confidential."

"Don't lie to me. I am one of your leaders."

"Yet my head leader, what's his name, oh yes Max! He told me not to let out any info sooo, I can't tell you."

Eric's glare could kill, he gets up and leaves the room. "Tris where did you pick up that sass!" Christina says with a smile.

Tris just shrugs and continues eating like nothing happen.

Tris

After we got back to our room I showed and changed right after I was done we left the room and now we are on our way up to see Max, he is going to tell us about how it went with Jeanine. He opens his office door for us and we sit down. "That was one of the most unexpected things I have even been to." He simply says.

"What do you mean?" I ask.

"Jeanine. She just, left. Outside the fence, we told her she could stay if she would obey our laws, but she chose to leave."

"Really?"

"Yeah, it was not what anyone was expecting but she left peacefully, and willingly. Like she knew it was coming but couldn't do anything about it."

"What now?"

"Well the serum's that you told me about, those are now being used for the factions and factionless, people seem more happy now."

"That's good, who knew one person could bring down a whole system."

"It isn't something you would think can happen." Tobias and I get up to leave I walk out the door but Max speaks up. "Four, will you please stay for a second."

"Yeah." He says and closes the door, I lean against the wall across from his office and wait for him to come out.

The ten minutes he was in there seemed like hours. When he finally comes out he shakes max's hand, "It will be a pleasure having you here with us Four!" Max says, Tobias steps out of the office closing the door.

"What was that about?"

"Eric was kicked out of leadership, they want me. I declined again, but then I decided I would do some bargaining."

"So you are a leader?"

"Starting tomorrow."

"I thought you didn't want to?"

"After I thought about it, and he offered me some things people can't get here. I took it. I think it's going to be a good thing."

"Well I am behind you 100% if you think it's a good thing than I am all for it. Congratulations." He kisses the top of my head and we go down to the pit.

We walk down the halls to our apartment, he takes a turn and I follow. "Where are we going?" I say.

"I have to show you something."

"What?"

"This," He says and stops at the net. "This was the first time I saw you, I thought it was so weird having a stiff here in Dauntless and I thought there had to be a reason for you leaving, I know now that it was meant to be."

"I remember that day. Thought you were intimating and scary." I say leaning against him. We stand there looking at the net in silence, that one jump changed my whole life, that one choice changed my life.

"Come on." We walk on down the halls Tobias is very frigidity, he has one hand in his pocket and the other laced between my fingers. I can here him mumbling to himself as we walk.

"What is going on with you Tobias?"

"Oh nothing, just thinking."

"You've been doing that a lot lately."

"I know, sorry. I just got a lot on my mind."

"Mind enlightening me?"

"Oh, uh. Just don't worry about it." What is wrong with him!

"Tobias what is going on? Tell me? What are you thinking about?" Tris pushes, I don't know what I'm supposed to tell her, this is eating me alive!

"God damn it." I let out.

"What?!" Tris says. I stop walking and look at her.

"Tris, this has been on my mind for a while now, and you leaving for weeks at a time was killing me everyday! I don't want you to ever leave again."

"I know, it was hard on me too. I'm not going to leave."

"I know you wont but, I just Ah!" I let go of her hand and lean my head against the wall. It's just a question! Why is this so hard, it's not like shes going to say no! I don't know why this is so hard!?

"Hey, what's going on?" Tris says and places a hand on my back.

"You don't know how hard this is."

"What is?" I turn and face her.

I let out a big sigh. "Beatrice I want you to listen to me and listen closely!"

"What?"

"You know I love you and you know I don't want to lose you ever. I don't know where I would be without you."

"Tobias are you?"

"Shh! This has been bugging me and I just need to come out and say it."

"Say what Tobias?"

I take the small box I have been carrying around, out of my pocket and kneel down on one knee. "Tris. Will you marry me?"

The End.

So that just happen! That end of the story is here and gone! I'm so happy and sad! all these conflicting feelings! So many of you have been asking for like and epilogue, with this rather abrupt ending yes there will be. Not sure when though! I am so happy that you guys liked this story as much as you did! It means the world to me.
