Chapter 31: DISORDERED

Hey, Hey, Hey! I just read the reviews of Chapter 30 and it was awesome! So I may have missed the part where dani didn't wake up with the rest of the team so I will explain that.

Vitani: I loved the picture of the runaways and I feel like I wanna put it in my story (I didn't explain a lot so sorry for that!) But if you have any suggestion at all for a cover, I am willing to accept it!

Mount Justice

"You feeling better?" Hal asked as we make our way to the kitchen. My mind is still wandering about what Manhunter says. I was in coma for three days and Hal explained how I ended in a coma.

He says that everything was an exercise and we knew it. Everything was going well but it all changes when Artemis dies, Megan starts to control everything and her sub conscious mind was pushing it. So manhunter did his best but he cannot get inside Megan because I was making a protective shield around everyone when Artemis dies. So Batman calls Hal and explained the situation, he injected me a serum that makes me lose conscious and has been giving me headaches. So after I died, I went through coma and woke up last Monday.

I can't believe that I can make a big shield around them and pushing Megan to control more. I'm such a horrible person.

Hal snaps his fingers in front of me. "What?" I ask.

"Look I know what you're thinking and you have.." His phone rings. "Excuse me sis. The others are in the kitchen."

I walked to the kitchen and I saw the whole team depressed. I let out a breath, I always wanted to help and protect the team from harm. But never had I realized that I was the one who pushed Megan into making everyone's lives in danger.

Maybe I wasn't meant to be a hero. I went to a corner and hugged my knees. When I was a kid, maybe 10 at that time. I was just sneaking around to get something to eat at the middle in the night. I heard Hal and Uncle John talking about me in the kitchen and they were arguing.

Hal: John, we both know that she is dangerous. Don't remind me of that.

John: Hal, she survived an invasion. A freaking invasion and now we both volunteer for this babysitting? Come on, we're both better at this. Maybe we should have put her with the guardians.

Hal: Let's give her a chance, John. We can teach her and don't tell her about what happened that day. She may be dangerous but she has hope.

Ever since that day, I kept on having visions about screaming that makes my head hurt so hard. But now they have returned after the exercise.

Someone taps my knee, it's Robin. "Your turn." I stood up and went to the room where Canary is.

The room is calm and the tension is relaxed. Aunt Dinah is in chair, waiting for me. I sit across her. Since I'm wearing black jeans and white shirt underneath my black jacket.

"Danielle." Aunt Dinah says calmly.

"I wasn't always perfect like what Hal says about me. I'm still 13." I kept on looking on the ground and plays on my fingers.

"I can't remember why I have powers and Hal says that they are gift and I was born with it. He says I was chosen but I don't believe him. Ever since the start of the exercise, I always wanted to show them that I am not dangerous."

"You are not dangerous, Danielle. I can see that." Aunt Dinah says. "Everyone can see that. You have been with them for a couple of months and you showed and proved them that you are not dangerous."

"I am." My voice is shaky but I try to hold it. "When I was 11, I discovered I have powers and I was in school at that time in a quiz bee. People are pressuring me to win because they think I'm perfect but I'm not. Then everything in the room floats. Audience are screaming and suddenly they black out."

"What happened to them?"

"Hal says that I manipulated them. When I was shaking, they were out. He says I can control people with their minds."

"But that's not your fault, Dani. You were young. And your brother taught you right."

"He did but I didn't want anyone in the team to be in danger. I didn't want to make a shield around everyone that pushes Megan to do something bad."

She walks over and places her hand on my shoulder. "Dani, you are incredible. The whole team knows that. You are strong Dani. And I want you to be brave. Accept everything that has happen. Learn from your mistakes."

I nod and hugged her. "Thank you Aunt Dinah. I hate it when you always know what to say." She laughs and I went to the living room.

I exhaled and I feel calm. Maybe Aunt Dinah is right. I just have to accept everything that has happened and try to learn from it.

Everyone in the room is acting normally. Miss M is happily steering in her mixing bowl. Robin and Wally are talking. Looks like everything is back to normal.

I went to the zeta tube and head back to Gotham City.
