GOTHAM ACADEMY

November 8, 2010, 08:00 EDT

I took my geometry and science book from my locker. I checked the clock. 8:00. I am late.

I quickly closed the door and dashed to the hallway. The hallway is really shiny and slippery today. Thankfully, I am able to balanced well.

I went to my homeroom for Science. My classmates are busy talking and chatting about the latest events that happened. Their parents disappeared last week, Aqualad giving hope to the children and also saving them.

They didn't know what really happened. I thought about what happened to Zatanna. About how her father sacrificed himself to become Dr. Fate.

"Dani?" I shake my thoughts and I looked up. It's Dick. He looks tall with his Gotham Academy Uniform and his blue eyes sparkles as he speaks. It's adorable.

"Hey Dick. What's up?" Dick sits next to me. He raises his eyebrow, "You okay?"

I laughed. "Yeah. Just thinking about something." He gives me a look. "Nothing important."

"Good morning people." Mrs. Gaerner went inside and dropped her books in her table. She is in her mid-30's and still she looks young like 25. Her chocolate brown hair was put in a bun and her glasses is definitely making her look like a very professional teacher which she is.

Due to her very strict rules, all of us went back to our seats and sit straight.

"Very good. All of you are present." She says, roaming around. "I hope that you were doing well after what happened last week."

"We're fine ma'am." We answered in unison.

"Well! We're back on track. So let's recap." She went to her notebooks and read something. "I didn't announced this last week. So I would like to congratulate all of you of your amazing projects."

All of us clapped. "But only 3 stand out. 1st place, we have Richard Grayson and Danielle Jordan."

What? Did I just hear what she said? We're first? I didn't do much and it was all Dick's doing.

"Dani!" Dick said. He was giving me thumbs up and everybody congratulated us.

I fake a smile and clapped along. I feel so bad because I take all the credit. Dick deserves more. I will make it up to him.

After class, I catch up to Dick who was walking down the hallway by himself. Thank goodness.

"Dick! Wait!" He stopped and I huffed. Man this guy is very fast walker.

"Dani, hey." He smiled and distracts me for a second. Focus dani.

"I'm sorry."

"What?"

"You should have told Mrs. Gaener that it was you who mostly did the work on our project. I ditched you and you did most of it. Well technically you did all the work." I pleaded.

"Dani, it's okay."

"You're just saying that so you won't hurt my feelings. I can make it up to you. I'll do your homework for a month." I say to him and he laughed.

"What's so funny?"

"You begging."

What does that mean?

"I'm serious Dick. Well if you won't let me, then I will erase my name then I will let myself fail that project."

I turned away and someone grabbed hold of my hand. "Don't Dani. I don't want to be the blame of the end of your scholarship in Gotham Academy. I need you."

I blinked my eyelids a few times. What did he say?

He must have understand my face. His cheeks flushed, "What I meant was that I need you—to be my partner in chemistry and geography. That's it."

"Oh right. I knew that." I smile and we both laughed. I could feel my cheeks burning.

"Look at the time," he pointed. It's 9:30

"We're late!" We both yelled and run as fast as we can.
