Njal had just closed the door to house after making sure Apollo had left the area and was not going to pester him anymore for the day. Despite finding Apollo one of the more tolerable Olympians in terms of personality and social skills he did get sick of too much brightness. Though that may because his home would have months of perpetual darkness and light like the Norse countries here on Earth, or the fact he was a werewolf, one or the other. He still remembered when he first arrived on Earth, everyone he met initially had assumed he was from one of those countries based off of his language, looks, and accent. It was a nice coincidence that the native languages of the people of Nirn had equivalents in this world. Nordic being a combo of Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, and Finnish. The other languages of Nirn also helped with Njal's initial learning of the English and Italian languages since they bared a lot of similarities to the language used by the Imperials of Cyrodiil and the Bretons of High Rock.
Njal continued into the sanctum that had become his daughters learning and training area in magic for the past year and went to a large metal door on the far side. When he opened it up it lead to what could only be described as an armory, with weapons of varying types and size hung up on the walls, a forge was in the center surrounded by various blacksmithing equipment. To the right side of the room was a large black safe with numerous magical etchings and carvings on it, here was were Njal kept the more dangerous Daedric Artifacts locked away from this world. Back on Nirn he would have no problem using them, but here where to Deadra had no presence and could be released upon an unsuspecting world, they stated locked up. Now normally someone would question the sanity of a man who treated these weapons like they were the Daedra themselves but Njal knew that, while the are only pieces of the Princes the artifacts still held part of them inside. That meant if he allowed one of these to be released, the Daedra might gain enough influence to manifest in this world. That was something he would not allow.
Surrounding the safe was various magical and non magical weapons from Nirn ranging from sword and spear to prototype Dwemer rifles. Though the latter of that list was not as amazing as it had been when it was initially found during the Second Great War due to the other side of the room being covered in guns Njal had gotten here. Those ranged from simple .22s to high caliber assault rifles that, if the police found, would land the Nord in some hot water. Not that he cared, they were weapons of war, and as a Nord Njal sought to master all aspects of warfare. Though it did help h that he had extensive practice with them in the forms of the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and The Persian Gulf War. Njal had fought in all of these as a soldier, granted he had to have a new identity each time for obvious reasons. Couldn't have people questioning how someone in the span of 41 years did not age. Reminiscing about his experiences in this worlds wars Njal raised an interesting question with himself. Was he going to teach Katie and Annabeth how to use firearms. Making bullets that could kill monsters would not be the problem, it was more of the a gun attracts a lot more attention than a knife or sword does when fighting.
"Hmm, ah what the hell. What's the worst that can happen?" Njal said to himself as he went around the room and gathered what weapons and tools he would be teaching his daughters how to fight with. Though not like they needed much help in that regard when it came to bullies at school.
The playground outside of the said school was a chaotic mess. With the children running around the playsets, going down slide, clinging to monkey bars, and all while making as much noise while humanly possible. However if one were to look the would see a blonde haired tan girl and a pale skinned red haired girl that was about two years younger than the blonde one sitting as far away from the gathering of kids as possible.
"What do you think dad will have has be doing." Katie asked her older sister as the two sat down on a bench away from everyone else. That was nothing new as both girls tended to be rather…..confrontational when it came to some of the other students in there select grades. It was just lucky for them the school only had one recess time in which all grade levels were let out.
"Knowing him? Probably something ridiculous like lifting a 75 pound log while in plate mail." Annabeth told her sister in a very unamused voice. She was all for physical training, its just her dad had absolutely no restraint when it came to that sort of stuff. Magic training was fine because he had to slowly explain how these thing worked. Hitting things with other things though did not require too much explanation.
"Oh that sounds fun!" Katie responded in a chipper manner. The look her older sister gave her though made it clear that she thought she was crazy. However before Annabeth could respond a new voice interrupted them.
"Well, well if it isn't little miss know it all and her baby sister. What, got no friends so you have to hang out with family? How lame can you get?" A kid around Annabeth's age taunted as he and a group of his friends walked to over to the bench. The kid was fairly large for an 11 year old had brown hair and green eyes. He was wearing a typica 'I'm a tough guy' outfit complete with a wife beater and golden chain necklace. The other kids in the group were the same age and were dressed very similarly, though the were not as big.
"*sigh* Travis I really am not in the mood for this right now." Annabeth told the kid and shot him a glare.
"Well to bad know it all, you're going to deal with it." As Travis and his friends began to start to heckle Annabeth, Katie decided to speak up.
"Hey Annie, who's the idiot with the group of losers?" She asked oh so innocently. The group of bullies then turned and looked at her.
"Shut up pipsqueak, our beefs with our teachers pet of a sister, now get lost or else things won't go so well for you." Travis threatened Katie as the group of kids tried to look tougher in order to intimidate Katie.
"Oh, big boy over here thinks he's so tough because hes got a little posse, I'm so frightened." Katie drawled out in a very sarcastic manner. Annabeth had to bite her cheek to stop from laughing at the faces the group of boys made. Travis looked taken back a bit at having someone much smaller than he was not getting scarred by him. He decided since the physical attempt was not working it was time to verbally bully. So adopting a sickly smile he said.
"Well at least when I go home I can actually say 'hi mom'... unlike you two." After those words left his mouth he received a fist in the face from Katie that was way harder than he was expecting so it knocked him down. The group of boys all looked at a now standing and pissed off Katie with blood on one of her fists.
"Oh now you're dead pipsqueak!" One of the boys yelled out as he went to punch her, only for her to duck under and nail him with an uppercut, and follow up with a right hook. Annabeth seeing that this was only going to escalate and wanting it to be over as quickly as possible, joined her sister in fighting off the bullies by delivering a sharp kick into one of their ribs. As he leaned over from the blow she followed up with a second kick to the side of the head, knocking him down on the ground very dazed. Annabeth the moved out of the way of a sloppy punch that was thrown from her right. Grabbing the attackers arm she delivered a sharp elbow into the side of the ribs and then pulled him into a jugular punch. While Annabeth's fighting method was well thought out and precise, Katie's was feral and down right brutal. Pursuing both the boy she hit with the right hook and a now getting up Travis, Katie lunged with a knee into both boys crotches and closelined both onto the ground. Slamming the unnamed boys head into the pavement, rendering him to dazed to continue Katie now focused her attention onto the kid who pissed her off. Raining down left and right punches on the prone boys face, her anger at him only grew. Where initially the jab at the lack of her and Annabeth's mothers being was only worthy of a punch to the face during the fight something in her snapped that demanded that Travis pay severely. Failing to notice that Annabeth had actually scared off the other two boys who hadn't gotten involved and that the others were all in no fighting shape, Katie continued to pound Travis's face into a bloody pulp. She would have killed him had Annabeth not pulled her off of him.
"Katie! He's done! Stop before things get worse!" Annabeth pleaded with her sister as she removed her from the bully. Katie turned with a look that could only be described as feral towards her. What Annabeth saw shocked her. Katie's normally brown colored eyes were now a golden yellow, but what was more disturbing was that they were more akin to wolf eyes than a humans.
"You heard what he said! How can you let that go!" Katie snarled at her sister. This chump went too far and needed to be taught a lesson he wouldn't forget. She stared intently at her older sister as she gave her a sad look.
"Yes I heard what he said. And it was terrible, but we could have it much worse than we do. Dad taught us to, at the very least defend ourselves from monster. How many other parents for demigods do you think do that?" Annabeth told Katie. Thankfully all the surrounding bullies had too much head trauma at the moment to take in what Annabeth was saying. Katie's feral glare softened, as her eyes turned back to normal, she opened her mouth to say something but was stopped when the security guard for the school walked up and grabbed both of them.
"You two are coming with me! I swear starting a fight on school property, what's wrong with you!?" Ranted the security guard as he drug both Annabeth and Katie to the principles.
Njal had just finished setting up a table covered in a variety of weapons that he planned on training his daughters in first. On the table was a pair of Ebony daggers, an Akaviri Vampire Katana, a Dwemer crossbow, a large Dragonbone greatsword, and a pair of M1911 handguns. While he wanted to add more Njal just decided to start off small and let them work their way up. He could just see it now, Katie the massive greatsword wielding warrior and Annabeth the slinking in the shadows archer/assassin type. The two would make a good team when a monster, or anyone else for that matter, attacked. Njal was brought out of his musings when his sensitive hearing picked up the phone upstairs ringing. Sighing to himself he made his way up the stairs and answered the phone.
"Hello." Njal answered. The caller ID had said his children's school so he figured it was important.
"Yes mister um….Stormcrown, I have both of your daughters here in my office as, apparently the started a fight with a group of boys and really hurt them. Now we don't condone that type of behavior here and as such they will be reprimanded and I will need to meet with you in order to discuss what will be done about this event." The sound of the principles voice came through the phone. Njal stayed silent on the other side, not out of anger for what his daughters did, no them getting in fights was common. He was more curious about the state of which the boys were left in. Since hand to hand was going to be apart of the training he felt like he should get a feel for what they could do at the moment.
"Alright I'll be right there." Njal said and hung up the phone before a reply could be said. If the girls got kicked out of school for this, so be it. Not like that hasn't happened before.
