Disclaimer: I'm getting real tired of saying I don't own either Percy Jackson or TES
AN: I am debating on whether or not Njal should hook up with Sally, or just have that role filled by someone else. Let me know what you guys think in the reviews.
Sally Jackson looked aroundhome as bodies and destruction were everywhere. She had awoken from that...thing Njal had done and heard the sounds of fighting from inside. Not wanting Njal to get hurt for her sake she ran in and tried to stop what was going on. But apparently Njal was much more dangerous than she realized. Ya he had size but she never really thought he would actually be a great fighter. Hearing a yell and a gunshot she turned and ran towards the hallway to see Njal standing over a…..orc with a hole through its head.
"*Gasp* What Happened!" She cried out. Njal turned towards her and let out a sigh. As he began walking towards her he pointed to her bedroom. Going into the room she saw Gabe, dead on the floor. He had a hole in his head and his chest, a beer bottle on the ground next to him. She gasped once more, as Njal placed a hand on her shoulder . Gabe may have been a terrible person, but he did keep the monsters away from percy. Plus the place was destroyed and the police would investigate, they would be homeless, and bunch of other bad scenarios ran through her mind.
"You and Percy can stay with us, and I will try and get you guys a new place st stay. It's the least I can do." Njal spoke softly as Sally turned and looked up at him. She smiled and shook her head.
"Thank you, but that would be asking too much. You did just now, although quite destructively, save my life." She spoke trying to dismiss Njal. But the Nord was not having any of that.
"No, you and Percy are going to come stay for a while, at least until we can get you two a place to stay. It is no trouble, I may not mention it, or make it look like it but I have more money than I know what to do with. We also have spare rooms back home. Don't make me charm you into it, I already had to put you asleep tonight." Njal reassured and joked to Sally. Though the last part did make her narrow her eyes a bit.
"About that, were you ever going to tell me about that? Or that Annabeth and Katie are demigods?" Sally inquired. Njal's eyes darted left to right as he started to whistle, ever so nonchalantly. She then crossed her arms and stared him down.
"You were also hiding that Percy is a demigod!" Njal accused in order to divert attention. Sally turned flustered and replied.
"Well, it is not exactly something you can just slip into casual conversation! And how do you know?" She asked with a raised eyebrow.
"I could smell the godly blood in him." Njal replied. Though that answer could have been worded better as Sally looked panicked.
"No, no, I'm a werewolf. Not a monster." That answer did very little to calm her down as she now looked very alarmed.
"Look if I was going to hurt him wouldn't I have done it already?" Njal's attempt at reassurance fared better this time but she still looked pissed at him.
"Do your daughters know? About you? Percy? All of this?" She inquired.
"Yes, yes, no, and yes." Njal replied.
"I have been training them in magic, and was going to start on weapon training today, but, alas events have conspired against me. Though I now realize I left four fully loaded M1911 handguns out in the open." That last statement caused Sally to slap Njal on the arm.
"You are a terrible influence!" She yelled out.
"Yes I am. However we can continue this conversation later, after we grab you and Percy's thing and leave before the police arrive." Njal said as Sally nodded. She went to go grab some suitcases only to hear a loud noise and see a purple flash. When she turned around all of the close that were in her closet had disappeared. Looking to the massive man in the room, she looked for clarification.
"This way is faster." He said with a shrug as he began teleporting Sally's and Percy's thing to the two spare rooms he had back home. Which scared the crap out of Katie and Annabeth as they had no context. As Njal was walking past the dead orc he stopped and stared at the body. He raised his hand as a sprout of flames emerged from it burning the body to an unidentifiable crisp. Sally turned and stared at him in confusion, and surprise.
"What are you doing?" She questioned. This man was causing more damage to the place than there already was.
"Disposing of the body that will cause massive problems. Mythical race in an apartment is not good." Njal explained. Seeing the logic behind the decision, or as much as she wanted to see, she nodded. Though a question came up in her head.
"How have you been protecting your children all this time?" She assumed it was his magic, but wanted to know if there was more too it.
"Initially I simply killed whatever monster got close, though now I have taught Annabeth and Katie how to defend themselves." He explained as he motioned for the door. Nodding, both Njal and Sally left the apartment and arrived back at Njal's house a few minutes later. When both walked in they were greeted to Katie and Annabeth staring at both of them.
"Mrs. Jackson will be staying with us for a while, as well as Percy when he gets out of school. At least until they find a place to stay." Njal told both of them. Both had looks of confusion on their faces as they waited for their dad to elaborate on what he said. In other words it was awkward silence for a few seconds until Sally explained.
"There were some…...bad men at my place, and your dad was, a little overzealous in dealing with them." She spoke trying not to mention that the men were assassins. Njal had different plans.
"The men were assassins and they killed Gabe, but not her. In other words they did us a favor." He spoke as both daughters had looks of realization. Sally seeing that the girls were just apathetic in regards to hearing about death shifted that reason to Njal and promptly slapped him in the ribs.
"What!? Tis true is it not?" He spoke. He had found out about Gabe's abuse towards Sally a few years back, it took all of Sally's pleading for Njal not to kill the man. That didn't mean he got off scott free though. Njal put him in the hospital for 5 months with severe injuries. Now that we was dead, things could only get better for Sally and Percy.
"Why are they not surprised about you killing people!" Sally yelled, ignoring his comment.
"He has done it before." Katie said in a sleepy voice as she was walking back to her room. Annabeth nodded in agreement and also exited the room. Leaving Sally staring up at Njal, who calmly whistled and began walking towards his room. Sally watched with narrow eye's as he closed the door to his room. Sighing to herself , she began to search for the spare room that she would be staying in. Suffice to say, this would be an interesting arrangement.
Detective Mike and Detective Trevor both were walking to the morgue of a hospital that they had gotten a call from. Apparently some Russian mobsters had broken into a house, killed the owner, and all then died in a very brutal way. Now normally that was the NYPD's problem not the FBI, but none off the mobsters were small time. All had either been a captain or an hitman in the mob, meaning they were people of importance. That had the FBI's attention. Opening the door to the morgue both men saw a doctor over looking a group of body bags. Approaching him and flashing their badges, Mike introduced them.
"Hello, I'm Detective Mike Mijki, and this is Detective Trevor Stewart. We got a call about some high profile bodies." The doctor nodded and motioned them over to one of the tables and unzipped the body bag. The man had a massive hole through his chest and his heart was missing. That and several of his bones were sticking out.
"Damn, guy got the short end of whatever stick hit these guys." Trevor spoke looking over the body.
"You should see some of the others, some simply have firearm entry wounds, while others look like a truck ran them over. Who ever did this is brutal." The doctor spoke. As he walked the men through the injuries on each body, and showing them to horrifically burnt corpse, he spoke again.
"Now the burnt one is weird because he was dead, then set on fire."
"So someone had it out for the guy?" Mike asked looking over the body. Though it was severely damaged he recognized an orc when he saw one. So, someone does not want the existence of mythical races to be confirmed? Makes since, it would cause a lot of problems. Then again, if anyone did an in depth look at him they would see he is not exactly a normal human either, he was a Redguard.
"I guess so. Oh! One more thing they all had this symbol on their outfits." The doctor said as he pointed out an etching of a black hand on the jackets of the men.
"Hmm, that is interesting." Mike mumbled. Turning towards his partner Mike spoke to him.
"Hey man I've got to go make some phone calls real fast." Trevor looked at him and waved him off. Exiting the morgue and walking down the hall Mike pulled out his cell phone and began to dial. This was an eventful week, finding evidence of the Dragonborn's location and the treaturous faction of the Dark Brotherhood. Oh yes, The Black Hand will have an interesting time here.
Several weeks Later
Percy Jackson was a 12 year old boy with dark hair and sea green eyes, and he was currently very confused. When he was sent home from Yancy Academy at the end of the year he had expected to have to take public transportation to his smelly step fathers place. What happened instead was his mom and his friends Annabeth and Katie Stormcrown's dad to pick him up and say that due to reasons, which they did not go into, him and his mother would be staying with Njal. Now while incredibly shocking at first, Percy quickly warmed up to the idea since, A. Njal and his daughters were cool people, B. Njal was not a jerk like Gabe, and C. His mom actually seemed to like Njal, despite the constant banter back and forth. So Percy's summer was immediately better than he thought.
"How was school honey?" His mom asked from the front seat of Njal's truck.
"Same old, same old. Can't seem to not get in trouble, have problems with grades. and my best friend has to deal with stupid bullies at school. And I, uh may have gotten kicked out again." He slid in on the end their. He kept the museum thing from them since he did not want the man whose house he was going to stay in think he's crazy.
"HAHAHAHAHA!" Njal let out a loud laugh. As both Jackson's looked at him. One in confusion and the other in annoyance.
"What?" Percy asked. His mom's face said that there was a reason for the laughter.
"Annabeth and Katie also got kicked from their school." His mom explained.
"Wise girl got kicked out of school? I mean Katie I can see as she is kind of scary, but Annabeth not so much." Percy asked.
"Uh, no offense Mr. Stormcrown." He quickly added on after he realized who was in the car.
"Yes. Apparently starting a fight at school gets people kicked out now a days." Njal said as he turned a corner.
"A fight? Well now I can see why." Percy mumbled. As much as a know-it-all Annabeth was, whenever her sister got threatened or into a fight, Annabeth would throw down just as quickly as Katie.
"Yes, and guess who was completely fine with it?" Sally drawled as she looked towards Njal. Percy let out a chuckle at how different the two were, yet how close they were. His mom was a very nice woman, with a bit of a rebellious streak, whereas Njal was all rebellious and often blunt to the point of rudeness.
"Um, is it the seven foot viking driving the car?" Percy played along with the harassment.
"Ding, ding, ding! We have a winner!" His mom joked with a smile. They both shared a laugh at Njal's expense.
"Guess who will drive this car into oncoming traffic?" Njal said back to them with a smile.
"Hmm, I don't think your daughters would like you killing the woman who has helped you care for them, or their friend." Sally said inquisitively as she raised a hand to her chin.
"Ah they'll get over it." Njal stated back. The road was quickly covered in shade by a massive storm cloud and the waves of the harbor nearby began to become violent. Njal looked like he was about to say something but his mom hit his arm and pointed back at Percy.
"The weather lately has been ridiculous." Percy commented looking out the window. It was like the sky and ocean were at war.
"If the weather has any idea whats good for it it will stop being ridiculous or else." Njal said a little louder than necessary, almost like he was yelling at the two. Sally looked over and said.
"Please don't pick a fight with the weather." It sounded almost like a plea.
"Then the weather best solve its problem or I will and trust me I am not a nice meteorologist." Njal yelled back outside. Percy had an eyebrow raised as he observed the events with no context. But what ever was going to happen, it would be a life changing experience for Percy and for Njal it would be since of nostalgia and remembrance of why he was the most feared man on Nirn.
