Thomas sighed. "You know, years ago I would have been surprised by that."

I shrugged awkwardly. "Well, it worked."

Thomas stared at me, then shook his head. "And even that doesn't surprise me. Why is it that the fact that you once interrogated someone with a rubber duck not surprising to me? Or that you succeeded?"

"It was a very menacing duck," I defended.

"I'm sure. Is food like a theme with you? Mushrooms, duck, turkey, doughnuts…."

"The duck wasn't edible." I pointed out.

"Neither were the mushrooms, you moron."

A pause.

"And I still haven't forgiven you for that."
