A/N: Wow! Okays so it's definitely been a while since I've updated. I had plans on writing during the summer but that certainly didn't happen. So this chapter is definitely a little shorter than usual because I didn't want to add anything else that would cloud the effect so this is all you're getting :D This is a pretty important chapter though!

Thank you whilewewereyetsinners for beta-ing this chapter for me :D

Summary: Bella Swan is suddenly teleported to the Bronze Age through a mysterious portal where she's suddenly accused of murder. Rating: M (For several reasons, enough said.)

Disclaimer: I don't own Twilight, it belongs to SM. What does belong to me though is this plot and any original characters that I add in there. I repeat: I make no profit off of this.

CHAPTER FIVE: BLOOD BOND

After the annoying bickering between Bella and Edward, the two royals left the room. Alice went towards the kitchen, most likely to get something to eat. That woman could eat two horses and still have some space for a cow. It was astounding, yet eldritch.

Edward made his way towards his sleeping quarters and slipped inside; the hallway was actually empty for once. Inside, his green eyes laid upon a young maid who was arranging his bed. She had short blonde hair, a clean cut, and wore the typical maid outfit that looked skimpy. He knew his brother Emmett had taken advantage of the maids, though certainly not rape. No, his brother would never have resorted to rape. Women practically flaunted themselves to him, presenting him with the finest goods because of his looks and status. Well, his previous looks and status, that is.

Edward motioned for the girl to leave and she proceeded to do so quickly. He was glad this one was not interested in trying to offer him things he didn't want. It was no secret the maids around here tried to earn a little more pay or even tried to ascend in status. That's why he was never interested in maids and commoners, they only wanted to be with you for a specific period for their own benefit. When another took your place, that maid or commoner would end up leaving you to further their status. Such a joke. People failed to realize that royals were simply people who were born lucky.

This was the reason why Edward never even attempted to run for King. Why govern people who, in their eyes, consider you some piece of gain or food? He never understood this and probably never would. However, now that Emmett was dead and Jasper would ascend the throne, his brother was going to need all the luck and power in the world to make it successful.

His mind wandered towards Bella, who was still underground in her cell. Every day, he was more convinced that she was innocent. He was uncertain if it was due to the constant bickering or just the way she was. Bella was definitely smart; she had mentioned words that even he did not know. Despite her commoner ways, he could tell she definitely had some dignity. Of course, he would never say it in her presence, that would mean he would be complimenting her. That was something he did not want to let her know.

His mind was wandering off again; Edward immediately backtracked to the main point. Judgement day was the next morning so he needed to think of something quick. It was no doubt Queen Esme would sentence her to suffer the death penalty in the square in front of an audience. Her mind would definitely be hard to change. She would need concrete evidence to open her eyes to Bella's innocence. But how?

Unless her death would directly correlate to another's, they would sentence her to jail, maybe even then. If the death was of royal blood maybe. His eyes widened a fraction; could he? It certainly was possible, but could he go through with it?

A blood bond sounded like the only option at the moment. This bond would connect two individual spirits and bind them together. From then on, their emotions would be similar, though there is a way to block them; they could have a type of mental bond, but there is also a way to block that. It would only last around two years; just enough time to prove Bella's innocence, or at least find evidence enough to cast doubt on her guilt.

Edward left his chamber and made his way toward the library, he walked past a few bookcases and located a book of spells, dark magic. Blood bonds were considered sacred but generally held risk, two spirits are sometimes not compatible enough to bond. Bonds made with royal blood were especially risky for the participating non-royal. Royal blood was too pure but maybe Bella's blood was also pure, she didn't seem corrupted. He noticed the way she ogled him on their first meeting; her first impression was definitely not positive. At least, she looked at him as though she'd never seen a man before so that must mean she was pure...right? He would have to ask her.

He grabbed the book and made his way towards the stairs, making sure to hide the book underneath his cloak. Edward passed his room to grab the goblet with his personal royal seal and a knife. He made his way towards the stairs leading to Bella's cell and descended. The prince found her laying on the floor, shivering from the cold floor. He felt a ping of sympathy which immediately disappeared; she would not remain here for long.

"Wake up, commoner." He lightly kicked one of the cell bars, the sound echoed throughout the underground area. "We have things to do."

She awoke with a start, surely due to his kick, but once she made eye contact with him she glared. If only she knew what he was going to sacrifice for her. "Oh...It's you," she grumbled with disdain. "What do you want, Prince Edward?"

He inwardly smiled at her naming him by his title; it now seemed like second nature to her. "Hurry, we are making a blood bond."

She shivered, this time surely not from shock. Her expression turned sour. "Um...How about no?"

Edward sighed, this woman was frustrating. "Do you want to surely die? Or possibly die?" Bella actually seemed to consider this.

"How about surely live?" she proposed. "Is that an option?"

"Are you deaf?" Edward hissed, putting the goblet on the ground between them. He took out the knife and gently laid it near the goblet. At the sight of the knife, Bella cowered in the corner.

"What the heck do you need a knife for?!" she screeched, it sounded like a pig dying. Were his ears bleeding? No? Why not?

"Silence." She immediately quieted at the sound of his authority voice. "Tomorrow is judgement day, Queen Esme will surely hand you the death sentence. King Carlisle will definitely agree with his wife."

Bella remained quiet, not uttering a single word. She was probably shocked, knowing that she had less than twenty-four hours to live.

"Or..." Edward trailed off, his hand motioning to the goblet in front of him. "You could make a blood bond with me and be able to live for two more years. This should be enough time to either prove your innocence or plant doubt to your guilt."

'And enough time to find the way to get me home,' she thought, but kept staring at the knife. "So, how do you do the blood bond?"

Edward picked up the knife. "I will slit your palm, diagonally through the fate line of your palm. Give me your hand."

Bella wanted to make a disgusted remark, but this was serious business so she handed it over without a word. His fingers trailed the fate line, the electricity leaving goosebumps on her arms. "Right here. And you must do the same for me. We can not slit our own palms, it will not work. Next we must hold hands, intertwined the fingers and let our combined blood drip into the goblet. Then I have to drink, then you have to drink. Simple."

"Whoa hold on, we are cutting things? I...I can't deal with blood, it makes me nauseous."

"I have no problem with letting you die tomorrow. Tell me if you do not want to do this, I surely don't." Edward was getting impatient, she was wasting precious time complaining about insignificant things.

"Alright okay, I'll do it," she whined, and watched Edward pick up the knife and set it on her hand. He grabbed the second knife and handed it to her.

"We must do it at the same time."

Bella nodded and grabbed the knife, it seemed as though she began shaking but it wasn't her, it was the ground. "Quickly now," Edward rushed. The two simultaneously dragged the sharp edges across the fate line of each palm. Blood began oozing out of the wounds; Edward quickly intertwined fingers with Bella, and the blood dripped into the goblet.

The smell of iron drifted into Bella's nose; it made her stomach churn, and she began feeling lightheaded.

Edward reached for the goblet and drank, he then handed it to Bella while keeping their fingers intertwined. "Here." He handed it over; Bella was too lightheaded to grab it so she merely leaned toward the goblet and let Edward feed it to her. She felt the drops of blood slowly making their way down her throat, and the feeling came back with full force. Suddenly, what was once a simple vibration of the ground was now a full tremor. Their palms were heating up; the wounds were burning as though someone poured acid over them.

Bella wasn't feeling anything though, there was too much blood for her to focus. Her vision began spotting, a sign that she was close to passing out. "Prince Edward," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "Prin- Prince..." Then the world went black.

Edward sighed, the ritual was successful. He felt the burn of an insignia on his chest and Bella probably would have felt it too, if she hadn't passed out. The smell of blood was probably too much for her. He chuckled; how would she ever manage if she was in war? The smell of the dead rotting in the air. How would she manage if sickness broke out in the kingdom? While the smell of decomposing corpses floated in the air. His royal goblet was now completely red, a sign that a royal had created a blood bond. There was no hiding what they had done, the tremor was sure to have given it away.

The prince stood up and called for the guards. "Open her cell!" he ordered. "And bring her to my room."

A/N: I'm pretty sure the Aquarii star is bright enough to be seen all year long but for the sake of the story, it is only once a year.

Just in case anyone is confused here, Edward proposed the Blood Bond because even if the Queen and King themselves want a person dead, they can't if it results in the death of a royal blood. So considering a Blood Bond only lasts for 2 years, they have said amount of time to figure out what to do.

Hope you guys liked it. Until next time!
