"You kissed her?"
"Well," I defended, "How else were we supposed to get out? I was sort of running on empty, you know."
"Empty night!" Thomas gagged, putting his hands over his ears. "Don't say that! You're my brother and she's my sister! I don't want to hear that you two kissed!"
I rolled my eyes. "Half-brother and half-sister. We aren't actually related to each other except through you."
He shook his head. "Still. Do you know how weird that is?"
I bit back a smile. "Trust me, it was a last resort. I won't mention it again."
"Thank you."
